Although I thought going into the season we were an 8-8 team- our poor performance on the field is not what's really troubling me. Whats bothering me is the play of our rookies. Nix is supposed to be a draft wizard. He's now been with the Bills (this time around) for 2 drafts, yet who do we have to show for it??? Spiller, Wood, Levetre, Byrd maybe. The Jury is still out on all of these players. Sure Spiller has talent, but this year's abortion of a team isn't exactly the perfect show case for him. Wood and Levetre- they appear to be solid at times but would certainly look better if we had decent tackles. Byrd was electric last year but has done nothing this year. I hope he's not a one year wonder. I think I would feel much better about Nix (and the direction he has us heading) if Troupe and Carrington show a remarkable improvement. In my opinion, those are two players that we needed to make an immediate impact. Troupe was drafted with the expectation that he could develop into a NT. Is it possible that we reached on him???? If we were to get production (or significant improvement from those two) then I think we'd be in good shape. That would mean Nix took the best player available in Spiller (who will be a gem for us in the future) and filled the NT and DE position in 1 draft- not too shabby. But if their lack of production continues, then we'll go into this draft largely in the same place we were last year. I'm very worried!

I'm not so worried about our performance on the field, I'm more worried about our FO. None of the draft picks are having any kind of impact. We'll never have good players if our FO can't get it together. So even if we go win less, we'll probably wiff on our picks next year -
OFFICIAL GAMEDAY THREAD (10/3/10): BILLS @ JETS

This is painful. What the F does this team do all week. Smoke blunts and funnel beer? I'm listening to the NYJ radio feed, and they are saying on that last TD that our D was just standing around with their hands on their hips. -
Speculation: Trent Asked To Be Cut

OF COURSE HE'S UPSET! Imagine how disappointed Dakota Fanning must be in him -
Maybin! Are you kidding me! I just said this in another post, but here goes again! He's 22 years old. Give him time. Even if he never lives up to being taken at 9 or 11 or whatever it was, he can still develop into a reliable player. Let's give him another year before we burn him at the stake.
-
I hope we don't give up on Maybin so quickly. He's 22 years old for crying out loud. He may never end up being worthy of his lofty draft position, but if he can become a solid contributor, we'd be better off.

Look, I certainly didn't expect us to with the SB, but after last year's abortion of a season, I figured that we were an 8-8 team +1/-2 wins. Chan at least had positive HCing experience coming into Buffalo. How on earth can this team be doing worse than last year? I understand we have a new defense, but the D is not the problem. Our O line is in shambles, but certainly better off than we were going into week 1 last year. I've watched both games, but it wasn't "quality watching" (I'm not a local any longer, so I've had to settle for watching games at crowded bars). How can we be doing this poorly? We're supposed to have a good draft guy in Nix but It doesn't seem like our picks are contributing all that much (at least the ones who are healthy) Best looks head and shoulders above the Spiller-- and he plays for the Lions! I don't mean to be all doom and gloom because I think in 1-2 drafts we'll be looking much better, but damn, I expected a bit more intensity from this team.

Face it Trent isn't going anywhere this year. If anyone goes, it will be marshawn.... Although I'd rather we keep him and trade Freddy. On the other hand, if J bellcan be as good as Lynch, then I wouldn't feel so bad I'd we lost him

+1 And that is what I think we'll see!

0- 6 Before We Have Chance to Win A Game

I actually thought his presser was pretty good. CG accepted blame for not having a better offensive game plan. Many of you might disagree with me, but I like the fact that he accepts responsibility. It should motivate him to come up with a better game plan next week! I think will all of the things going against our team (new defense, shaky O-line, lack of a QB with balls, no LBs) we need to give Chan 1/2 a season before we call for his head. -
Bills Fins Summary

all true. Chan DOES now know what he has. I think Trent only has 2-3 more games to show something of that. 0-4 (0-3 in the afce) would be the end of our season. If Trent dosent streach the field he will be finished -
Once again, read the OP. Obviously our offense was the reason for our loss. I was simply commenting that his mouth is growing tiresome.
-
You'll notice I didn't balame him. Certainly not saying he played poorly. I just wish dante would shut up. He's got a bad case of the Rex Ryan's.
-
Why can't he just shut the F up? It's going to be q ling season if our QB won't let it fly

One of the guys in my College Fraternity is now an F15 fighter pilot in the Air Force. I found out the other day that he's going to be one of the pilots flying over the stadium just before kickoff-- He's also a Bills fan! How's that for a good omen! Hopefully it's a sign that our team is on the way up! Go Bills

Ouchies! My poor ears hurt *Sarcasm* -
Additionally, why would a player risk injury to play in a meaningless game? Unlike the Probowl- which is an honor to play in, players would risk injury just to prove that they can beat a college team? I don't think so. You'd also have to assume that they'd want to get paid.
-
Something about this seems mean spirited and wrong. Why would the lowest NFL team want to highlight the fact that they suck-- by playing the best college team. Even if the game turned out to be close, I would imagine that the NFL team might turn dirty just to ensure that they won. Still though, I can't imagine any instance where the college team would win, unless of course the entire NFL team had a case of the runs.

Contrary to what I said earlier, if LT can run like he is tonight for the duration of the season, there won't be nay need for Sancheez to throw at all. Not good. Dolphins just threw a Pick
-
I'm not able to watch. According to the Box scores, the Jets aren't looking so hot either--- at least Dirty Sancheez. Something like 3-6 for 30 yards. Seems that LT is doing ok though- however who knows how long he'll go before he runs out of gas. I also don't think that Preseason is meaningless, especially starters vs starters. Just my $.02 EDIT- 5/10 for 51 yards and an INT. What a tool-- What a REACH! He'll be their Achilles this year

Are the Bills getting a swagger
saundena replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey now! I still think we are an 8-8 team, +/- 2, but we will play much better this year. The reason why I'm so confident in week 1 is that: a. We usually play the Fins tough b. Game is being played in Buffalo.... The home opener c. Virtually no tape will exist on our team Now, week two at GB is a different story that will be a hard game
