  1. I doubt it... What I'd like to see happen is Jauron getting KICKED downstairs to the DC position and still retain him and hire a new head coach with an offensive background. Someone smart enough to not call passing plays with a back up QB in the game on second and Five when the running back has been killing the opponent and they had just made a first down against a stacked box. Honestly,I don't see how Ralph Wilson can sell the fans this head coach when he gets swept in the division this badly
  2. You guys really underestimate just how frugal Ralph Wilson really is Not only will Jauron stay as head coach But Wilson won't hire a real GM either, saving him a few more million a year. My take is the guy lived through the great depression and bought this team for what? 30k+? And now its worth 800+Million? It must drive him crazy on how high the salaries have gotten to... If I recall correctly it took Bill Polian some really tough wrangling to get Wilson to put up the cash to bring in Jim Kelly.I think the only real reason he actually paid kelly is because Al Davis was courting kelly also, sending him to England with some raiderettes. I think Ralph wants the team to get into the playoffs just to put butts in the seats to keep the franchise above water. I really doubt he wants a world championship because he simply refuses hire highly talented coaches and front office personnel. He got Marv levy for a song, why pay anyone else a ton of cash.
  3. I could think of a dozen guys I'd rather see as the next Bills GM OTHER then Peterson! There is a reason he was just fired,he took a decent team coached by Dick Vermeil and handed it to Herm Edwards who then began rebuilding a team that was just rebuilt. No freaking thanks! I'd rather see Charlie Casserly as GM or better yet Bill Cowher as GM and head coach but Ralph won't pay more then 2 mil so we are stuck with Jauron.
  4. That is easy, first of all Mariucci would take the Bills play book and throw it away which would immediately make the offense less predictable. Then he would install the "west coast" offense which allows the QB to make quick short passes to his receivers, like an elongated hand off. The thing is with coaches like Mariucci they keep a cheat sheet for every down and distance and I'd be willing to bet that throwing the ball on 3rd and one isn't on that sheet, either is calling a pass play on 2nd and five to run the clock out. Trent Edwards would flourish in the properly called west coast offense,I seriously doubt "mooch" would ignore the running game like Schonert does.
  5. Do you honestly think That this Bills staff is even remotely as good as any in the AFC east? Player talent aside who is going to out coach Bilichick,Mangini,Sparano?
  6. Interesting point Its kinda sad really because to me winning is everything, not just a winning season but winning it all. If Ralph is waiting for another Polian to pop up and take control I fear he won't last that long. A genius Like Bill Polian that gets promoted through the ranks sometimes comes along once in a teams lifetime. He needs to do what the smart owners do and that is hire a brain and spare no expense. Charlie Casserly is out there doing network reporting, wonder if he would be open to a GM job ? From PFW: “When you look at Charley Casserly’s last draft in Houston, you’ve got to give him some credit. Mario Williams and DeMeco Ryans are Pro Bowl players. Eric Winston has been solid. Owen Daniels is emerging as one of the game’s best all-around tight ends. (Casserly’s) last draft was a helluva draft. The biggest problem he had in Houston was building the offensive line. He paid a lot of veterans in the supplemental draft that never panned out. But he has hit on high picks. Dunta Robinson has turned out to be a better cornerback than DeAngelo Hall. Andre Johnson has become one of the premier receivers in football. And he uncovered some late-round gems, if you can call them that — guys like (Buccaneers DE) Greg White and C.C. Brown.”
  7. C'mon now he didn't call that play. he is taking a bullet for Turd "shotgun" Schonert. The problem with Schonert and the learning on the Job is I feel he will never transition away from calling passing plays constantly. He was a back up QB in the NFL for 10 years and has that must throw on every down mentality. The 49er game and this past Jets game the Bills were owning the opponent with the running game and the second string QB is in the game and he still tries to force the pass over the run. He didn't give Lynch but one carry in that entire 4th QTR against the 49ers. What a lot of you guys don't remember is the Patriots game when the Bills were in 3rd down and one one on three different occasions and he called shotgun and a passing play, all three went incomplete and the next play was a Bills punt. So stating that, he personally killed those three drives IMO. Schonert has lost more games this year with the most moronic play calls then any one Bills player has, even JP Losman hasn't played up to the ineptitude of the horrid play calling. The responsibility of the offensive coordinator is to be able to put the offensive players into positions to make plays. Schonert puts far to much pressure on young QB's shoulders to win games instead of relying more on the ground game to help set up the pass. Its almost like he wants to pass to set up the passing game and mostly ignores the running game. The Bills rarely used play action passing this year before the Cleveland game in week 11. The one tiny glimmer of light is that Schonert has gotten better each game as the year has gone on,in fact he was doing much better in calling running plays over shotgun plays in this past Jets game. The fact remains he still reverted to a pass play in a crucial situation when the Bills simply needed to keep running the ball against the Jets. If Dick Jauron had any real input into the play calling he would have thrown the shotgun formation away and made Schonert only call only play action passes. That shotgun formation has screwed JP and Edwards up so badly this season.Man I just hate that play.
