  1. Well, when it looked like the Bills were a threat to move, I thought it would be a possibility if not a probability. Now that they are staying, it seems unlikely.... But a Bulls team on-par with Temple is attainable and I don't see it taking away from the Bills' popularity. They would never become a 'power'. The catch 22 is though I dont think average Buffalo sports fans would support that (Temple-level) anyways, The basketball thing is interesting though. I did see Russ Brandon said they are going to try to get NBA preseason games
  2. yeah, it was really a joke to be honest... The real wall that needs to crumble is the blackout restrictions. If I want to watch the Sabres, I MUST subscribe to a cable/satellite service (and I think DISH doesnt get it?) Also, Im an Indians fan. we for some reason are in their "market". In order to watch the Indians, I need to subscribe to Directv, and add a $12/mo sports package so I can get Sports Time Ohio. Its a racket. In Philly, you can only watch the Phillies, Flyers, and 76ers if you subscribe to Comcast. Once the blackout restrictions are done... then cords will be cut. I would absolutely pay for stand-alone MLB/NHL streaming services if I could get my home teams. I think this is why they were so eager to 'settle'.
  3. Bruce mcnall they spent loads of money and were aggressively raiding the Oilers dynasty including gretzky
  4. yeah, just saw that one. Doesnt look good Can we start pleading the ideal gas law? Preponderance of the evidence?
  5. It looks like the person they are trying to prove is McCoy... is trying to hold another guy back from the pile?
  6. in the hypothetical of a new stadium downtown as well as mutual interest from UB to play there... would it be in Pegula's interest to possibly donate money to the UB program in an effort to push them in the direction of program growth? A high level (meaning a power conference) program would certainly be a compliment to the One Buffalo thing and the whole 'campus' downtown.
  7. I would have to say that is incorrect. The Knoxes bid on expansion and Buffalo was unjustly bypassed for St. Louis.
  8. UB seems desperate to get some traction for people coming to their games. The stadium is awful though. I like the MAC. I tried. I bought season tickets and attended 1 game and that was it (also went to the RWS game). It is like you are watching a game from the moon. I do think they are putting a lot of money into that stadium, but only for exclusive alumni clubs and such. Basically, they just need to tear it down and build the seats closer to the field and to each other. I think for NYC/EC/Pegula/DN to allow UB to play home games in the new stadium would be a smart move. They all have interest in foot traffic downtown and it also further justifies the expense and it is a handful more events every year. Im sure they would get a rake of concessions and such too. It makes sense for UB as well as it will be a state of the art field, would help with recruiting, and make the sky the limit for program growth, hosting events, etc... I'm sure all the details, contractual stuff, insurance, T&Cs, etc are fairly complicated... but I would think this would be a likelihood. That said, the optics of a 60K-70K stadium with 10K people is rough. They would have to really work on getting people there, make it fun. Its a tough sell. TBH, Buffalo isnt that great of a sports town. We love the Bills and Sabres... Bandits too I guess. But after that, support for lower-level stuff is a bit difficult. If the program was able to get some traction and go the route Temple took... I think they could get into one of the major conferences and maybe could earn more 'common' support from the locals.
  9. at least Incognito seems to be a good guy who takes his career seriously.
  10. If it's on campus I think. A few venues off campus allow... probably some other red tape too.... Anyways, I would go to ub games but that venue is comical how bad it is.
  11. Do we know the officers' 40 times? May need some RBs
  12. Let's wait until the sentencing at least
  13. I like cops. groups of off-duty cops in a bar/club often can start feces with people and look for trouble. I have seen it and experienced it. More than any other 'group'. It isnt anti-police. It is just personal experience. Whenever I hear about an incident in a bar involving off-duty cops, I can imagine some of the events that took place and things that were said... and likely be correct
  14. I dont watch it now... But if it were formatted as a "special presentation" and named 1st and 2nd all pro teams... with some peripheral stuff (regular season awards, maybe some skills competitions, fun stuff, maybe a fun flag game or a couple of the 'pro bowlers' playing madden with the 2 squads, maybe mix some celebrities in there)... I would absolutely watch it. Plus whoever was a pro-bowler, would be a pro-bowler. You wouldnt have everyone avoiding the game and having Tyrod Taylor as a "pro-bowler" as a feather in his cap (just as an example).
  15. I have been to drinking establishments with both NFL players and off duty police. Only one of those 2 groups have tried to start fights with me and friends (multiple times). Not saying that is exactly what is happening here.... but right when I hear "drinking establishment", "off-duty cops", and "2:30 AM", I tend to think the other group was baited and not entirely at fault. With that said, NFL players need to walk away
  16. This was my first thought. "Off Duty Cops" almost always seem like trouble when at clubs, drinking establishments, etc. In my experience, the biggest A-Holes looking for trouble in those scenes are off duty cops. I could imagine things getting real bad if its ODC vs people of stature in a DMC.
  17. I say they should just have a kind of fun spirited skills competition type of thing with a cool format. Name all-pro teams and that's the all stars. No game. Have portions of the show looking back at the season. Maybe do postseason awards too.
  18. ha.... I remember in college, we were watching a Sabres Montreal playoff game, and a guy was over our place. He was kind of 'metal' and wasnt into sports. The pure delight when he noticed that a guy was called "Satan" is something I still snicker at from time to time
  19. nope. You covered most of it. You either have to learn to live with it or move on. It is bad, and it isnt going away.
  20. There is no time period. A lot of variables. There is design, rarity, how good the team was, etc... IMO the slugs and the dark blue Bills were so overproduced and also terrible and not even in a cool way. I saw someone in a slug jersey last night and it just looks awful. Glad to say I never/refused to get anything with the slug on it. Maybe in about 50 years, they will be very uncommon and cool to break out. Sabres goat heads are almost there. I see some people say they would like to see them brought out once a season or so. I think it would be cool to do a retro night once a season, play music only from 96-2005 and also honor those teams.
  21. Im not sure if he did it or not. Knowing everything.... even this "critical" "evidence" not included or glossed over in the documentary is convincing (if not unrelated to a murder) There is just so many bizarre things and aspects that make no sense. The Prosecution's detail of events do not make sense. No part of Dassey's migrating story make any sense. The evidence is shrouded with questions. I cant believe that 1: the trial took place where it did... and was subsequently denied any sort of retrial at a new venue. and also 2: Jurors couldnt find reasonable doubt. Especially on the Dassey side. To me, the only thing that has made sense is that one "Reddit poster's" story about how Tadych and Bobby Dassey did it and both them and the police were simultaneously framing Avery.
  22. When is Edelman up? You would think he will be pretty cut-throat in getting paid.
  23. Yes to the 85 Patriots Id say the 00 Giants 95 Chargers were huge underdogs, like 19 points. The 96 Patriots were also a supposed tomato can vs the Packers and 14 point underdogs Something needs to be said for the 2007 Giants as well (even though they won) Falcons vs the Broncos?
