Last time in the playoffs 3-4 Defense super bowl runs 3-4 defense I like the idea Play Stroud inside with Denney and Schobel at ends LBS Free agent or pass rushing draft pick, Crowell , Poz and Mitchell SS -Scott CB- McGee, McKelvin, Greer( if they pay him) or Youbooty in the nickle FS- Whitner I think it could work with a different DC but no way the bills run a 3-4 with Fewell

They should have never got rid of the white helmets I think the White helmets with the charging Buffalo and the all blue home current jerseys would look great I love the throwbacks but I would add the charging buffalo on the helmets -
Leftwhich high on bills FA board?

I would bring him in (Leftwich) to see what he can offer. Dont forget Jauron was the Jags DC while Leftwich was a starter. quote me if im wrong So Jauron at least knows what he can do. If they do bring him in make it an open QB fight. May the best man win but I do think Trent wins that battle. I hope they fix his shoulder in the meantime Leftwich does have a slow release though but he still has a cannon of an arm -
OT- "Can Buffalo Ever Come Back"
Bufcomments replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I always thought Buffalo would recieve more from the government if it had more people under the name City of Buffalo Everything from South buffalo north should be Buffalo This basically includes Cheektowaga, Amherst, williamsville, Kenmore Most of the people living in these towns work in downtown office buildings but spend their money at the malls and store outside the city. If everything was together i'm sure there would be less government to pay, less taxes,a bigger and better police force, fire, schools, other city services. Separate does not make a region better. If I was on the waterfront action team, I would do things different 1. Bass Pro to me would only work as the headline store at an open air downtown Mall. The Mall downtown is not even a Mall for Christ sake. I think that is why they are scarred about building a Store by itself. no supporting store like Walmart, Kmart or A major Dollar store to help feed people to it 2. Instead on focusing on Buffalo's past aim for the future, reminding everybody that the early 1900's was the citys prime wont sell to tourists 3. You have enough land to build a downtown open air Mall. 4. You DO NOT need a casino downtown. The local wallets would not support it for long anyway. BUT I would since the Senecas already have land downtown , I would ask them to build a open air skating rink like they have in NYC. I think I know some Canadians that like to skate EH?? AS a concession they would be allowed to build a Smokin joes type gas station where they would be allowed to sell cigs at thier price but not the gas since it would kill off the nearby gas stations. You could leave the standing casino where it is. Its big enough 5. The Skyway has to come down !!!! People dont even see what you have to offer if you drive over it as oppose to driving on land. Besides it would create jobs for a project that would last years and it would open up more waterfront space 6. An entertainment park like Darien Lake in Downtown Buffalo. Dont tell me you dont have the space and parking because you do and it would be seen from the I-90 an instant tourist spot. Bottom line is you have to rebuild the region from inside out. Not outside in PS Local taxes is killing this city...Garbage fee is a joke and should be gotten rid of yesterday -
Lets say the Bills let Greer go........you have McKelvin to replace him so you have him and McGee at CB now McGee contract is up after 09....you have Youboty to replace him, but he is injury prone. So theres a possiblity to you have McKelvin and Corner your starting CBs in 2010. Here saying you keep Greer why? Because he is a darn good player thats why. If the Bills offered him 5 mill i bet he stays They should have locked him up already. Pat williams and Winfield wanted to stay, but the Bills let them go I'm sure Greer would love to stay but he has earned a bigger contract The Bills should pay him and let McGee go after next year
-
I would trade Youboty and a 4th rounder for Winlsow But have injury issues and it would be a benefit for both teams you would have to keep Greer in this was to go down

AS I said in any earlier post Ralph spent money during the late 80's and early 90's when the Bills had a legit chance to win it all. It cost him serious money to keep Kelly, Thomas , Bruce, Andre, and the rest of the core players together all those years. So he has not always been cheap. The worst decision he made was letting Tom Donahoe run the team. I think it made him leary in hiring name people to run his ship. Its a shame because Pioli from the Patriots is still out there, he would be a Polian part 2 But having said that there is money out there if he lets the Senecas pay for the naming rights at the Ralph. But that leads to another question....... if he declines money from the naming rights of the stadium, that tells me he doesn't need it. So the Bills have plenty of cap room this year. You can pay Pioli his salary just off the naming Rights on the Stadium. Ralph just needs somebody (GM Piloi) do make better decisions with his money like Polian did. Ralph being a tightwad when you have to sell a product to Toronto is not a smart business decision. Time is now to spend to improve the team because he will get the money back in playoffs. The really question is................does Ralph care enough now???? To me and many fans the answer is NO

