  1. Well if its something that can be added to the XP, then yeah, it would have made the XP tougher, but I doubt it changes anything. Butker is one of the best kickers in football, and while any kicker is capable of missing kicks (he missed one at end of half even), odds are the outcome is the same. And as far as taunting goes, I don't think what Hill did is any different than anyone high stepping into the end zone. And I have seen plenty of other times where people are waving bye to someone they ran past and not get flagged. I think it becomes taunting more when a player gets into someones face or stands over them enticing contact or reactions. This is way way way down on my list of things I think about this game.
  2. Here is the issue thought: Squib kick likely eats 4 to 6 seconds and ends up around the 35 or 40. And after the kickoff, they had 13 seconds and after one play were around the 40 eating up the same amount of time. If Frazier runs the same D after the squib giving Kelce that read for the seam and the play happens the same, it is the same result. So there is no guarantee here that a squib kick changes the outcome. It was a mistake by someone that Bass did not get the squib kick call, but end of the day, there is no assurances the result is different. Kelce saw what Frazier trotted out there, told Mahomes if they play it like that he can get the seam. Mahomes saw it was the same formation after the TO, yelled to Kelce to do it at the LOS and they got a big play to get into FG range. And that wasn't the end of his FG range either, could have come up shorter and still been within the range of Butker. It was a series of errors, most compounded by the defensive play call by Frazier.
  3. Doesnt the flag get tacked onto the kickoff though?
  4. Oh stop. Don't say "I don't think he did" while at the same time floating he might have. This is an absurd line of discussion. You do realize Kelce was mic'd up and called his own route change based on Fraziers defensive call and Mahomes confirmed the change at the LOS before hiking it right yelling "Do it Kelce, Do it"? So wouldn't that mean Frazier would have had to been in cahoots with Kelce, otherwise how could he know Kelce would audible his own route to exploit the formation? I mean how could Frazier give them a gimme if he wasn't aware Kecle was going to change his route to take advantage? Oh wait, I got it...thats why Kelce was "mic'd up" because Frazier was tapped into his hot mic being they were in cahoots! Thats it. Nailed it. 🙄
  5. Context people, context. Its not nearly so cut and dry as looking at the record. Others have done a great breakdown already, I suggest you all read those posts.
  6. This. /EndThread
  7. Legit question: Did you take any classes, or study, read a book or anything on how to come up with terrible hot takes and utter nonsense? Its uncanny with you. One after another. Thread after thread.
  8. All offseason leading up to that draft I argued for DK Metcalf. On draft night I pleaded to take him. When we traded up in the 2nd I prayed it was for DK even though I was certain it was Ford. When he kept sliding to the end of the 2nd, I pleaded to trade up and get him. Loved him then, and would love him now. That being said...my answer is no. I would not invest that much into the WR position, we don't need it. He would be a monster here no doubt, but WR is not our weakness and Allen makes everyone better around him. I would much rather use the draft assets and cap space to address CB (Tre had as serious injury, and Levi is a FA), DT (Star needs a successor, and Philips is a FA), and Interior OL. Then make a trade to go get someone like Barkley who can be had on the cheap most likely given the Giants Cap issues and his injury history. Schoen is going to clear out the cap issues first, so send them Moss and a pick for Barkley.
  9. Not picking on your post per se, more of a general reply to how McKenzie gets a bit over hyped around here. He is a journeyman WR who has one big game against the Pats and suddenly he is invaluable asset around TSW. Look, I like McKenzie, but he is an undersized WR who has really only one asset...speed. He is not a polished router runner (Cole is an elite route runner), he doesn't have anywhere near the same hands Cole has, and he doesn't get tough yards like Cole. He either beats you with speed and or he doesn't factor in. He is capable of making big plays for sure, but lets not act like this guy is a pro bowler (not saying you are, the boards over all sentiment about this guy) that has been kept in the background for no reason. He also has a history of fumbling issues. NFL scouts and GM's know who he is, yet no one offers him anything when he is a FA and he comes back here cheap every year. Believe we even signed him off a PS. Cole Beasley has been the starter because he is quite frankly the best 3rd down WR in the game and one of the best overall slot WR's. Its not like Mckenzie has been sitting behind a scrub. I would like to keep his speed here too, but I am also not losing sleep if he isn't back. What he brings to the table is one dimensional, and I am confident we can replicate that in free agency or the draft in the event he doesn't come back.
  10. The only goal that matters...Super Bowl. I don't care about the #1 seed that much. Sure if we can get it, great, but I am not going to lose sleep over getting it or not either.
