  1. Bills sign Wayne State RB Joique Bell to a 3 year deal. What impact does this have on Beastmode's future with the Bills. Keep in mind the rumors floating around that GB has interest in Lynch. Is Bell a similar type runner as Lynch? http://www.detnews.com/article/20100424/SPORTS0101/4240411
  2. FINALLY, rational thinking. #3 will be huge. Our luck in the past 4 years was terrible. A ball bounce in a different direction or a yard or 2 here or there or players playing smart football (unlike the NE opener or Losman's fumble in NY) and we win more games. I believe we will be in playoff contention but ultimately miss. 2011 is a different story- assuming that there is a '11 season. Nice to see some optimism here becuase I'm tired of all the bitching.
  3. I guess you drank the Kool-Aid too! JK. I can't see why so many posters find that it's beyond the realm of belief that the Bills could actually win 9 games this year. Thats what 10 years of poo poo flavored football will do to some people I guess.
  4. Your point about Maybin..... I completely agree! As to some of you others, I just don't see how you feel that we will win fewer than 6 games. I've said this before: We won 6 games in spite of Dick Jauron and his bumbling clownery (yes- it's a word) of coaches and also in spite of massive injuries. Fact. Our O line will be better. Levetre, Wood will no longer be rookies and will be better players (assuming Wood is 100%). Fact Wood, Bell, Hangy and Levetre will have 1 season playing together and therefore should show noticible improvement. The Bills had terrible luck last year (CLE, JAX and NE Opener). Even if we go from having no luck to just having terrible luck, it will be an improvement. Combined with an improved roster and real coaching..... I think the Bills will end up between 7-9 -- 9-7 (but will miss the playoffs).
  5. Alan Faneca, hands down. I hope we make a serious effort to get him. Do you think that the Jets have any interest in Marshawn? Thy have an aging LT who won't play every down and Greene (who looks pretty good). They just got rid of Leon Washington and their workhorse Thomas Jones. Marshawn would immediately compete for the starting spot on that team. Actually, I think if he were on that team last year instead of Jones, his numbers would have been better than what Jones did. Another bonus for the Jets-- Since Lynch consistently has his best games against the Jets, by taking him from us they eliminate that problem! What do you think? I say Faneca and a 3rd or 4th for Lynch On a side note, TO would be nice to have back, but it's time for our young guys to spread their wings. If we were on the verge of the SB, then I would say bring TO back in.
  6. The only picks that I really have issue (and not a big issue) with are Easley and Brown. I guess if Nix and Co really don't think that Steve Johnson and Hardy can contribute, then the Easley pick was warrented. I would have like to see the Bills take an OT or LB here. Brown.... I can't see any reason why they picked him. By passing Clausen, and McCoy, Buffalo pretty much admited that they were sticking with Trent, Brohm and Fitz for 1 more year. What good does it do to bring in another QB who will need to be developed- because lets face it. He will not be the starter! I gave them a solid B at this time
  7. For what it's worth, he got a draft grade of 5.4 on NFL drafttracker. Highest of the round, so far!
  8. Anyone with Insider care to summarize, or is it just more speculative drivel from ESPN?
  9. It doesn't mean that at all. I think Chan and Nix realized that the most importants fixes this year are on the lines. This year's QB crop was weak and trading for Campbell is still arguable at best. If our QBs fail this year, next year we will go all in to get a QB
  10. Good points, but I agree that it all starts with the OLine. With that being said though, D line was a huge need of our. Nix and Co decided to focus on our ability to stop the run, and I'm ok with that. We won 6 games last year IN SPITE of our O line. of our 10 losses a considerable number were because our defense was completely gased out. I guess Nix's rationalle is that it's better to completely fix 1 unit (D line) than to halfway fix 2 units (OT, NT/DE). I'm coming around to these picks and I'm excited for the season.
  11. Look, I get what they are doing. They decided to focus on D. But 1 OT would greatly increase our chances of being competative. Maybe he wouldn't be a starter, but a quality back-up-- somone who will eventually be a starter. But I'm not a GM so I guess I got to be patient.
  12. This sucks. I though Nix said that LT was a need.... Ruined my night listening to this!
  13. no Clausen. McCoy or a 3rd or 4th round QB? Maybe we'll keep who we have?
  14. THANK. YOU. I don't know why people cant see this. Yeah, maybe he would have been there in the 3rd, but why risk it. Buddy wanted a NT and this was the guy he wanted. I still say we trade back into the 2nd.
  15. QUICKCHOMP: Do you have a link for this. To me their rabid interest in Tebow was the most vexing part of last night. If it turned out to be untrue, I'd feel much better
  16. I have to disagree with you on this one. The Spiller pick was a lot of things, to include a marketing ploy. Furthermore, if their supposed hardcore interest in Tebow has any shred of truth to it, that to would only refute your claim.
  17. No, no, you're missing my point. What bothers me is that the Bills seemed so willing to mortgage their future on a QB that would basically be a project. I'm bothered because that doesn't seem very smart of our F.O.
  18. Spiller, fine. Wasn't my #1 choice. What really bothers me about tonight though, is that Nix seemed so willing to give up SO much for Tebow. It just doesn't make sense. If it's true and they even considered giving up a 2,3 and 4, then I worry about the future of this team. Hopefully Ralph wasn't the one pushing it.
  19. We're lucky. Idiots like McDaniels won't always be there in the future to save the Bills from their own ineptitude Seriously, what was Nix thinking? Is it possible that it was a ploy?
  20. It sucks, but i think we're going to have a tough time getting rid of Lynch
