  1. Without the content of playcalling? Really? You are talking out of your A## and you obviously don't understand blocking schemes. Blocking schemes are really not that "complex" for the Offensive line, that is why there are line calls. The center makes a line call, 3, 4, 5 fronts, which then tells the others Oline who their man is, pretty simple really. It's up to the back to pick the bllitz but if an Olineman feels a blitzer has a shorter path to the QB he will usually will leave his man to pick up the man free. Regarding him "preventing" other people mistakes, again you are wrong. Guards, centers and RB's are secondary blockers due to their position on the field! I have never seen a LT peel back and help out the playside guard, have you? He is an overhyped, overpaid baby. Remember the Jax game when he got Trent killed and coughed the ball up? How about the Miami game where he whiffed on Porter? Trade em now while his value is up, take your future LT with that pick and move on! 60 million for him is laughable!!!
  2. The bottom line is that Peters is overrated. Trade em before this gets ugly and teams squeeze us because they know that we won't pay him. LT 1. 3. Jackson is a big DE who does not get out of the blocks all that quickly. He is more of a shade DE because of his size and strength. Go back and watch the National Championship game, Duke got beat and had HUGE penalties and looked slooooowww. From an athletic standpoint, Jared Cook looks to be the real deal.
  4. 3 Time All SEC 3 Time All American Outland Trophy Winner All of this before he turned 22. For every Leaf and Mike Williams there is a Randy Moss and Warren Sapp. I take my chances with the best LT in college football.
  5. He was on "Outside the Lines" yesterday and called out Kelsy and Dockery for being way overpaid (Yeah I know). His best line was when he was talking about Marshawn, "Apparently he goes into Beastmode on Friday nights not Sunday afternoons!" Good stuff.
  6. He is WAY to big to go out in Buffalo. People go nuts when they see a backup lineman at Wegmans and TO is gonna be able to go to SOHO? He should get in a limo and head to Toronto. Toronto has the third largest crowd in North America going out on the weekends and it is less than a two hour drive away. I was there this weekend and the nightclubs and bars are amazing. Loaded with beautiful women of all types!
  7. Wow, thats crazy. Take Stroud away from that D and it gets ugly. He made K Williams better, never gave up ground in the run game and collapsed the pocket. Its kind of hard to get noticed when your playing next to Kelsey, Denney and Williams! As far as Schobel goes, I hope he put a little weight on. He looked very skinny a year ago at SJF. I would never doubt the guys motor because he never stops but he is another year older and never was a guy to blow past a tackle. I hope he looks good but he could hit the wall quickly. Why haven't we restructured him and Kelsey yet?
  8. What a spineles queer! It's time for him to get over it. I can't even remember the last time I heard TD's name being mentioned for a job and Mularky has not even interviewed since.
  9. I WILL! 1) It's March 8th 2) We are in the third week of free agency. 3) The draft is almost two months away. 4) Mini camps have not even started. Do you understand why no one is answering that question? ESPN has poisoned the fans minds!
  10. I didn't notice that you were from the home of FSU. I understand the biased opinion then. You probably think that Bowden, who comes through with a top 10 recruiting class every year, is great at developing talent from that tower. How is Jimbo working out down there?
  11. A player that never gets onto the field is a bust wether it is unfair or not. I loved Wadswoth coming out of college, he reminded me of Bruce Smith. He played DT up unitl his Jr. year then shedded about 25 lbs and was a beast off of the edge. But, he couldnt get on the field so he was a bust. Your same logic could be used about for Cade Mccnown and Tim Couch too but they are still busts. Wimbley followed up a strong rookie year with 4 and 5 sack years so who knows, maybe Tackles ACTUALLY DO watch film and learned that he is a one trick pony with an upfied rush and thats about it. No counter moves, just used to flyin straight up filed (see Kelsey and Schobel). Reinard Wilson got moved to LB in a 4-3 after years of failing at DE for the Bengals. If Brown is going to be successful, it will not be in a 4-3 so this discussion doesnt really matter anyway.
  12. I totally agree. That being said you HAVE to pay attention to lineage. Again, Larry Johnson, when he not melting down, is a great back. Then there is Ki Carter, Curtis Enis, Blair Thomas and Tony Hunt. Ike Hilliard has been decent. But how about Chris Doering, Reidel Anthony, Dallas Baker, Jack Jackson, Travis Taylor or Taylor Jacobs? So does it really mean anything when PSU RB goes for 1500? Or a Florida WR is an all american? No, it usually means their system is working. So while you would be a fool to dismiss E Brown before watching tape, I say be very careful. Because Jamal Reynolds, Wadsworth, WIlson all had a bunch of sacks in that same system too.