  8. Going to be interesting to see what these next two games bring. I doubt the Bills win either and finish with a 6-10 record. Considering the soft schedule this year and the fact Tom Brady was out all year, the Bills should have finished 10-6 I just don't see Dick Jauron out coaching Bill Bilichick ...ever and the Bills need someone who can actually challenge him in a season.
  9. Particularly true when you have a back that was banging like Lynch was, he was killing them. Anyone who watched that first Jets game at Buffalo recalls that the Bills were handled by the Jets and I'm sure they wanted some payback for that first game. They were about to get the payback until the Bonehead OC struck again.
  10. Your right,it wasn't a poor play call... It was the most monumentally retarded play call in the history of the Buffalo Bills. First off, This wasn't the Cleveland game and Marsahwn Lynch had just made a first down with the Jets stacking the box with NINE and expecting the run and still couldn't stop it !!!! On the next play on first down he ran for FIVE yards, its second down and FIVE with two downs to make a first down.Passing when your backed up to your own red zone area is a stupid play call and always will be when the opposing team can't stop the run. What magnifies the stupidity of the call was the fact Lynch was ripping the Jets apart and would have easily gotten a first down with 2 runs. Even the professional Pro Football beat writers and commentators are calling it the worst play they have even seen called. If you can't see these facts your just dense and want to argue a lost issue, OR your related to Turd Schonert
  11. I agree Ive been saying Turk "shotgun" Schonert has an overriding stupidity from his "back up" QB mentality,He was a back up QB in the NFL for 10 years. He will always screw whomever his QB is because he wants to force the throw in situations where clearly a run would be much more logical.
  12. From, Pro Football Weekly : Buffalo Dec. 12, 2008 By Matt Sohn Bills owner may be looking to shake up coaching staff, front office Ralph Wilson can’t take it anymore. That’s the belief of many in Buffalo, who anticipate the Bills’ 90-year-old owner will be giving the ax to coach Dick Jauron after the season. Although Wilson has been silent on the matter, the silence is seen as a sign that he indeed is leaning toward making a change. The Bills are mired in a tailspin that shows no signs of slowing, having lost six of their last seven. The fall from grace has been as sudden as it’s been severe. After Buffalo got out to a 5-1 start, Jauron reportedly signed a three-year extension through 2011, although the team has never confirmed the deal. Even if the contract was signed, the prospect of buying out the new deal isn’t likely to be a big enough deterrent to keep Wilson from making a move if he indeed feels it is necessary. Club sources say Jauron recognizes his fate, as his customarily even-keeled persona has dipped into more of a demeanor of resignation. Changes might not stop with Jauron. Following the loss to the Dolphins in Week 14, Wilson, deeply troubled by his team’s demise, attributed the struggles in part due to a talent gap between the Bills and their competition. It was a subtle pointing of the finger at his personnel department, which was shaken up following the retirement of GM Marv Levy last offseason. Instead of hiring a general manager to replace Levy, Wilson chose to promote his college scouting director, Tom Modrak, and pro scouting director, John Guy, into what amounted to a joint GM role. But their inability to outfit the team with adequate player personnel could tempt Wilson into tabbing a single individual — somebody currently outside the organization — for the team’s top personnel job. Wilson has cast an envious eye toward the job Bills Parcells has done in his first year as the Dolphins’ executive VP of football operations, molding a roster that was 1-15 in 2007 to the brink of the postseason in ’08. He may be looking for his own Parcells. However, a change in the front office doesn’t appear to be as imminent as a coaching change, in part due to Wilson’s fear of appointing another Tom Donahoe, the Bills’ GM from 2001-05. A Buffalo outsider, Donahoe’s epic failure was marked by personnel disasters in addition to alienating himself from the organization and the community.
