Pro Football Weekly the magazine has been around for 30+ years. I can recall it being about the ONLY weekly news magazine that had credible info and news about the Bills in forever. There is a link to click on and it states its from Profootballweekly,It also states The following quotes are from NFL scouts, coaches and front-office personnel, speaking on the condition of anonymity. If you read it at "PFW" its more then likely true. http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/The+W...udibles2324.htm]

Sometimes numbers don't tell the entire story tho Take the Denver game- Bills offense 275 total yards -VS- Denver offense 532 yards Time of possession Bills 26:49 Denver 33:11 Credit the Bills Defense holding the Broncos to 3 field goals, one missed FG and one drive ended on downs and they got 2 turnovers.
-
From PFW: What is (Bills chief operating officer ) Russ Brandon doing on the road, trying to parade around as a football guy and pretend he knows what he is looking at? Look at his contracts — he can’t even take care of business in his own field. What makes him think he can evaluate? He’s a bean counter. He has no business pretending he knows talent.” The Bills will hire Matt Millen next http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/The+W...udibles2324.htm

Fassel is a moron, Brian Billick his close friend gave him a shot to run the Ravens offense as OC and he screwed it up and Billick fired him.

Jauron's extention may have an 8-8 clause
thewildrabbit replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We are not talking about just one person leaving an organization, I stated 3. The first is the guy who has brought in all that back up talent over the years that lets Belichick not skip a beat when someone gets injured. Scott Pioli has been credited with being among the very best talent evaluators in the NFL. Good freaking luck replacing him when his understudy Thomas Dimitroff just went to Atlanta last year. The next guy on the list is Josh McDaniels who was the OC the last few years when the Pats set scoring records,he is the main reason Matt Cassel went from not having started a football game since high school to a few 400+ yard games this year 23 TD's 13 ints 3800+ yards this year. I want Dick Jauron gone also if the Bills don't beat the Patriots this week! But! If for some unforeseen miracle should happen and the Bills do beat the Pats and Wilson doesn't fire Jauron and he stays as head coach. I was simply pointing out that perhaps this mediocre Bills team just might have a shot to do something next year. -
OK, I'll throw it out there....Plaxico Burress?

Oh sure, just like Michael Vick's millions kept him out of prison... Dude, the guy is a high profile player on a very popular team, what message does it send to the rest of the world if they let him walk. Trust me on this, GOD can't even walk away from a gun possession charge in NYC.No way No how! -

As much as I'd like to see the Bills get a high dollar-high profile coach I'd rather keep Jauron IF he can somehow beat the Pats on Sunday. In all probability Scott Pioli,Matt Cassel and Josh McDaniels are all gone from NE this offseason so the Pats are toast for 2 years at least. The Jets will lose Farve no matter what and the team -*will need to bring in a vet,we all know how that goes so the Jets will be mediocre again unless they hire Bill Cowher or they are the team that raped NE of the 3 wisemen. The Dolphins will soon be grooming a young QB because once a pass rush consistently gets to "noodle" Pennington, he will be gone. So the Bills could actually get better in the division next year with a semi good coaching staff -

That gun possession charge in NYC people do not walk away from,he will be sharing a cell somewhere for a few years. physco-babble idiocy, while on the subject of criminals why not bring in Mike Vick so Plax can learn to shoot dogs instead of his leg. Then we can trade Jason Peters to Dallas for "pacman" Jones, seems like a perfect fit because he could go to Canada to get into nightclub shootings -
I'm thinking Jauron as ...potato ... turnip ... a lit bag of dog pooh ...If the Bills lose to the Patriots

Tom Donahoe would be a huge improvement over Matt Millen,at least Donahoe had a background in personnel. Millen played pro ball and went into broadcasting. How that guy got a job as president and was paid 5 mill a year with no experience in his field is simply ... mind boggling. Tom Donahoe was given the keys to one bills drive and Ralph Wilson stepped away. He screwed up in the coaches he picked in Greg Williams and Mike Mularkey, both of those had no previous head coaching experience. Not to mention that wasted # one pick in offensive lineman Mike Williams. Welp now we can add another egg to his face in his brilliant selection of.....JP Many Bills fans think of JP as a wasted draft pick, I don't. I think he is the result of a crappy passing offense. The Mike Martz system might have worked in St Louis with a pro bowl O line and Kurt Warner getting the ball out in perfect rhythm. The reality is his system usually gets his QB's killed, they are always under constant duress and we saw this effect throughout this year with both JP and Edwards.