  13. Well, you are wrong. Kids get into colleges and learn how to play within the systems that they are in. They develop terrible habits that they never break. That is why Ohio St. pumps out talent to the NFL every year. Unlike a team like West Virgina, who's LBs play in a 3-3 system where their keys are completly different. Ever hear of a Mountaineer LB in the NFL? But WVU is always in the top 15 right? SO, when you're groomed to play a certain position in a "niche" type D for 4-5 years you are going to be lost. Thats my point.
  14. People want to take away all that Smith did over an amazing three year career and throw it out for a minny meltdown. Again, he just turned 22 and he showed his age for a month! The guy dominated the SEC for three years and that is enough for me. Out of the pass rushers the one that impressed me the most was Orakpo. Go back and watch the OU game where he dominated Phil Loadholt who was a consensus All American at LT. He got dinged up a bit this year but still finished the year playing very well against Ohio St. Someone asked him at the combine where he saw himself playing and he said, "I dont care where I play as long as I can rush the passer!" That along with his play and the fact that he is an absolute physical freak makes me think that he is THE guy. I do like the way Maybin plays. He plays with an attitude and is a natural leaader. Great pass rusher, incredible first step but is very lightly built. For the guy that doubted my thoughts on FSU DE's, you are missing the point. FSU DE's play upfield only. They rarely shade the T's and never play a 5 or 7 technique (Shading the T or splitting the TE/T) . They always play over the open man and when you get the NFL you just cant do that every play. And that is why every FSU DE was a falure. Same reason why Florida WR's suck. They dont learn route progressions and rely on matchups to beat their man. So while there is always an exeption like a Steve Young, who has made it since then? Peter Boulware, who has made it since him? Remember Reidel Anthony or Travis Taylor...FLOPS! DO you see what I mean?
  15. We have enough polite guys that say the right things. As far as him being the best, Reinard Wilson, Andre Wadsworth, Jamal Reynolds and Kamrion Wimbley said they were going to be the best too. Stay away from FSU DE's, they play with zero responsibily at FSU and thats why they can't adjust in the NFL. No FSU DE's, Florida WR's, Texas O Lineman and no Penn St. RB's!
  16. I'm not doubting that you may know a ticket agent but I doubt Kelly couldn't get financed for that last 100K. He probably has 100K worth of empty beer cans in the garage. Good laugh though!
  17. The difference is, he was the the #2 rated high school player and lived up to all of the hype by starting as a true freshman (Fr All American) being named All American 2 years in a row, 3 time 1st team all SEC and won the Outland by the time he was 21! He plays with a nasty ASS attitude and finishes the hell out of his blocks. Put him next to Jason Peters and that would be truly devestating. He ran into a little bit of trouble but it's not like it was drugs or assault. Maybe he just wanted to be a kid for a few seconds. Whichever teams picks Smith is gonna get a bargin.
  18. He is easily the most explosive player in the draft. That being said, Turk would not know what to do with Harvin. He has never been a true WR and was more effective as a RB throughout his career. I've heard some people say he is this year's Desean Jackson but DJ played in a pro style offense and learned how to run routes. The team that takes Harvin is going to have to be patient with him at WR and get the ball in his hands any way they can in the meantime. Turk would be overwhelmed.
  19. How dare he tell the truth! He is not a real fan!
  20. If he still has the beard, the Taliban would be very interested.
  21. The problem with Roscoe is that he can't learn the offense. Plus, he is about 165lbs and offers nothing over the middle. Wes Welker is short, but he is almost 200 lbs. and is feerless. Rosco is what he is, a great return man and thats it.
  22. Seriously, did you watch every Cal game or just the Miami game where they showed replays of every block he made? He was blocking a bucnh of true freshman that game! Everything that I read from the Senior Bowl was that he was the third best C there.
  23. I like all of your points. We were never going to compete with the Jets and the Skins for the big names. I would love to see the Bills cut or restructure both Kelsey and Schobel. My bet is that the Bills won't do this until after all of the big names are gone so they have an excuse for not spending on the big time FA's.
