  1. Newsflash: There's ignorant rednecks in the North as much as in the South. HTH!
  2. Oh brother! Would you stop it already?
  3. Idiot? Where'd you go to school? Bayside High? Try cretin or simpleton. BTW, Did you know? Source: http://thesaurus.reference.com/browse/idiot
  4. Props to Lori on The Wire!
  5. I think we've all made our points and we just keep re-making them with different facts. And I think this thread is continuing just for the sake of arguing and slow news period.
  6. 1. I'd take a little fiery-ness in the locker room today if it brought us some wins. Sometimes you need your own teammate to slap you in the face. 2. Just because someone thinks Flutie was the option on our roster and was better than RJ, doesn't mean they are his lover. All this Flutie bitterness seems to come from deep emotions of the opposers.
  7. Where is all this divisive player information on Flutie coming from? Rumors? Word of mouth? Hearsay? Comparing him to T.O.? Oh brother.... Oh brother! Sometimes it's just best to let lying dogs lie. Obviously Flutie is in your head.
  8. What do you think happened to Tony in the end? Did he get hit? I strongly advise getting the LOST series!
  9. You were the ones saying that Flutie had no credible influence on the team making the playoffs. I'm just saying that's an asinine statement. And yes, Trent Dilfer was a journeyman quarterback who didn't have great mobility or improvisation skills, but had good managing skills and could make that one play that they needed. But if you want to talk about defenses carrying the team, Baltimore's defense during that team era did TONS more scoring their offense did. Dilfer only completed 48% of his passes in that Super Bowl and was sacked nearly 4 times. Talk about defense carrying the team. Maybe if you dropped the Jills obsession for a few minutes you could see that. Trent's completion percentage in those playoffs that led to the Super Bowl: @ Ten = 31.3% @ Oak = 50.0% @ New York = 48.0% I'm not saying completion percentage determines the whole outcome, but obviously those are low and for them to win something else was a factor (Answer: Ray Lewis and Co.). And furthermore, if you re-read my posts, I'm not ga-ga over Flutie, I'm just saying to dismiss his influence on making the playoffs in any fashion is insane and ignorant. And I'm also saying that just because RJ had the team winning in the first quarter against any team in 98 before he got his brain smashed doesn't mean s**t and it's a worthless point that some people are ignorantly making. I'd much prefer to watch a 5'10 quarterback with a chip on his shoulder than a wanna-be gangsta surfing kid who broke the NFL sack record at the time FOR A QB. Call me crazy. To top that off, the Bills didn't have a #1 defense til the 1999 season, not 98, but either way it was nowhere near Baltimore's defense in 2000. Hope this helps!
  10. A. The "team" was NOT winning when Flutie was NOT the quarterback. Note: A 3 point lead in the 1st quarter before RJ gets his mojo hurt doesn't count or sustain any leverage. B. The "team" DID win and win often when Flutie was IN at quarterback. Note: 23-11 Record of Flutie vs 6-10 RJ record. C. No one's saying Flutie ALONE did it, but he also wasn't some Trent Dilfer who just stood around and managed everything, Flutie made things happen when things weren't happening. He was a good improviser. Note: Immediate reaction to bootleg against Jacksonville. D. Granted Buffalo had a great defense, it alone didn't score points. Flutie and the offense had to do some of that believe it or not. Note: 23-11 record of Flutie at the helm. E. Neil Armstrong was the the first to walk on the moon, NASA just sent him there. But you stagnant RJ supporters would argue that NASA walked on the moon, not Neil Armstrong. Technically, for you specific imperative dorks, Armstrong walked on the moon for NASA. Just like Flutie quarterbacked the "team" that made the playoffs. In which RJ failed countless times to do. F. Just acknowledge it was an exciting time and Flutie was much more fun to watch than RJ. Because it's true just like the holocaust. Quarterback = the most important position on any football team. HOPE THIS HELPS!
  11. No first game was against Chargers in San D.
  12. Yeah they won, but nothing compared to Flutie at the helm... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EH2_sEQfqN8
  13. No he wasn't the only contributor. But neither was the defense. That was my point. Re-read. Debate all you want, but the bottom line is, and maybe it's a conspiracy , but when Flutie played the team won A LOT more often than any other QB on the roster at the time. People want to pull him out because he's not Kurt Warner or Tom Brady, but newsflash! He was the best we had. I honestly believe you Flutie haters have severe cases of Tall-Man Syndrome. Good luck with that!