  11. Dont get me wrong, I would love one too. I’m not against having one. I’m more concerned with filling out the rest of the roster. It’s the cost to acquire and cap hit that has me concerned when we need to address and invest at CB, OL, and DT badly. We have less than $3M in cap space to start, but we also have key players like Levi and Phillips who are free agents making CB and DT big holes. Compounding that further, Tre is coming off a bad injury that can sometimes take a full season of playing to get all the way back and Star needs to probably be replaced too. So we need more than just one player at both those spots. And all that before we have even addressed the OL. So that’s my issue, it will take draft capital we need to bring in young talent and cap space we need to fill the roster out. So I think we are a stronger team with investing in multiple positions than investing big in one and using cheap lower tier players to shore up those other spots. And Tre White alone changes the outcome of that last game most likely. So the DL to me wasn’t the liability.
  12. Wait...this thread made it to two pages? Baby Jesus help us all.
  13. Is this a real thread? Ashton is that you? Are we on a "Punk'd" reboot?
  14. We got 2 sacks...how many more sacks change the outcome of the game? And my point was, you can't panic maneuver just because one game Mahomes was an escape artist. Elite players are going to be elite in big moments. Doesn't matter who is chasing them. Allen made Aaron Donald look silly when the Rams played us. Great players are great for a reason. To over react to a couple plays in a game is not how you soundly build a football team. And for the record...we beat them twice this year. One of those games the Bills decided to give away with a blunder at the end of regulation and a terribly called defense on 2 plays that had nothing to do with who our DE's were. So sorry, all this stuff about "sacks" is way down the list of why we lost this game.
  15. I dont really disagree with what your counter points that are here. Just more to add...I did not add Frazier to the list of what is over the top because criticism about him isn't over the top. The defensive calls he had during that 13 seconds are highly questionable. And he is also likely leaving it seems, so firing him isn't even an option. As far as the DE goes, I don't think Addison and Hughes are B grade DE's. They dont get as much credit as they deserve. We were 5th in the NFL at pressuring the QB and did a lot of that on Mahomes too. We were 10th in sacks too. Addison sack totals are not much lower than Khalil Macks even (mentioning him as he has been a popular name thrown around to bring in) the past few seasons. Are they Elite guys? No, but they are pretty good players and the young guys showed some promise too. So for me, I agree, its always nice to have that TJ Watt guy...but they don't grow on trees and they are not made available usually. So you have to draft them, and we have used 3 picks at the DE position the last 2 years in the first 2 rounds, so now is the time to let them play and keep growing. Look at Davis...we held him behind Sanders most the year and wasn't until Sanders got hurt did Davis get a shot to make a bigger impact and that just kept growing down the stretch. Also have to keep in mind its not easy to field a good overall team that includes an elite pass rusher and elite QB because those two positions (when young and elite) can eat such a big part of the cap up. And now Josh is extended, and that contract is going to start making it harder to field balanced rosters if we have to also dump a lot of money into one position like DE too. So its in our best interest to draft and grow our own.
  16. Lots of things “Fans” expect dont happen, and mainly because fans keep coming up with their own ideas outside what Beane says. But Beane mostly does what he says and has always been a straight shooter. If Beane expects him to be a Bill, then I would plan on him being a Bill and probably will be unless he gets an intriguing trade offer he thinks makes us better.
  17. CB - Levi is a FA, and Tre coming off big injury. I have a feeling they will try and bring Levi back. But if he goes elsewhere, suddenly CB goes from needing some depth to a major hole. OL - Need to shore up the IL more than anything DT - Phillips is a free agent, and after this year, I think he will be a priority to resign. Star replacement is also someone I think we need to find this year. WR - Cole is in his last year of his deal and Sanders I am not sure they bring back unless he is willing to come back to back up Davis who should start. Cole could be a trade chip too, so not guarantee they keep him this year. RB - I think they feel good about Devin and how he responded in a lead role down the stretch. But I also think if they could go after Barkley or draft a guy with more speed to bolster the RB room.
  18. I would still do it...I would prefer to keep Devin, but I would still do it because the potential reward is there in Barkley. He is young enough still that I would take that gamble, and Moss can still help balance some of the load and also still be an effective RB if needed to start at any time. Maybe if its Devin they want I would try and adjust the compensation to reflect his slightly higher trade value over Moss. But ultimately, I would still pull the trigger if the deal was the same but with Devin. And I really like Devin too, not meant to be slight on him in any way. But I think Barkley still brings a ton to the table and could get back to being special in a better situation.
