  1. I mean I can't really fault any of these choices/predictions as they all make sense. There are other candidates though, including some OG retreads I think that will be in play as well such as Rex, Gruden, and Carrol. No guarantees any of them get hired, but I think at least one of them will and I think its Gruden. Pats - Mike Vrabel - Agree with everything you said on Vrabel, I think he will be the guy in NE. Jets - Rex Ryan - I am going to go with one of the wildcards here and go Rex. Its such a Jetsy thing to do and honestly this is more me wanting to will it into fruition more than anything. Bears - Jon Gruden - I have been told he has already been discussed in-house and is legitimately in consideration there, and I do know for a fact that Gruden wants that job. I am not 100% sure he will be back as a HC this year given he has his lawsuit still ongoing with the NFL, but I am certain if not this year than next. But I do know there is legit interest in him from more than one team and I know Gruden for sure wants back in, and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see him land in Chicago and also drop/settle his suit. Saints - Aaron Glenn - I think you had this right when you said if he doesn't go to the Jets he probably lands here. For what its worth, a friend of mine works in the marketing department for the Saints...and while she has no real insider knowledge, she did say she has heard Glenn's name a lot when I reached out to see what she was hearing about Joe Brady. Jags - Pete Carrol - I agree about their focus being on salvaging Trevor and that contract...I can see Coen or any of the hot OC's being real strong candidates there, but I also think they may go at it different and go get a proven winning HC and make a big push to try and get someone like Pete Carrol. There are some pieces in place there that I think will make this opening appealing for Carrol too. Raiders - Brian Flores - I did not really have anyone in mind here for the Raiders as Vrabel would be an obvious choice, but I have felt like he was going to end up in NE after Mayo got fired. But I have always felt Flores was a good HC who got a raw deal and deserves another shot. So after you posted him and your reasons, it was hard to find any fault in it, so this is more of me agreeing with you than anything. Personally, I don't think Brady is going to leave this year. If the Bills don't win the SB, especially if we lose in first 2 rounds again, everyone in the world knows that McD's seat has to be warm, if not hot. I think Brady sticks it out another year here to wait for a more attractive opening with maybe a back of the mind thought that more attractive opening could potentially be here with Josh Allen if the Bills don't get to the big dance this playoffs or next.
  2. No disrespect...but the amount of money a person makes at work should not ever dictate how they handle life outside of work. Doesn't matter if he got paid $20 an hour or $20M a year to do his job...it's irrelevant in how he should handle personal and family emergencies, tragedy, etc. The size of your pay check does not change your priorities or responsibilities at home.
  3. While there is some truth to this, I hope you do realize that is very personal and different for every individual on Earth. People deal with loss, tragedy, sickness, injuries, etc all very differently. You can't say well Brett did it (or Josh when his Grandma passed) and so everyone else should act accordingly as well. People lose site that these are human beings with their own individual human emotions and nuances...these aren't video game characters sent here as slaves to the fans to abandon all humanity in their lives for the sake of the fans desire to see other human beings compete in a game. Coop is obviously back, so whatever was going on with him was weighed by him on whether or not he should play and he has made the personal decision to play. But that decision should have no bearing on the next players situation when it inevitably arises for some player on some team in any sport played in the world.
  4. First things first: When Beane drafted Coleman, he wasn't then, nor ever going to be, the "final piece" to the WR room. I feel like some had that expectation or have this mentality that he has to be that to justify his selection...and that just isn't the case. He has WR1 potential, but at the same time we are building an offense that doesn't need that dominant WR1 150 target WR either. Second, if you remove this high bar expectation and see him more for how he can fit together within a group here, there is a substantially higher potential for him here. He brings things to the table that quite frankly were not only missing, but Josh had yet to have here. His size, athleticism, body control, blocking, etc all can have a tremendous amount of value to both this team and Josh as he continues to grow as a player. And that very well can turn him into a very good WR1. And to do that, you surround him with guys that help attack in ways that are not his strong suit. I liked the Coleman pick and I still like it now. I think he has the right work ethic, approach, and mentality to reach his potential in Buffalo. Like many rookies, he had some ups and downs this year, but that is common and to be expected. Missing time due to injury didn't help either. I think he fits in well here and Beane will look to keep putting guys around him that allow the offense to be dynamic and to keep leaning on individuals strong suits.
