  1. Aside from that, they were considering him in 2015 but eventually settled on John Miller
  2. It would shock me if they didn't make a big push to sign Daryl Williams in FA
  3. Hard for me to put Elway ahead of Kelly when I watched Kelly outplay him in basically every matchup between the two I know that's not exactly a fair measuring stick, but it's hard to shake
  4. It can't be a top 5 for me; has to be a top 4. Brady Montana Unitas Manning After those four there's such a drastic drop off
  5. Even if it were close in terms of preseason performance (it wasn't), there's one factor that I haven't seen mentioned: It will be MUCH easier and FAR more palatable for the team to go from Nate to Allen than vice versa.
  6. Not sure to be honest--unless they plan to make a big push for some offensive linemen and/or pass rushers
  7. Perhaps a trade, but more likely they'll sit on it; wait to see if they want to use any of it on extensions for Groy, Benjamin, or Davis. They may also choose to carry a good amount of it over to 2019, when they're projected to be among the league leaders in cap space.
  8. Grasu and Odhiambo are definitely tire-kick-worthy IMO
  9. Um, because he was a former 1st round pick that had the speed element that was missing from the current WR group and he had a chance to get him for a song? Seriously, what are the chances that a 2019 7th round pick is what makes the difference for this team? Coleman, had he panned out here, could have been a difference maker. That's smart GMing. It's the same reason that a team like NE deals a pick for Kony Ealy--you take chances on talented players when the price is low. This is a concept called "buying low". Look it up.
  10. Maybe he surprised some of you... ? I was a Yarbrough guy in the lead up to the 2016 draft. Had him as a 6th rounder.
  11. Thank YOU Bill. I hope you're feeling well and ready to enjoy another fall season
  12. Mid round pick is my guess
  13. I have no idea how you drew that conclusion from what I wrote
  14. Yep. That's more or less my point: good enough to play safe football and make a big play here or there is often sufficient to allow a team to sneak into the playoffs as a WC.
  15. Someone watched a MUCH different player than I saw. I saw a guy that was just barely good enough to win 10 games on the back of a top-3 defense, which made him better than the other guy, but still not good enough. Oddly, that sounds more like Tuh-rod than any other recent Bills QB.
  16. Not necessarily a cut, but watch for the Packers to trade an OT...I believe it'll be Bulaga
  17. Good info and perspective Dave (as usual). As a side note: I just watched yesterday's game for the first time. I have no idea how anyone could be all that upset with Allen. He looked like he wasn't up to speed yet, but in light of that I thought he handled the pressure well and threw the ball fine.
  18. He's no Jay Clocker
  19. Groy is snapping to Allen on Sunday; pretty sure he will win the job
  20. This is what happens when you draft an athlete instead of a football player
  21. I'm holding off on those in the event that Allen turns out to be the best QB in the class--and then certain specific folks may (or may not) get called out in very specific LAMPish ways
  22. This is the exact thing that I said about Allen leading up to the draft: fix the footwork and develop some touch on the short-area boundary throws and you've got yourself a complete QB.
  23. I fall between you and Gunner on the QB debate. I am closer to where you fall in that I believe QB should always be the choice with the caveat that you have to have at least some measure of belief that the guy will become a franchise QB. I don't care if it's a 10% chance; that's enough for me. With Lynch, I simply couldn't see it. At all. I understand you feel differently, but if I truly can't see it in any way/shape/form, I wouldn't take the guy. (and as you know, I'm on record that my pick in 2016 would've been Myles Jack all day long). Of course, if you're a team that's desperate, like the Bills were in 2013, then the pendulum swings back toward QB-or-bust, which is why I agreed with the EJ pick. How's that for non-committal?
