McCoy's nightclub fight and the ongoing investigation
May Day 10 replied to lowghen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like cops. groups of off-duty cops in a bar/club often can start feces with people and look for trouble. I have seen it and experienced it. More than any other 'group'. It isnt anti-police. It is just personal experience. Whenever I hear about an incident in a bar involving off-duty cops, I can imagine some of the events that took place and things that were said... and likely be correct -
I dont watch it now... But if it were formatted as a "special presentation" and named 1st and 2nd all pro teams... with some peripheral stuff (regular season awards, maybe some skills competitions, fun stuff, maybe a fun flag game or a couple of the 'pro bowlers' playing madden with the 2 squads, maybe mix some celebrities in there)... I would absolutely watch it. Plus whoever was a pro-bowler, would be a pro-bowler. You wouldnt have everyone avoiding the game and having Tyrod Taylor as a "pro-bowler" as a feather in his cap (just as an example).

McCoy's nightclub fight and the ongoing investigation
May Day 10 replied to lowghen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been to drinking establishments with both NFL players and off duty police. Only one of those 2 groups have tried to start fights with me and friends (multiple times). Not saying that is exactly what is happening here.... but right when I hear "drinking establishment", "off-duty cops", and "2:30 AM", I tend to think the other group was baited and not entirely at fault. With that said, NFL players need to walk away -

This was my first thought. "Off Duty Cops" almost always seem like trouble when at clubs, drinking establishments, etc. In my experience, the biggest A-Holes looking for trouble in those scenes are off duty cops. I could imagine things getting real bad if its ODC vs people of stature in a DMC. -
Old Throwback Sports Gear

ha.... I remember in college, we were watching a Sabres Montreal playoff game, and a guy was over our place. He was kind of 'metal' and wasnt into sports. The pure delight when he noticed that a guy was called "Satan" is something I still snicker at from time to time -

There is no time period. A lot of variables. There is design, rarity, how good the team was, etc... IMO the slugs and the dark blue Bills were so overproduced and also terrible and not even in a cool way. I saw someone in a slug jersey last night and it just looks awful. Glad to say I never/refused to get anything with the slug on it. Maybe in about 50 years, they will be very uncommon and cool to break out. Sabres goat heads are almost there. I see some people say they would like to see them brought out once a season or so. I think it would be cool to do a retro night once a season, play music only from 96-2005 and also honor those teams. -
Im not sure if he did it or not. Knowing everything.... even this "critical" "evidence" not included or glossed over in the documentary is convincing (if not unrelated to a murder) There is just so many bizarre things and aspects that make no sense. The Prosecution's detail of events do not make sense. No part of Dassey's migrating story make any sense. The evidence is shrouded with questions. I cant believe that 1: the trial took place where it did... and was subsequently denied any sort of retrial at a new venue. and also 2: Jurors couldnt find reasonable doubt. Especially on the Dassey side. To me, the only thing that has made sense is that one "Reddit poster's" story about how Tadych and Bobby Dassey did it and both them and the police were simultaneously framing Avery.

NFL Live: Bills teams worst Super Bowl opponents as per Jaws
May Day 10 replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes to the 85 Patriots Id say the 00 Giants 95 Chargers were huge underdogs, like 19 points. The 96 Patriots were also a supposed tomato can vs the Packers and 14 point underdogs Something needs to be said for the 2007 Giants as well (even though they won) Falcons vs the Broncos? -
NFL abandonment of St. Louis ups the ante in Buffalo
May Day 10 replied to boater's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just read the column. He is not incorrect and does not in any way suggest the Pegulas might relocate the Bills. Actually he brings up the very valid quandary of new stadium in the next decade vs Pegulas committment vs NFL vs Erie County/NYS. -
Belichick coached his team out of the superbowl
May Day 10 replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have never seen Brady look so weathered. His arms were all taped/bandaged. His ankles were taped up like balloons. He was often slow to get up. I have seen him take more abuse in the past half of this season than the rest of his career combined. That cant continue on his body pushing 40 no matter how many green drinks he has. I swear, I think his uniform got dirty like 5 times prior to 2008. I think it is also clear that at this point (before offseason), the Patriots, even with Brady are ripe for the picking without Gronkowski and to some extent Edelman. I would predict that Brady has one or two more good runs in him unless they can somehow construct a top offensive line. On paper, the Jets, Dolphins, and Bills should be able to bring the heat 6 times. -