  5. Nah, McDaniels and the Fins lose when Tua starts too. In 3 seasons, they have only beaten a team with a winning record a total of 4 times. 2022 they lost 5 in a row in their last 6 games with Tua making the final game a win and in, lose and go home game for the Fins. And ironically, Tua didn't play the final game and a 3rd string rookie started and snapped the 5 game losing streak to help Miami limp into the playoffs as the 7th seed.d 2023 they blew a huge divisional lead against by losing 3 of their final 5 games, again with Tua, going from divisional winners and potential 1 or 2 seed earlier in the season to barely making the playoffs again as the 7th seed (again). 2024 They went 6-5 with Tua as the starter and were 1-4 against teams with a winning record (only beating the Rams) in the games Tua played.
  6. At this point, it would not at all surprise me if Lamar won it. But I still come back to the fact that because this is the first year in 5 years I did not put a preseason bet on Allen winning MVP (was going to, just was getting ready for 2nd baby and prepping for a move and totally forgot)...so this will now be the year that he wins it. So when he does, you know who to thank haha
  7. While this would be amazing...I think you are being too hopeful here. Shakir has earned a ton of respect around the league. When other coaches, GM's, players, analysts talk about him, they gush about him...not to mention our own teams extremely high opinion of him. Now add in the bigger caps now, and this feels a bit unrealistic IMHO. I do however think its a mutual fit and want here between Shakir and the Bills, so I do believe he will sign for less than he would get on the open market if he waits another year for FA. I think the mid teens is much more probable (like $15-$17M per). But like @NewEra stated, I hope you are right because he would be a steal at $12M per.
  8. Shhhhh...you are going to stir up the "We must mortgage everything for WR's" crowd... Totally agree with you and its what I have been saying repeatedly for a while and its also historically true as well for Super Bowl winning teams. Does that mean you shouldn't have good WR's and roll with scrubs? Of course not, but scheme, fit, execution, and consistency matter a lot more than over investing into the WR position from a cap perspective. In terms of importance...if you want to win in the post season consistently...you better win in the trenches. That being said, without question WR should and will be a priority this offseason. We either will resign Cooper (I hope this only happens on a cost friendly deal, hes not worth higher WR1 money) or they will address it via trade, FA, or draft. Beane by no means was ever "done" at WR last offseason, we had $31M in dead cap at the WR position and not a lot of cap maneuverability in a mini cap reset year. Beane even stated it was Coopers price tag that made him gettable mid season. So I fully expect an investment into the WR position either from bringing some guys back or adding to the group in other ways. I have not had time to look at the FA market ahead of next season, so not sure what kind of player he can find there (outside of Cooper), but there are some potential trade targets and of course the draft too if we don't bring Cooper back.
  9. Well that may be a one off after the disaster that became lol...
  10. What excuses are the Dorsey defenders going to make this time? Still can’t believe some people over the offseason were trying to claim Dorsey firing was a mistake (even calling his firing just a scapegoat by McD) and the offense was better with Dorsey than Brady 😂
  11. Yeah, if you read my follow up posts I am not a fan of his...I was just relaying information
  12. Personally, I think he wont play. I think the idea of both winning a SB with a 3rd team and that being the first SB in that teams history will matter more to Von than the incentive. He already made a lot of money for doing very little last year and its why it was him who willingly took a pay cut instead of reworking his deal this year that really helped the Bills for this season. If the $1.5M was that hyper important to him, he would have made a case to play more down the stretch. The writing has been on the wall for weeks that this team was almost certainly going to have nothing to play for this final week and the key players would play very little or not at all. While I think someone like Milano needs to play a little as he is still playing himself into peak shape, I really don't expect much play time for anyone else. With a gauntlet that likely already includes Lamar and Mahomes (assuming no earlier round upsets) and possibly Burrow, they are not going to risk the season on someone pursuing some stats.
  13. I hope the Jets hire Rex, that would be the most fun from an entertainment perspective lol
  14. Im not so sure he is as good as reputation...I think he missed the playoffs 6 of his last 7 years as a HC if I am not mistaken. And when he was ousted from Tampa Bay, it was because he had lost the locker room and team. He is going to be a hot candidate when he is back, whether its this year or next, but I think he is overrated personally.