  14. Defense alone doesn't score points. But you're saying Flutie had NOTHING to do with the team making the playoffs? Seriously? SERIOUSLY?! SERRRRRIOUUSSSLLLLYYYYYY?? Do you also think we didn't land on the moon? I honestly think that most Flutie haters don't even read any of the insurmountable evidence and facts that prove he was a good quarterback. You haters are like those 3 year old kids I see in the malls that start screaming and stomping their feet when they don't get what they want. Bottom line, RJ sucked it up, Losman sucked it up, Bledsoe sucked it up, and Flutie just lead us to the playoffs. Facts are there, can't deny it. Hope this helps!
  15. Well I would think that would be a great trait to have, competitiveness. On top of that, Flutie commanded respect from everyone including Thurman Thomas and Bruce Smith. I remember hearing how the defense would stay on the sidelines after a series to watch Flutie. No he wasn't a prototypical quarterback, which isn't hard to figure out with 175 lbs, he did his best when he didn't pass more than 25 times a game. With our runningback by committee approach at that time, it should have been easy for the Bills to manage. But in 1999, they had Flutie throwing the ball 30-40 times a game.
  16. Twitter isn't anything special or new. It's essentially a facebook status only. Definitely not worth $500 million.
  17. Tim, Do you watch Lost? What's your top 5 TV show rundown?
  18. Making the playoffs is like a crap sandwich???
  19. BTW, on that last drive they were at the 5 yard line, not the 1.
  20. To sit here and debate whether or not he was a product of the system or "got by with a great defense" is like talking to a pile of bricks. RJ had his shot, he failed. Flutie got his shot and made something of it. If you want to get specific and detailed about it, Flutie did about 100,000 times better than RJ did. He was the best option for the team, yet, some fans have a bitter regard for the man. Maybe they have tall man syndrome or maybe they have delusionitis. Whatever the case for them may be, when push comes to shove and when pen hits paper, Flutie rocked RJ's world upside down. Hope this helps!
  21. I remember a TV shot of that game when Thurman ran onto the field flipping the bird. Very intense game.
  22. He was a Pro Bowler. He led the Bills to the playoffs both years he started. That's more than any other quarterback besides Jim Kelly can say for the Bills. Ralphie got all jittered when RJ ran up the score on an Indy team that was playing for nothing and demanded RJ be the starter next week in the Wildcards since he had more money ($1 million) invested in RJ. That was one of the first signs we should have realized Ralphie has a tendency to jump the gun. Most recent case with Jauron's extension after the 4-0 start. Was Flutie the best quarterback in the league? Hell no. Was he the best available quarterback with the Bills? Hellz yeah.
  23. Lost Notes: Season 1: Pilot Part 1 Smoke monster makes mechanical noises, like he was moving something? Like maybe the cockpit? Rose comments that the sounds the smoke monster makes is familiar to her. Why did smoke monster kill the pilot? Season 1: Pilot Part 2 On the beach, Locke plays backgammon and Walt approaches him. Locke asks Walt if he wants to know a secret, immediately after explaining the white vs. black concept with the board game. “Light vs Dark”. People assume he told him he couldn't walk before landing on the island and now he can. But what did he really tell him? Jacob and Esau are in the Old Testament in the Bible, Locke mentions that backgammon is older than Jesus. Of course christians know that Jesus isn't mentioned until the New Testament in the Bible. (Implies the game of good vs. evil goes back to the time of Jacob and Esau). Season 1: Tabula Rasa At the end, when Michael brings Walt his dog Vincent back, Locke is watching them. Does anyone hear the smoke monster rattle noise? Season 1: Walkabout After Locke takes the call from GL-12, the scene ends with smoke monster rattle noise, no? When Locke goes off to hunt alone, what happens after he encounters the smoke monster? Jack is talking to Kate on the beach, Jack sees Christian and follows him into the bushes, then out comes Locke with the boar. Locke has a weird look on his face. Season 1: White Rabbit - Season 1: House of the Rising Sun The bodies found in the caves, black and white rocks were found in a shirt pocket. Season 1: The Moth Locke gains trust of Charlie. Season 1: Confidence Man - Locke hit Sayid in the back of the head while he was trying to triangulate the transceiver signal, but incites blame on Sawyer, then gives Sayid a knife “in case there's a next time”.
  24. I still have a red and blue box of Flutie Flakes. Oh the memories... I was 14 and in 8th grade.... Somehow they survived all of Jr. High, High school, college, and now. People surely think I'm crazy for carrying around saran wrapped cereal boxes when I move for the past decade. But I bet I'm the only person in the state of Mississippi with a box now!
