  1. Agreed. On paper, I believe that our secondary is better than the Jets. It's just that taken as a whole, the rest of the Jets D was much better than ours last year- not to mention, the coaching. Let's just hope that we can be at least average against the run because with our Pass D, I believe we will be a top 10 unit!
  2. Well said. There is only so much we can do in a given offseason. Chan will get all he can out of these guys.
  3. Our qb situation is what it is- unless one of our guys has a breakout season or Levi is lights out in camp/preseason then qb will remain as a position of need. That being said, I feel thigpen brings more to the plate than Fitz. Sure fitz has some scrambling abilities and has shown that he has a set of balls, but thigpen has been more impressive given his set of circumstances.
  4. Don't know how, but I did make it past the fourth grade!
  5. I would be fine with this.... as long as it is Fitz that they cut. I still feel there is some unexplored potential with TE and therefore worth keeping around for this season. Fitz is a known quantity to whom I say "no thank you"
  6. I don't have access to Insider. Can someone please summarize- unless of course it's just a bunch of speculative drivel!
  7. Phew. I though this was going to be a "lets trade for Albert" post. Agree with everything you say. Sure he would rather play the position that he's fit for, but London Fletcher is right- This is a team sport and he should be there with his team.
  8. I feel good about all of this. After next year's draft we will be set. Hopefully there is football though!
  9. No doubt whatsoever in my mind that we win at least 7 games. We've definately improved since last year. Assuming they play in '11 we will be a very good team
  10. I agree that he may not be welcomed back into the NFL- no arguements there. I just think he is Jim Kelly's Ace in the Sleeve. Trump is a Bill fan. He and Kelly go way back. Now consider the the allure of a new stadium and casino located in The NY side of the Falls. . . . All irresistable things to the Donald. I'll welcome anyone- regardless of their history- as a Bills owner as long as they promise to keep the team in Western NY
  11. no. He'd keep them in place until he could build a stadium and casino with hotel in the ny side of the falls
  12. Ive said all along that I think it's gonna be Donald Trump...
  13. I think your right. Jets and Pats could be 4-0 but I have a feeling that it will be pretty tight in the AFC East with the Jests and Cheatriots on top. I will say this though. Hopefully Billecheat figures out how to pick apart the Jests Defense...
  14. Agreed. But if Buffalo was a larger market (a la Boston), I think you would find that this current team would prolly be 10 pts higher.
  15. +1. I've been saying this for a while. It also remains to be seen how his LapBand procedure will affect him. Rex Ryan might find that he lacks the energy and drive to effectively coach a football team....
  16. I'm kinda sick of talking and reading about the draft. So I was sitting in the BUF airport and it struck me how incredibly awesome it would be to have a longer NFL season- say perhaps 18 games. Of course it's unlikely that this would ever happen because players would want more money and football is taxing enough of a players body, BUT the league would generate more revenue. This is what I was thinking: The NFL regular season would begin the week following pre-season (like usual). After every 6 games, a team would get a bye week and so the regular season would effectively be broken up into 3rds. Now, half of the NFL teams (16 of them) would begin their season two weeks following preseason. That way the bye weeks would not all happen at the same time and would be staggered. It might not seem fair to start the season earlier, but since these teams would end the regular season early, they would have an extra week to prepare for the playoffs should they qualify! I would also propose one of the extra games be an out of conference game assigned by the league, and the other game be an out of division regional game decided upon by the owners. I think it would be cool to play teams like CLE or PIT every year! What are your thoughs? I'm I crazzzzzy?
  17. I'm sorry, but your outta your gorde. As I (and many others on TSW) have said, we had the perfect **** storm working against us last year (Jauron, bad luck, injuries, fired OC) and still managed 6 wins. Considering the NE and CLE games, we easily are 8-8. There is no way that we finish worse than we did last year. NO WAY. I actually have faith in Nix and Chan. Maybe we won't have the best O line in the league, but I have to believe that they think our O line is good enough to keep us in games. Spiller will mask a lot of our woes.
  18. Yeah yea, I had a brain fart, but I fixed it with the edit. But the question remains, Does Bell make Lynch a goner?
  19. Bills sign Wayne State RB Joique Bell to a 3 year deal. What impact does this have on Beastmode's future with the Bills. Keep in mind the rumors floating around that GB has interest in Lynch. Is Bell a similar type runner as Lynch? http://www.detnews.com/article/20100424/SPORTS0101/4240411
  20. FINALLY, rational thinking. #3 will be huge. Our luck in the past 4 years was terrible. A ball bounce in a different direction or a yard or 2 here or there or players playing smart football (unlike the NE opener or Losman's fumble in NY) and we win more games. I believe we will be in playoff contention but ultimately miss. 2011 is a different story- assuming that there is a '11 season. Nice to see some optimism here becuase I'm tired of all the bitching.
  21. I guess you drank the Kool-Aid too! JK. I can't see why so many posters find that it's beyond the realm of belief that the Bills could actually win 9 games this year. Thats what 10 years of poo poo flavored football will do to some people I guess.
  22. Your point about Maybin..... I completely agree! As to some of you others, I just don't see how you feel that we will win fewer than 6 games. I've said this before: We won 6 games in spite of Dick Jauron and his bumbling clownery (yes- it's a word) of coaches and also in spite of massive injuries. Fact. Our O line will be better. Levetre, Wood will no longer be rookies and will be better players (assuming Wood is 100%). Fact Wood, Bell, Hangy and Levetre will have 1 season playing together and therefore should show noticible improvement. The Bills had terrible luck last year (CLE, JAX and NE Opener). Even if we go from having no luck to just having terrible luck, it will be an improvement. Combined with an improved roster and real coaching..... I think the Bills will end up between 7-9 -- 9-7 (but will miss the playoffs).
  23. Alan Faneca, hands down. I hope we make a serious effort to get him. Do you think that the Jets have any interest in Marshawn? Thy have an aging LT who won't play every down and Greene (who looks pretty good). They just got rid of Leon Washington and their workhorse Thomas Jones. Marshawn would immediately compete for the starting spot on that team. Actually, I think if he were on that team last year instead of Jones, his numbers would have been better than what Jones did. Another bonus for the Jets-- Since Lynch consistently has his best games against the Jets, by taking him from us they eliminate that problem! What do you think? I say Faneca and a 3rd or 4th for Lynch On a side note, TO would be nice to have back, but it's time for our young guys to spread their wings. If we were on the verge of the SB, then I would say bring TO back in.
  24. The only picks that I really have issue (and not a big issue) with are Easley and Brown. I guess if Nix and Co really don't think that Steve Johnson and Hardy can contribute, then the Easley pick was warrented. I would have like to see the Bills take an OT or LB here. Brown.... I can't see any reason why they picked him. By passing Clausen, and McCoy, Buffalo pretty much admited that they were sticking with Trent, Brohm and Fitz for 1 more year. What good does it do to bring in another QB who will need to be developed- because lets face it. He will not be the starter! I gave them a solid B at this time