  15. I didnt say he was a good choice, just that he was a legit candidate for the Jets and multiple teams. In fact, from what I am told he could even have a FO title along with being HC in his next job, which I think would be an even worse decision. Agreed, I would rather them hire him than Vrabel. But I think there is a better chance Gruden goes to the Bears than the Jets
  16. I agree, and I know that is another place he has legitimately been discussed internally this off season already. Additionally, Gruden has recently even publicly made comments about how Chicago would be a place he would want to go this year if offered the job as Gruden loves Caleb. It’s not a lock he will be back this year because of the lawsuit, but I would bet money if not his year then next. But based on what I was told, I think there is a strong chance it will be this year and it’s going to involve Gruden dropping the suit as a condition of the hiring. I know Gruden badly wants back in and there are jobs he likes that are open now, like Chicago and the Jets, several of which have either already established mutual interest or expected to have interest if the suit goes away. Also, don’t be surprised if he does get hired and has some FO role as well. Personally I think that’s a terrible idea to mix the FO in with any HC, but from what I’ve heard it could be on the table.
  17. I don’t know what’s online, but I am telling you I know first hand that I know Gruden is being discussed for multiple jobs and specifically that there is high mutual interest between the Jets and Gruden. The complication is Grudens lawsuit, but that’s easily resolved if he drops the suit to get back in. Mark my words, Gruden will be a HC either this year or next as he badly wants back on the sidelines.
  18. Don’t forget Allen who is going to get a new deal this offseason too
  19. Jon Gruden is also a serious candidate for the Jets and multiple teams. He’s gonna be back this year or next.
  20. I think they should sit Bernard and Dorian this week and let Milano play a little bit like the first quarter or so to keep Milano sharpening his tools for the playoffs. We still have Dorian for insurance in a worst case scenario with Milano. But with the possibility of going Burrow, Lamar, Mahomes I would much prefer Milano closer to his best self.
  21. I agree, and I was someone who felt SVPG was going to be the eventual starter when he was drafted, likely next year. I really like his potential still at center, but like you said, it is really hard to imagine they make any OL changes ahead of next year with how well its played this season.
  22. I whole heatedly agree. I feel like we have historically played Lamar well and have more confidence in slowing them down than I do the Bengals, who in the partial game and full game we played against them we seemed to have no answers. Earlier this year against the Ravens, we got caught up in a bad game giving up an 80 yard run on the first play to Henry that seemed to put the whole team on its heals in its first test of adversity since the opening half of week 1. I am not going to assume it will be like that again, especially at our home this time. The Ravens IMHO are still the 2nd scariest offense to me in the AFC playoffs just given my lack of confidence in defending the run, but like you said, I am much more concerned about defending the Bengals offense right now than anyone else in terms of our defense.
  23. To be clear, I wasn't arguing against Cook...I was refuting the "travesty" part. Mixon had as much of a right/case for the pro bowl vote as Cook did, it wasn't a travesty was the point.
  24. Oh I agree about the Ravens for sure, they are a scary matchup with how much we have struggled with defending the run. But Bengals are far more scarier than the Broncos are to me right now because Burrow is maybe playing better than anyone right now himself, and our defense has been a** down the stretch. The 2 teams that scare me right now, in terms of our defense having to face them, are Bengals and Ravens. I am pretty confident in beating the Broncos, and if we were to face off against the Chiefs in the AFCCG this year, this is probably the most confident I have ever been at winning that game. Last year I was actually pretty concerned heading in as we had no LB's and I knew the Chiefs were going to exploit that all game, which they did. The Bills offense indoors on turf vs LA and Det is a different animal than the offense that played at home the past 2 weeks. So what makes me nervous is having to go toe to toe with another elite offense in less than ideal to bad weather at home. People always talk about our home field advantage, but its not much of an advantage IMHO given it impacts our offense as well and the best teams we are facing in the playoffs play plenty of games in bad weather as it is too, so they are well seasoned to play in those conditions. If we were playing Miami, sure its an advantage. KC, Balt, Cincy, Denver, Pitt...these guys are all used to playing in cold weather games, so its not anymore an advantage over them than any other "home" game would be anywhere else. The debate of dome or no dome is long over...but seeing Allen in LA and Det just made me think about what could have been over Allens career had we done something even like SoFi where its still got the outdoors feel with the open air design while still having a roof. I get why they went away from it, but can't help but imagine what Allens already record breaking stats would like playing under a roof at home.
  25. How do I feel about the defense...I will just say this...please don't let the Bengals get in.
