these Forbes rankings always piss me off and in my mind they have severely cheapened Forbes' credibility. These ratings are unfair to places like Buffalo and Cleveland. It doesnt take into account architecture, arts, community, foods, activities, schools, state colleges, etc. It takes a select group of criteria almost devised for pulling shots on certain cities. These ratings always take a dump Buffalo as well because they dont take into account the immediate surrounding areas. They also assume that everyone prefers 90 degree weather 365 days a year as opposed to a change in seasons.

I moved away in 2003. Lived in various locations in Connecticut for 3+ years. Talk about misery! Dying to move back home I landed a great job in the area. However I am required to be out of WNY 94% of the time. Im in South Jersey/Philly area. Its not too bad... but I would love to stay in WNY full time. Connecticut is the worst place in our civilization.

An Alternative to a New Stadium for Buffalo
May Day 10 replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills have room to increase the ticket prices. Especially if the team on the field succeeds. When the team was 3-0, 4-0, and 5-1 2 seasons ago, everyone I knew was calling me and asking me if I knew of or had any extra tickets. Looking at stubhug or ebay, tickets were going for double or more of their face value. -
I think it will go: Russia Canada Sweden Darkhorse 1 Finland USA Czechs Rooting for USA though. It feels good to as I couldnt root for them when the team was composed of all meat heads and NY Rangers.

Bills #30 in 2010-2011 Rankings-Ouch
May Day 10 replied to gobills28's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
sadly, I think he is right. -
Niagara falls couldn't even maintain a short season class a new york penn league team. Its beyond disgusting up there. I'm not trying to flame people but it smells up there. Bad and toxic smelling air. Most of the city is garbage unless you are at the outlet mall or on the brink of the falls looking at canada.

Before We Start Complaining About The Ticket Prices...
May Day 10 replied to BillsPhan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have always said I can afford an increase in these low ticket prices in the conversations about buffalo not viable as an nfl city. I don't like the moves they have made, but I will. Not complain my tickets went up $9 a game. -
Back to goodells comment you can look at it 2 ways. 1. Posivitive. He still considers buffalo salvagable and viable in the nfl juggernaut. Enough so to try to lobby for improvements or a new venue. 2. Negative. He know it is unlikely to happen and he is planting the seeds to blame a relocation on the failure to get shiny new toys funded

More reason to stay away from Vick.
May Day 10 replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It seems like the people who cant get past the dog fighting thing are those who are stuck on defending Vick. The point of the article and this thread is Vick's admission that he never gave 100% or took the time and effort to do well. He accepted mediocrity. Yeah, maybe that would be good for the Bills, but I dont want to see that. Why are people saying that Vick is going to be "more motivated" now? He wasnt that motivated last year. He was mediocre for the Eagles. I live in Philly so I get all the analysis and see most of the games. They needed him, and he was a nonfactor, other than 1 second half in a blow-out game. Money isnt a huge motivator. He won a court case and recovered a huge chunk of money. Fans here want McNabb out of here with the strength of 1,000 suns, but I havent heard one mention that they vision Vick as the starter or even on the team at all next season. He is a throw away. There is no way this "dog" is going to learn new tricks. There is no way to assume that he will suddenly be a model captain on a football team. There is heavy evidence that he will be the opposite of that. And his quarterbacking skills have always been marginal, even in his prime, which he has let pass him by due to stupid decisions like breaking the law and not putting in the effort. -
More reason to stay away from Vick.

people will still defend him here. The funniest theories are the ones that say that he will somehow "groom" our drafted QB of the future. -

the article doesnt have much to do with his crimes. It is about his admission he doesnt give his all and accepts mediocrity. -
This "football guy" line is repeated by everyone there and makes me skeptical as it is in direct response to fans' criticism of the front office and Russ Brandon running the show. Ralph Wilson said that about 50 times in the Nix promotion press conference, and I have heard it reapeated by everyone since.

I would be happy. i think it may be a little far-fetched...
-
This is the truth. Maybe he would be a minor upgrade from what we have, but there are many minor upgrades out there... without the distractions and BS. I dont want this guy here influencing any players. signing vick IMO would be a completely wrong direction for the team at the QB position.

Community Owned Team Like Green Bay
May Day 10 replied to Buffchester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it will all come down to how serious the NFL is (if at all) about keeping a franchise in Buffalo. They would have to make an exception to the rules and someone with money and power would have to put the effort into organizing this. The NFL rule now is something like a team has to have no more than 30 or 35 owners and 1 of the owners has to own a majority... something like that. -
Cmon Beerball. The Bills still have a whole lot of misery in store for us.

St Louis to Los Angeles New England to Toronto Miami to San Antonio problem solved

not to mention ticket revenue is split 60/40 with the away team

yeah, hopefully Vick can rub off on a young promising quarterback. That would be positive. -
ESPN Truth and Rumors: Buffalo and Vick
May Day 10 replied to sharper802's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This would be horrible. It would be counter productive to the rebuilding of this team it would confirm that the front office is only F'ing with us and is F.O.S. Barnum and Bailey Circus I dont think Vick is very good at all, and he is a subhuman