  19. I mean the table is set for this to be a real possibility IMHO. Giants just hired Schoen who came from the Beane school of being a GM...his first priority is going to be to use this year to evaluate the roster and being to clean up the cap. He is going to want to shed some cap but also try and field a competitive team still. We have some pieces that make sense...like Moss as a potential starter there to replace Barkley on the cheap. Then a guy like Cole, who only has one year left on his contract and comes off the books next year, is a perfect piece to help Daniel Jones (as they evaluate him) or maybe a rookie QB (not a good year to draft one) as a safety net and guy who can move chains and then comes off the books at end of the season. If I am Beane, I offer up Cole, Moss, and a day 3 pick for Barkley...then do a new contract for Barkley once he is here like they did when we got Diggs that gives us the cap flexibility back and some outs if he doesn't work out here. Then to replace Cole, you could look at FA and the draft, but also bring back McKenzie and let him and Hodgins battle for the slot spot with any vet or rookie they bring in.
  20. Yeah I think too many people are writing him off right now. I remember when they did that with Fred Taylor and said he was too injury prone and then he finally got healthy and stayed healthy most of his career and was one of the best RB's in the league the rest of his career. The O-Lines and offenses he has been stuck in while with the Giants have been putrid. I think he would excel coming somewhere like here into this potent offense, especially given how dangerous he is as a receiver out of the back field too. Not to mention, talk about a guy that has that Allen like mentality of playing tough, he will fit right in here.
  21. Hahahaha beat me to it He is literally Jarvis Landry part 2. He had one season opposite an elite WR in AB and then hasn't done squat since while other WR's on their team have played better than JuJu. Send him to KC, I would MUCH rather see them get slower at WR than see more of their speed guys.
  22. Williams couldn't see anytime in Buffalo because there was Devin and Moss ahead of him, plus Brieda for a different role and Taiwan for ST. There is no guarantee he sees time in NY either, but bringing in guys who might compete for playing time and that are cheap are always great moves by a new GM, especially guys you are familiar with. But some people here seem to think this suggests AW is gonna just walk in and start and be excel or something. He hasn't even made their roster yet, so that is quite premature.
  23. I get where you are coming from, and don't get me wrong, I totally agree Mack is still most likely an upgrade. It's not like I would be upset if Mack ends up on this team. My main takeaway is that we invested a lot in 3 young DE's already in the last 2 years, and it takes time for players to fully develop. We don't have a ton of cap room this year, so I am just of the mindset we might see a bigger improvement spreading around our draft capital and cap space over more positions than overly investing back in the one DE position again. I guess I am just more concerned about our interior OL and DL and depth at CB. We definitely need to add someone on the OL, and we have 2 key pieces this year at CB (Levi) and DT (Phillips) who are free agents that I assume will be high priority to try and resign unless the market for some reason is too high to keep them. Plus we have White coming off a bad injury, we don't know how well he will be able to play next year, it can sometimes take a year of playing before a player gets back to close to what they were. Not to mention, I think its time they look for a replacement for Star given his age and how often he has missed games. Personally...if we make a trade for a name...I would like to see us go get Saquan Barkley, and I think that may be more likely personally. We can offset some of the acquisition cost by including a player or two that make sense for them, like Moss as a potential replacement and maybe a slot guy like Cole to help Jones or what ever other QB they have in there. Send them and a late pick for Barkley then redo his contract here. Barkley here could share time with Devin and not be over used and run into the ground while also training in the NFL's most state of the art facilities to get himself fully healthy and hopefully stay that way. Having a healthy Barkley behind a revamped OL with Josh Allen at QB could be stupid good if he can stay healthy. And we still have Devin for insurance.
  24. I think its more you guys didn't actually read the full story. The $13 was originally to go to MAHOMES charity. Bills fans would have done the same for Allens charity if the role was reversed. BUT...the person who started this suggestion noticed that Bills Mafia often does this thing for opponents charities in their home towns, so he decided that was awesome and wanted to do the same here for Josh Allen after his unbelievable performance giving the fans and NFL one of the best games anyone has ever seen. He openly admitted it didn't dawn on him to then change the $13 to $17 instead and wished he would have. But the $13 was never intended to be a sign of disrespect, it was originally chosen to honor Mahomes for Mahomes own charity. So, no disrespect, but there is nothing bad about this at all. It wasn't intended to be a jab, they literally said many times how they respect Bills Mafia and the absolutely sensational performance by Allen, and its because of that they gave to Allens favorite charity instead of their own hero Mahomes. To take it any other way is misguided IMHO.