I listened to that part on the radio and the radio announcers were freaking out at that decision. I also think the coach who can walk on water froze in the final minute of the superbowl last year and if Carroll didn't blow it, all the attention would have been on belicheat -

If they start out 2-4 or worse next year watch for moving trux -
Speculators are the biggest driver in high ticket sales. It is the reason the sabres have had a waiting list for going on 10 years despite very poor results, the reason the bills will always have a waiting list once they get their act together, and why the comparisons between December games in 1990 vs 2015 are silly

I agree with this. We have to shake the negativity and feeling of inferiority in this town. -

The bills are safe in buffalo barring any major catastrophe with the pegula family. I was almost certain they would move too as wilson was in his final years too. They're fine now. Enjoy the security -
Howard Simon Ready to Leave WGR?
May Day 10 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I agree. I like Jeremy White. I think he is a solid radio guy, strong voice, has good opinions... also 'loves' the work as he still has the passion to attend and watch sports (whereas some of the other hosts there seem almost burdoned by having to watch an odd game). I often dont agree with White but its not because he is an idiot. White IMO cant be with another 'young' guy. It feels like they talk down to the listener for a lack of a better description. I think he needs the older/goofier guy, Simon-like. Maybe he just needs a 'goofier' guy. He does well when Riter is on with him, those 2 are entertaining. -
Denver D calling out Brady and Gronk

Looks like extra cheating will be in store for the broncos. -
If the Bills had a few decent years, I am positive the waiting list would be pretty solid and the Bills would have the ability to raise prices steadily. We are talking a team who hasn't made the playoffs in 16 years and haven't won a playoff game in nearly 20. The Packers have had more than 20 playoff games since we have had one. The Bills haven't hosted a playoff game since I was 18 years old. I'm getting towards 40 years old now. Not only that, we have had one meaningful game in the last week of the season. I also don't want to hear nonsense about December ticket sales in 1992. You know its a completely different animal now with both the NFL and the ticket industry. You just create the perpetual demand and ticket prices can be raised almost indefinitely. The Sabres are proof of this. Couldnt even sell out games in the 89-94-ish era with great teams in the small Aud. I think the Packers also are a beneficiary of playing in a very small venue (by NFL standards) for so long. To just think that the people here in WNY and Southern Ontario will fork over more for amenities and everything will be fixed is a mistake. A competitive team is the most important amenity here. At least hopefully we can see the effect a competitive team can have before any major decisions need to be made and we throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Niagara county is more corrupt, nothing gets done, and has a fraction of the tax base. It's not even in the conversation. Last year was a 100 year weather event. People were in danger. Football takes a back seat

I am pretty certain in will be sterile. Assuming its an indoor stadium, all indoor stadiums seem very sterile to me. On TV and the few I have been to in person. You watch a game from DET, DAL, IND, STL, ATL, it always seems to be muffled, dark, every game is miscellaneous. Anyways, I know Pats fans who long for the day when they can go to their old venue. Some actually go to one Pats game a season and it is the one played here. Like Kirby said... one of the "reasons" will be so they can properly "stratify" the seats. You will have the wealthy closest to the field and on the sidelines. The common fans will be pushed into the corners and far away. This will dampen the atmosphere even more. I'm sure there will also be all sorts of amneties and peripheral B.S. that will take away from the game. How many Sabres fans wish they could have the Aud back? I would probably pay much more than my current STH price for that. We will feel the same way with Ralph Wilson Stadium. Maybe we can get the best of all worlds with RWS? We can keep the nostalgia, site lines, amazing fan involvement... but also revamp it in a way that makes more money for the NFL, and at the same time, keep costs more reasonable. For most of the over the top perks going into these new venues, I do not believe we have enough clientele. The thing that drives the NFL in this town are the common fans. I would say it is similar to Green Bay. Do they have a lot of over-the-top perks at that stadium? I think it is also important to imagine how crazy ticket sales would get if the Bills can crack into the top 1/3 of the league for any period of time. We would absolutely have a locked in waiting list and they would be able to steadily drive ticket prices up each year and people will happily pay. It will also become a destination for all NFL fans like I mentioned.

Maddog Sports segment on the non hiring of Marrone

The Bills (and many posters here) were banging the "continuity" drum hard with him.