Very True Isn't it kinda strange how the loser Pro Football organizations keep finding these total losers to run the entire team, like the Lions with Matt Millen. The guy was a total disaster from day one and yet they gave him year after year to improve and he never did, they kept getting worse every year. The Lions need someone like Scott Pioli from New England for president to rebuild that team from the ground up,but they won't hire him or anyone like him.Speaking of Scott Pioli,he wouldn't be a bad choice to take over for Ralph Wilson in Buffalo.
-
Dan Henning was FIRED in Carolina a few years ago, He is now the OC at Miami! The problem with the Buffalo Bills offense is the system that they use is just horrid. The QB is almost always under duress and getting hit.The Mike Martz system in St Louis is failing, it sucks in Buffalo and it sucks in San Francisco. There is already talk in SF that if Singletary is hired full time that Martz will be fired because of the difference in offensive philosophy! Martz likes to constantly throw and Singletary wants a power running game. Trent Edwards looks so much like Joe Montana when given time to throw,he would flourish in a west coast system that is run properly.

Not sure who said it first on this board but the quote goes something like this... ""Why hire an assistant that worked under someone who stunk at calling plays?"" Ive been complaining all season about how this OC doesn't utilize the ground game to help setup the passing game. That was until this last game at Denver. BUT! Denver had the 27th Defense against the run and their defense overall really stinks. That Denver game would have been a loss had the Bills defense not been able keep them outta the end zone like 6 times. The total yardage differential was something like 275 Bills 532 Denver. All season I've been posting on this board that Turk "shotgun" Schonert calls the shotgun play much to often and ignores the running game. Marshawn Lynch could have been a starter in the pro bowl if he was utilized properly from the start of the season. I'll say give both Dick Jauron and his cohort in stupidity a chance to redeem themselves against a real defense, the Patriots! If the Bills can successfully beat the Patriots by mounting a decent offensive game plan then I say give them both another year. If they lose.. buh bye!!!!!!!! I look at the Baltimore Ravens and can't help but wish we had Cam Cameron as our OC,this team would be in the playoffs,no question!!!!

He did have one great year in Chicago at 13-3 tho, also lets not forget who drafted most of that current Bears defense Just think if his hands were tied on those assistants that were promoted ,who should take most of the blame then? All year I've been blaming Jauron for the crappy play calls, crappy O-line play and crappy QB play when all along he simply might have been supporting the people that Ralph Wilson promoted to those positions. The more i think about it the more I think it was Wilson who made those promotions and Jauron will take all the blame for their poor performance.

John Clayton on Bill Cowher
thewildrabbit replied to Chief Loves Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cowher to Jets... I highly doubt it considering that Bill Cowher would want almost total control over who is drafted and all personnel decisions, there would be a huge conflict in that regard because of the current Jets GM and president. -
Perhaps its the reason Marv stepped down

Last night on ESPN Boomer sat with Bills fans favorite insider... Mort Eric Mangini ...safe for now, but who knows if they lose to the Dolphins (and with Mr 12 mil stinking the last few games.) Dick Jauron ... leaning safe for now after beating the broncos at mile high for the first time in forever Romeo Crennell...OUT! (Savage gone also for his stupidity to fans) Marvin Lewis ...leaning safe,it wasn't his fault that Carson Palmer was hurt and didn't play most of the year. Tom Cable...OUT Al Davis already looking at prospective coaches Herman Edwards...OUT! (took a team that was just rebuilt and started rebuilding it) Jim Haslett...OUT! new GM and Haslett simply didn't win enough to keep him Rod Marinelli OUT! but it took forever for the ("Loins") to fire Millen,so who knows what stupidness this owner will do Mike Singletary... safe he has gotten that team turned around (and will drop trou when needed) Jim Zorn...safe the owner wants to give him more time considering how well the team did early(and just beat the eggels) Andy Reid ...safe McNabb and Reid are old and tired to fans, owner says different Wade Phillips...safe owner thinks Wade can get it done, defense has taken a step up with his play calling. ------ Will Norv Turner keep his job if the Chargers(7-8)lose to the Bronco's(8-7) at home and lose the division and a shot at the playoffs ? Will Jack Del Rio stay? Jags 5-10 Will Gary Kubiak stay ?Texans 7-8 Who will replace Mike Holmgren? Seahawks 4-11 I'm hearing that the Jets are seriously looking at Bill Cowher to replace the Mangenius if they lose to the Dolphins, I suppose if they are willing to pay 12 mill a year for Farve why not 10 mill to Cowher. It appears the Jets are pulling out all stops to win a championship, kinda makes me wish... (my thoughts)

