  1. Why are you assuming a simple direct relationship between the number of hammers and the accuracy of the bag? Surely, there's a tipping point. Too many cooks in the kitchen, too many hammers in the bag. Additionally, the nature of the bag? Are we talking paper or plastic? Perhaps a burlap sack?
  2. Many fans don't seem to understand that their are severe consequences to a 400 carry season. Spiller is looking elite. Jackson is a proven good player working his way through lower body injuries. Both will carry the ball ~200 times this season. That's a good thing, not a bad thing.
  3. Right, but is it a specialized skill that most naturally gifted athletes couldn't master? Bear in mind, I have no idea what I'm actually talking about.
  4. Always wondered this. How is long snapping not in the repertoire of most starting centers? It's not a radically different skill than snapping in the shotgun formation, is it?
  5. Which would be fine, if it was a column about Gailey's tenure. But it was a column reflecting on the results of the Arizona game, in which a TON of Bills played well. Yet, somehow, none were mentioned.
  6. Wow, we're a cynical bunch. Sheesh
  7. I can admit when I's wrong! Curious, though, if it's after a win or loss.
  8. It's funny how great players approach the game differently. I mean, can you imagine Ray Lewis walking up to the opposing QB after a loss and saying "Great game, man. Keep at it. Congrats."? Yet, when I hear that it came from Fitzgerald, it seems completely natural. Oh, and I think Gilmore is going to be a stud.
  9. A rushed 82 game schedule without a preseason or organized training? Injuries galore is my guess. Guys playing in Europe currently will have an advantage.
  10. It doesn't matter. I hear people saying they want Metallica...if you're into Metallica, wouldn't you sort of hate the 10 minute long greatest hits medley they'd be forced to play? You can go on youtube right now and find better footage of a Metallica show than would appear on the SB.
  11. I believe it was Carrington that landed right on top of him. Padding can only do so much against 300 pounds of flesh and gravity.
  12. Not really. Just like the Bills, the Titans have been blown out of the water in their losses, and sport an even worse points differential than Buffalo.
  13. #1 punt returner in the NFL this year, by a pretty wide margin. He's been instrumental in field position.
  14. It's just funny to me that, because it's the Bills, we're expected to chalk up the victory to good luck. Replace Jairus Byrd with Troy Polamalu or Ed Reed and you have an entirely different headline.
  15. "You're not wrong, Walter. You're just an !@#$." Criticisms on Gailey and Fitz are fine. Even Brad Smith. But that's three guys. What about the other 51, none of whom played an appreciably bad game and ended up with a road victory against a 4-1 team? Where are the plaudits for Byrd? Spiller? Levitre? Mario? Kelsay? I could go on. Good team win and it wasn't stolen. Carrington tipped the field goal attempt and Skelton was only playing because the same man drove Kolb into the turf.
  16. I enjoy the movie, if only for Alec Baldwin's scene. Which actually isn't included in the play, and neither is that character "Blake".
  17. Pretty amazing that the Broncos are going to be 2-4 (probably) after making the playoffs and adding a top-5 all time QB. They've played a brutal schedule, but I expected them to contend.
  18. Trust me, I enjoy delving, but I'm not a student of X's and O's like some around here. I do know that this season, we win when the opposing QB "fall down, go boom."
  19. In 3 wins: 14 sacks combined In 3 losses: 1 sack combined Now, I know that correlation isn't everything, but you can't deny that this is a trend.
  20. Agreed with Levitre first. He's the second most crucial element of our run game, after Spiller.
  21. DL, LB and DB all looked pretty good yesterday. Then again, we're talking Kevin Kolb and John Skelton.
  22. Especially when he clearly doesn't have Gailey's trust to try the 50+ yarder. Is he seriously just on the team to force touchbacks?
  23. Pretty funny that a backup DT's pinky finger (or some such) saved the season. For the time being.
  24. The AP write up seems to think so... http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=321014022 That would make me feel a little better, because a straight up miss from 38 yards is just a measure of good luck. A tip is a nice play.
