  1. No, not a politician. His commitment was cut way short thanks to his actions. His popularity was not in any of those, and in fact it was part popularity and part infamy.
  2. Old school bad sequel... Chinatown was just an amazing film all around... the acting, the plot, the music... watched it the other night and it's still a classic. The Two Jakes? Can't stomach it... it's as if they stuck Jack Nicholson in a movie and expected him to carry it as Gittes. Simply awful.
  3. Every time I see your face It reminds me of the places we used to go But all I've got is a photograph And I realize you're not coming back anymore I thought I'd make it The day you went away But I can't make it 'Til you come home again to stay
  4. He was never an actor.
  5. He was in the Navy, but not that long.
  6. No, not Bills related at all. Very astute of you! Nice observation! Nope! Definitely was born before Ralph Wilson. Not music related.
  7. Since it is obviously Marv Levy and we had a winner... here is a challenge!!! Have fun
  8. So now I have to wonder... the question was earlier if he was an athlete... you you're saying he WAS an athlete, just not professionally? I get this I've Got A Secret mentality right now and I love old game shows so don't judge LOL
  9. Is he a politician?
  10. Ed Edwards?
  11. The series Goliath also focuses on water rights in California for a season, a much more modern example obviously. Check it out if you are able!
  12. You nailed that assessment... I'm a lot more familiar with the eastern part of the state and that's how people see it. Upstate NY is that area just outside of NYC people commute from... I mean you COULD lump the Catskills in with it from an earlier time when the Borsch Belt was swinging, but now it's what you describe it as.
  13. 1 hour ago, Pabstblueribbon said: Upstate NY technically refers to the region surrounding NYC where many people fleeing the hustle and bustle relocated to while still maintaining their jobs in the city. Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, possibly as far up as Orange are considered "Upstate". Beyond that you have other regions - Captial Region, Catskills, Adirondacks, Southern Tier, Western NY etc etc. Yeah, it's true. Nobody in Glens Falls or Plattsburgh says they are from upstate NY... it's the Adirondacks. Nobody on Long Island says they are from upstate NY... it's the Island or Lon Guy-land. Nobody in say Prattsville says they are from upstate NY... it's the Catskills. I have no idea why you'd automatically reject that post!
  14. I look at it this way... Kyle Shanahan left the Falcons, and suddenly their offense goes out the window... Devonta Freeman goes to the Giants, who have relied on Saquon Barkley's explosiveness to make plays despite their offensive line. Devonta Freeman has played in the Super Bowl for God's sake... Why is this even an issue??? Bring him up to speed and USE HIM, if not for blocking and veteran competence!!! Please, rational BillsMafia, help me out here
  15. I live in the area and Browns fans are not that passionate and they are weak... every Sunday hardly any representation out there. It's EMBARASSING. VERY disappointing.... and don't bother to use this "depressed economy" excuse... they have LESS COVID restrictions here too!!! WEAK.
  16. It is Jackson Pollock! Going to the url to figure it out is like Googling a question while playing Trivial Pursuit, yo LOL
  17. Yeah, not having Van Miller or Paul Maguire around the Bills like the old days is odd and sad also... I just wish they were still involved. I wonder what Paul Maguire thinks about this team? I was really fortunate to meet Ralph twice in my life... the second time was coming onto the concourse after the Bills beat the Jets at Rich in 1999. He was lively and really enjoyed the win and acted just like another fan! Bumped into Marv Levy too on a sidewalk in Chicago in 1999 as well... it was all total luck and amazing! I'm just ready to win it all... what could be better after such a terrible year?
  18. Thanks, appreciate it!!! So the hockey part is TOUGH for me considering that my cousin played for the Canadiens and if you're French Canadian then you really can't hate the Habs. I remember listening to Sabres games on the radio on a crackly AM station and despite the bloodline you couldn't really root for the Bills without the Sabres... and I mean with Patty L, Mogilny, Hawerchuk (RIP) and Audette it was great times AND THEN you bring in Hasek after that and it just was lit. The last year my father was on this Earth we went to a Sabres/Hurricanes game together... and I still have the photos, the ticket, the paper after. It was the only game he and I ever went to together as father and son. I never knew why he didn't like sports at all until I found out his twin brother, a football star in high school, died months after graduation because of a tumor he had which caused him blackouts.
  19. I was 5 years old... I had no idea who they were, just that it was the Pirates. As I got older I of course knew exactly who the players were and I was baseball card crazy also. Of course by that time the old team fell apart and a new one came up with Van Slyke and Drabek and Jim Leyland... I thought Leyland was a great manager!
  20. Dobbins is a freak... he could have been our Thurman Thomas. But hey, that's what being a fan is... talking about what we would do LOL
  21. The Pirates is a rare combo with the Bills... it's because when I was young I was into baseball only and we lived in Washington, PA... and my grandparents lived in Bradenton where the Pirates held spring training every year and still do. I've been a Pirates fan ever since I was little in the late 70s. So unlike most Bills fans who are Yankees or Indians fans, I'm Pirates. I get the #!#@ing Steelers fans who see my Pirates stuff and automatically assume I'm a Steelers fan. It's terrible LOL In the early 90s, I had it all... but now I have hardly anything left pro wise... except for this one beautiful, magical team I love
  22. Just saying I enjoyed watching him play, even for a season. That's all...
  23. No, she is pointing out that "You guys don't want to play US, Taylor will run all OVER you guys and our defense is the best in the league!" You don't want us is the mantra... I told HER nobody is scared of the Colts passing game and Josh Allen can more than handle the Colts D who struggled against the Stillers of all teams!
  24. So here is the record: Her teams: Colts 2008 Buckeyes 2014* *my team as well Cavaliers 2015-16 My teams: NADA My Sabres have hit the skids... my Knicks have gone to the Dolan Circle of Hell... my Pirates have gone to the Nutting Circle of Hell... So I want BOTH... I'm a greedy SOB at this point!!!!!!