Not for nothing but when Donahoe took over as president Ralph Wilson stepped away and handed him the keys to the team and if he really wanted a different OC he would have hired him. I think that perhaps when you hire a head coach you give him some leeway in hiring who he wants for his support staff. Stating that, sorry I just can't shake the feeling that Jauron didn't promote Schonert,Kugler,AV Pelt and that it reeks of Ralph. I think the one hire that Jauron did make was to hire Perry Fewell away from Chicago for the DC job. -------------------- I think the thing that bothers most Bills fans about this year is the fact that the Bills started out so well and completely collapsed while losing to our hated division foes. This team is a few spheroid bounces away from a winning record and if not for allowing JP to step on the field...who knows what their record could be. Anyway I think this team this year had so much promise and wasted it with poor coaching calls and a QB who didn't want to be here(JP). I hope that lesson is learned
-
I would, I'll wager he knows every person he is paying $$$ to, down to the towel boys. Ralph Wilson is notoriously frugal with his hires and would rather promote then bring in someone new. That said I'll hold him completely responsible for the teams play this year and not totally Jauron. If you think about it for a min Jauron has a past history of building a strong running attack and a stout defense. This team had anything but a strong running attack most of the year. If you were to define this years Bills team I'd say it was a pass first run second offense. I kept wondering why the Bills were in constant shotguns all year and it just may be that Wilson directed Jauron to allow Schonert to work the passing game. Since Tom Donahoe departed I've been hearing that Ralph Wilson has had his hand in the draft room and in all aspects of this team, this might be especially true considering that when Marv Levy stepped down as GM, Wilson didn't replace him with anyone.
-
Just consider this fact for a minute, the president is usually responsible for all hires and fires in an organization as was Tom Donahoe when he was president of the Buffalo Bills. He was in charge of drafting players, the hiring and firing of coaches and functions of the entire team. Ralph Wilson is the Buffalo Bills current president,he has a past history through all the years he has owned the buffalo Bills of usually almost always promoting from within the organization rather then hire someone new when a job opens up.Only when the team was horrid for a number of years did he go outside the organization to hire a coach or president. There is a strong possibility that Dick Jauron was directed by Ralph Wilson to promote Turk Schonert from QB coach to the offensive coordinator when Steve Fairchild left for Colorado. The same thing could have happened when O line coach Jim McNally retired last year ,Sean Kuglar from assistant line coach to McNally's job.And again with Alex Van Pelt getting the promotion from assistant quality control coach to QB coach. As fans we all assumed that the head coach made all these promotions when in fact the president could have been responsible for them,do we really know ? It might be the reason that Ralph Wilson made that statement after the loss to the Dolphins that he and Jauron would go out together!

Jauron Should Stay
thewildrabbit replied to NavarreFL_Bills_Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You don't hear me complaining about the QB's the Bills have,I've been complaining all year about the asinine play calls and the fact that this OC puts the Bills QB under to much duress with the constant shotguns plays. Yeah and the Bills lost to all those teams, they lost 2x to the Jets,2x to the Dolphins and to the cards The teams the Bills beat were the Seahawk's 4-11 Jacksonville 5-10 Raider's 4-11 Rams 2-13 Chiefs 2-13 Chargers 7-8 Bronco's 8-7 The only team with a winning record the Bills beat were the Denver Bronco's and as spoilers. I have a difficult time in believing that if the Bills were playing for a playoff spot against the Bronco's that they would NOT have choked and somehow managed to call the wrong plays and screw it up. About the only way this team beats the Patriots next year with Brady healthy is if Scott Pioli, Matt Cassel and OC Josh McDaniels all leave for jobs elsewhere. -
The Mentality at One Bills Drive
thewildrabbit replied to thewildrabbit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reflecting back over last off season and the changes in the coaching dept it wouldn't surprise me one bit to find that the president of the Buffalo Bills had Jauron hire from within the organization just like he has done for so many years. So the QB coach to OC and the assistant line coach to full line coach and the quality control coach to QB coach. all were promoted by the president and not Jauron IMO. The president being the owner,Ralph Wilson. So Its no wonder then that Ralph Wilson would make that statement that he and Jauron will leave together. -

thewildrabbit replied to NavarreFL_Bills_Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To all you Dick supporters out there.... I say wait until the next game is over before you make anymore posts about keeping this head coach. If the Patriots beat the Bills it will mean that they were swept in the division this year with one of the easiest schedules in the NFL and Tom Brady out all year.
