Kim Pegula pacing nervously in the suite last night
May Day 10 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
loved their body language. especially in contrast to bob kraft who just sits there, waiting for good things owed to him so he can give his weak high fives -
the moment mcdermott and pegula won the room was when mccoy went off on trump, they held a team meeting, and management/coaches listened to the players, gave them freedom to express themselves, AND had their back.

When I'm walking to games with my kid, I despise people stepping in our path asking if we 'have any tickets'. -

Yes, I have been to a few. I remember some sleazebags looking for tickets/selling tickets. -
its a hot subject. people often really boost the system they own and bash the other. i had xbox360 and converted to ps3 towards thr end of the gen. got a ps4 this round. they are very close tbh. if you want to play baseball go with ps4.

Star Wars Episode VIII - The Last Jedi thread
May Day 10 replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Can you tell me what direction they are taking it? To me, nothing seemed to really happen. New Order in a slow speed chase. Handful of rebels get away. No urgency because New Order doesn't give much reason to hate/fear them in this movie, especially without Snoke and now being run by a somewhat likable conflicted bad guy and a general who is used for slapstick comic relief. One dimensional characters remained one dimensional. The movie fatigued me on most of them. I really liked them at the time of the conclusion of TFA and was ready for the ride. This movie didn't take me anywhere. Didn't feel invested in the story. 2nd parts of a trilogy generally set the pins and end just before the climax of the trilogy, but there is nothing here, really. I feel disjointed from the story and really not looking forward to Episode IX as much as I would. -

Terry Pegula: "We Have to Fix Replay"
May Day 10 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pegula is right with the tone. This is a problem. It is most prevalent in NFL, but it is leaking into other leagues (NHL and MLB). The replay, as he said was installed to fix obvious on-field calls/errors. But now, it has morphed into taking an inventory of every millimeter, guessing players' intent, interpretations on what is a "catch", etc. It is a circus. NHL has broached this with the ridiculous and unnecessary 'offsides challenge'. MLB is really bad too when it comes to safe/out calls. People say 'why not get it right?". Situations like this and many others are the reason. These things damage the sport/viewing experience. If you cant figure it out in 5 minutes with 10 angles, then the officials call on the field should stand. -

no rivalry to me. completely different regions and their fans dont even care. kelly vs marino was good but mainly vecause buffalo and miami were annually #1 and 2 in the division with super bowl aspirations.

Has officiating ever NOT been a problem?
May Day 10 replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dunno. In baseball, losing contact with the bag often saves players from broken ankles and fingers/hands. The offsides thing in hockey is bad too. The reason the rule exists is so a player cant get a huge advantage getting over the line, past the defense and receive a pass. looking at it on a micro scale is silly, especially since usually several things happen between that and a goal. I dont have any problem with the linseman calling it in real time. -
ESPN: Tom Brady’s Most Dangerous Game
May Day 10 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is 40+ and is as in shape as ever. He also seems to take as many/more hits than he ever did. No QB has ever had this type of career arc, and I would say no athlete ever has had this... especially in this era in sports where youth is king. The one telltale indicator in baseball was when guys were putting up stats and staying durable into their late 30s and 40s. It just does not pass the eye test, and I don't buy the 'aw shucks I drink a lot of water and eat kale' explanation. -

I agree with this. It is also trickling into other sports as well. The NHL is making a travesty out of itself with its offsides challenge. Now we are looking at 'did he have possession?' 'did his skate lose contact with the ice?' 'the letter of the rule states xxxxx, therefore they were offside'. We dont want guys breaking in 10 feet offside on a breakaway, but this is too much. MLB is getting bad too. The worst is when a player slides into a bag and might lose contact of the base by a millimeter for a fraction of a second and you can look frame by frame. I really dont need that, the guy is safe. My team will get some and lose some. I don't need for every call and every inch to be micro-analyzed. This, was one of the main reasons I dug the snow game so much. They just played and we couldnt dissect every inch. -