  13. I personally don't think Jauron made that call,I think it was a typical Turk "shotgun" Schonert call. Just like in that 49er game with Lynch owning them he stops calling his number when the team can use him most. I also think Jauron is a stand up guy for taking that bullet for the turd. But bottom line is he is the head coach and the buck stops with him and like ' The Dean' said ...That call should get him fired, though. Final straw, IMO. Think of what Ralph Wilson must be thinking though, If I fire him I'm out 2 mil a year for the next three years to that stiff Hey Ralph, perhaps you can demote Jauron to the defensive coordinator assistant and make him stay and earn his $$$ Then hire someone else to actually coach the team, like Bill Cowher
  14. Roscoe, one play you love him and on another you say WTH ? That punt by the Jets in their own end zone hit at their 35 and rolled to the Bills 37. Imagine the bills field position after that horrid Jets punt if Parrish moves up and fair catches it.
  15. I know some of you out there think that the "play fake run" was an OK call to make at that time and also state that the Jets were "stacking the box" on the Bills so a pass was a good idea. To those people I say BS! The Jets had just tried to stop the Bills on the previous 3RD and one and couldn't stop the run as Lynch ran right up the middle for a 3 yard gain and a 1ST down. I was thinking ...are they really going to run on third and one? FINALLY ,a great call and great run for a first down. Now another first down and the game is over! First play a 5 yard run by Lynch and its second and 5....FIVE MORE YARDS and the game is won... So many of you actually think Jauron made that "play fake run" call? I know I'm not buying it at all. Jauron wants to take a bullet for his OC because he has 3 years to go on that contract extension and doesn't want to have to fire the guy he picked to run the offense. That call was a typical Turk "shotgun" Schonert play call if there ever was one.I've been watching him all year call the stupidest plays, like the three times he called shotgun / pass on third and one against the Pats and all three went incomplete. Schonert's learning on the job has caused the Bills to lose more games this year then any player, and in a year where the Pats were without Brady and the Bills with a soft schedule. I really feel badly for the players like Lynch who put their heart and soul into a season / game only to have it ripped apart by the retard play caller.
  16. Pretty sure the OP was talking about the "play fake run" that lost the game rather then the pass that was thrown high to Josh Reed. Kawika Mitchell who was also being interviewed in the locker room and stated it was 2nd and 5,why not run?
  17. I think the world was finally able to see what kind of coaches the Bills have game planning and calling offensive plays, they suck. Therefore the players are handcuffed by them and their play reflects that fact.
  18. Of course Cris Collinsworth is going to blame Losman,he and Turd "shotgun" Schonert are golfing buds and played together for years on the bungals
  19. Lynch had 127 yards on 21 carries and went over the 1000 yard mark for the year and he must be thinking how did I get picked by this batch of losers. He must know he was a monster in this game averaging 6 yards per carry against a very good Jet Defense, ranked #4 against the run in the NFL and feels horrid because they didn't let him finish it out. Instead the bonehead OC calls a pass play on 2nd and 5.I'll bet he can't wait to see if any changes are made to this coaching staff.
  20. Go back and read my posts,I've been criticizing the offensive coordinator all year for being pass happy and not running the ball more often. Hopefully this monumental screw up will stay ingrained in everyone's brains and either Jauron will get replaced or Schonert will...or both . This game in particular really showed that the Bills have enough talent to compete and the game and play calling is putting them in bad situations. To me its 90% coaching and 10% talent as to the reason why the Bills are 6-8.
  21. It was a play fake run, then roll out. If you really look at the play how is the QB supposed to know the tackle (#71) completely missed his block and the DT is running him down from behind, any QB would have most likely done just what JP did when hit from behind. IF ANYTHING,the OC has a mic and the QB has a headset in his helmet, why didn't the OC just yell to throw it away asap? Oh wait, its the same retard that called a play fake pass when they needed to run
  22. Simply because you read someone else agreeing it wasn't a bad call doesn't change the fact that most of the world KNOWS it was one of the worst calls in Bills history, perhaps in NFL history. Coaches will be showing that call to assistant coaches on what not to call in that situation! Go read the Two Bills Dive writers columns, people that say it was not a bad call are in the minority, and frankly I have to doubt their football intelligence for doing so.
  23. In that particular situation the primary objective is holding on to the ball!!! The secondary objective is to run the clock!!! The third objective is to make a first down. It was SECOND DOWN and FIVE. you never throw the ball when you have 2 downs to make a first down and want to run out the clock, even if both fail you can still punt it away..