I like the idea of a new stadium in NF It would add much needed jobs to the area It would force city leaders to clean up the city at and around the stadium I would ask the Senecas to lend a hand in construction.....forget the downtown casino.....if you really want to make friends with the state ...spend some money on a new stadium and make a deal with the state so you can keep selling gas and cigs tAX FREE More tourists in the fall and winter at Niagara falls Can you picture MNF flying the blimp over and open air staduim with the Falls in the background??...Sweet Stadium would have to have a retractable roof so you can host things like the NCAAs, Raptors games, Local HS and college games. The more I think about it the more I love the thought Same distance driving to OP anyway and away from the snow belt. If you add an amusement park like Darien Lake or even more Darien Lake there you have a major tourist attraction. I like the idea of merging NF and Buffalo, bigger tax base, more money from state More money for new stadium

Pure talent......Lee Evans ...blazing speed not used correctly though McKelvin.... he has some tools to be a shutdown corner...time will tell, can be a game changer Peters..... 2 Pro bowls for a ex-TE , not bad Moorman..... I respect what he has done kicking here in Buffalo ,rare talents for a punter Hard working Talent Lynch....Beast Mode baby, brings it EVERY GAME. My favorite player on the team Jackson.....maybe better to the hole than Lynch, respect his game alot McGee... I think he is underrated as a player Reed... has grown into his role nicely after a slow start, a poor mans Hines Ward Stroud.....Still a force, needs some more talent at the DE position for him to be truly effective Greer...made a name for himself the old fashion way with hard work and I hope the Bills keep him Think Evans is the best player overall on and off the field
-
Thats why i dont like the cover 2 defense Whitner would be better closer to the line in a more aggressive D
-
Ronnie Lott is the best I've seen overall But Ed Reed is off the hook when he gets the ball in his hands, but he is a natural playmaker and he benefits by having Ray Lewis in front of him. Ray Lewis demands you play well and it has to rub off on Reed The Bills have to find a Ray Lewis type player that is part coach part animal like Lewis. easier said than done... The Bills had Ed Reed in mind when they drafted Whitner. I wonder if they blitzed Whitner more would he be more effective....

Bills' offense vs. playoff team offenses
Bufcomments replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very good post you put some thought into it. Yes ...lack of speed in play calling is caused by Turk being a rookie OC. But this is something i'm sure ( or hope) that the coaches notice in game film . This is very correctable and they must get better at this. Trent will get and has to get better at getting the team to the line with 12 seconds left . This is lack of experience showing. Remember that he still has a learning curve. He will be a very good QB i think still. As we know Royal is not the TE you want. That's why they drafted Fine in the first place. Im sure they will try to upgrade the TE spot in the offseason. Mike Shanahan would have been both Head coach and OC you heard me Ralph...... ya big dummie -
No I dont think Fewell is the problem. Think back on all the injuries on the defense the last 2 seasons. bad luck and lack of people who can pass rush is the problem. I would have liked to see the Defense with a Schobel, McGee, Youbooty, Greer and Crowell. so it was not at full strength all year long it seems They would have been better and with that said they were better than last season without the above mentioned players. so if you give Fewell 2 more pass rushers they would be in the top 10 next year maybe if they avoid the injuries. I would give Kelsey the pink slip, let Denney start and add 1 free agent and 1 high draft pick that can rush the passer and we will be ok on Defense. They can keep Greer if the use the money freed up by letting Kelsey go IMO

All this talk about getting rid of Peters is BS a good LT is hard to find ,A Pro bowl tackle twice as hard He earned the right to go to the Pro bowl last year. So what if he got in this year, we all know its a popularity contest but he won. somebody from other teams think he is good enough to go. Now , like it or not, the Bills have to make him an offer because he has leverage. Now he can and most likely holdout again. I would offer him a nice deal but the Bills would have to come down on Dockerys pay to do it. Dockery is not worth 7 million Jason Peters is a better player than Dockery and thats the reason and a good one to hold out. I think if they offered him 8 million now and told him to come to training camp on time he would take it. Your LT should be the highest paid lineman and Jason knows this. Bills are in a messed up spot for sure

Excellent post Thing is , I have been feeling this way since 2002 I agree If I was living on borrowed time, I would ....If I was owner and in my 90s, go balls out to field a winner before I go We fans deserve it Ralph deserves it too Sad really sad If the Bills makes the playoffs next year I will eat this post -
I disagree He would be a standout in the 4-3 defense and the Bills scouts even said at the time he was a fit for the defense And at the time they needed a DT Dont know why they didnt go for him, hes a better player than Whitner by far

THe Houston comeback game I was flying to Chicago on my way to the West coast During the flight the captain was giving us updates, we took off at the end of the1st quarter After each score the plane got louder and louder. We landed just in time to see the Jones INT in overtime and see Christie kick the winning field goal . Everybody that was on the flight went CRAZY in the bar we all ran to Priceless -
My analysis on why Ralph kept DJ...

Three years of playing not to win gets you 7-9, 7-9. 7-9 Jauron been in the league to long and you cant reteach his coaching skills so we are going to see the same next year.....and I think that is what makes Bills FANS pissed off they know Jauron isn't gonna change his style -
Ran out of activator spray ???
