  1. Not saying this is wrong, but, really, what coaching staff, for the Bill, has had anytime to plot or maintain anything? The average 3 year cycle of coaches completely prevents that, doesn't it?
  2. If EJ played the whole game the way he plays in the final two minutes, I think he would(will) be a success. He knows then that its "do or die" time and doesn't care if he slings it.
  3. To be fair Butler may have been on his way out the door anyway. The reason Butler was fired was he was not sure if he wanted to return the way Wilson meddled with the team. And AJ Smith never really proved to be a great GM . That said, Wilson should have done what ever it took to keep Butler on board giving him the title of president instead of doing that with Donahoe.
  4. I do not think anyone would disagree with what was writing the problem I see is in this paragraph: I truly believe the conservative playing style Has been coached into him ... and perhaps Orton too at this point. I think that is how Marrone wants to play ... "whatever you do don't make a mistake" football.
  5. This may have more to do with not making the playoffs, but there are certainly at least a season or two; especially during the Jauron days, that 2 games could have been won but for poor coaching decisions. Thus allowing the Bills to have a winning record.
  6. Yes if you do not make silly coaching decisions ... that has been why the Bills have failed to get even a winning record but once in 14 years.
  7. This was a huge problem for Gailey. He should have brought someone in initially who was a 4-3 guy, probably pushed to keep Fewell. The problem at the time was not Defense which is why they went for an offensive minded coach. I can just imagine how much better the Gailey teams would have been had Fewell been retained as DC.
  8. If you use that there are still pretty good defenses they are playing coming up. GB which looked somewhat vulnerable earlier in the year looks like a beast the last two weeks. Who knows "any given Sunday" as they say.
  9. Can't disagree with this too much. Although, if history is any indication, I am not sure the bolded part is true.
  10. Mularky, Jauron and Willaims had some success as Coordinators. Mularky really didn't get a chance the second time.
  11. Offensive - Gailey Defensively - Jauron ... His problem was by the end of games, because of lack of offensive possession the defense was spent and then gave up tons of yardage. The other ones I really do not know that is a big part of the problem coaching correctly I would agree with this.
  12. Where was there false hope? I stated that it was unlikely. Also, when did I provide any excuse for his poor play? I didn't. And I will give you the silly question because when I thought about it again the Urbik and Mike Williams issues popped in my head, Ha!
  13. He came through in a clutch in Detroit and Minnesota games. The last two games he played poorly. I said I do not disagree. The point you were stating was that veterans should never go through stretches where they play poorly, I think that is silly there are plenty of veterans that play poorly in stretches of the season or parts of their career. They are a .500 football team win 6 games left. While unlikely they could, theoretically, string together 6 wins and still get into the playoffs. The QB in there should be the one the team believes gives them the best chance to win. If they believe it to be Orton that is who should play, at least, until someone tells them they are out of the playoff chase, not before. I don't care who plays, but as a fan, it should be whomever the team feels gives them the best chance to win(until they are truly not playing for the playoffs). Do you really believe they are trying to lose because they are starting Orton?
  14. That has nothing to do with the argument you made. Nor do I disagree. You want the say people are exaggerating on EJs performance and you are doing basically the same for Orton.
  15. This is ridiculous. Really, players cannot have bad stretches if they are veterans(Eli Manning)? It happens. Yes he has played bad for two weeks, he apparently has a toe injury(I really do not know if that effects his play or not). This has nothing to do with EJ and no guarantee that he will play better but, the "he is a veteran" he should never have bad games in not realistic.
  16. You would be hard pressed to come up with a list of top 10 in any position that met that criteria for a ten your period. Typically better teams pick lower, outside of a team that trades up.
  17. You say hate the attitude and in the next breath say " Sure, we're not making the playoffs, and everyone knows it." a team with a winning attitude doesn't know that. They believe that they have the capability of winning the next 6 games. And with that record they most likely do make the playoffs. I am not saying I believe they can, but saying "everyone knows it" basically nullifies what you say you want. Everyone is calking up future games as losses, technically they have the ability to win 6 more games, in the past the fans would be talking about mathematically eliminated now the team does not even get that.
  18. It depends if the play is called is a players strength or weakness. Orton was doing well and other QBs did well last year before they "opened up the playbook". I just do not know how one can objectively look at what is going on and say there is not a problem. Last Year: EJ showed promise Thad won games and came close in others Tuel showed some flashes This Year: EJ benched Thad realeased Tuel to PS Orton for three weeks looks good then, after more time in the system looks horrible. I don't understand why the media doesn't ask "Hey do you coaches see this pattern"?
  19. I understand this but technically all coaches are under contract so you could force the new HC to keep him. I know it is unlikely but its about time the Bills go against convention and have someone else pick the Coordinators for their HCs. Had a good DC been here of Gailey who know. A good OC for Juroun who knows. The biggest issue is this team finds reasons to give up in big games. As soon as that Intention Ground call came in anyone paying attention to this team knew they would not recover from that. That is on the HC. He always looks so defeated on the sidelines I am sure that rubs off on the players.
  20. What does Brady renting a NYC apartment have to do with the Buffalo Bills?
  21. A higher draft pick in the second is not a item I think the staff would covet. If he has improved and still loses it may still present them with the reason not to look at him next year. I would be ok with him playing if you knew for sure you were not going to make the playoffs. I just do not see it as a realistic possibility for people hoping to keep their jobs. Unless, of course, management tells them to and says it will have no bearing on whether it will cost jobs or not. I am of the believe anything less than 9-7 there should be changes;although, I am unsure if that will happen based on what Brandon has stated about continuity .
  22. I am not agreeing of disagreeing, but those stats are skewed do to the small sample size. Every win and loss with effect it greatly.
  23. ^^^ This Until they can prove they can win when the pressure is on they are the same. The reason the team is doing well against the NFC North is Schwartz's familiarity of the division and, while nice, those are the games you want to lose(if the team could choose).
