Not necessarily. Rex was easy low hanging fruit. Whaley's situation on the other hand is not so cut and dry. Pegs is still learning on the job and firing Whaley too would prove to everyone he is in way over his head. Peg's ego won't admit that yet.

Another one being his past injury history has no bearing on his future injury probabilities. Try looking up actuary and then with a straight face tell me Romo is a realistic insurance policy to a winning future.
There is no quick fix. Give up draft picks for whom? All you are left with then are other holes. Perennial playoff teams plan, draft and build. They don't chase this or that shiny object. That strategy rarely works out.
