  1. I will find a way to be miserable darn it!
  2. This is not a glowing review of support for McDermott, but Dorsey definitely was not working. During the offseason people on here were bubbling with the acquisition of Dalton Kincaid. Of particular note was going to be how the Bills could dictate coverage and manufacture mismatches by starting in a base 12, but could then put Kincaid into motion as effective 11 personnel, or could overload coverage as run plays. I saw none of that. I saw too much running QB draws out of shotgun that worked one time. Allen is going to need to be coached back up. I don't know if it's easy, but Dorsey was not doing it. He had no second punch.
  3. Badly needed IMHO. I don't know if Brady is any better but something has to change
  4. I was going to do this last night after the game, but the site crashed from our collective misery. So, while it's still mostly fresh in my head, he's the overwhelming reaction: I consider myself an optimist when it comes to the Bills: I weathered the drought, and I remember going through every permutation in which they might get into the playoffs. I generally had high hopes for this year, and there are definitely bright spots still. I am not a "style points" guy who thinks that we need to be winning by 20 point margins every week. But something is perfectly clear: this team isn't Super Bowl caliber. Yes, I know that any team go on fire at the right time, but at this point the hurtles are too many, and actually making the playoffs looks chancy. This team has gone backwards. The saying goes that success has many fathers while failure is an orphan, but there isn't one point of failure. It's in multiple spots. There isn't a quick plug and play fix where slotting in one more guy is going to dramatically change the teams fortunes. It needs to be gutted. Our roster is old and expensive, and it's time to get younger and cheaper. All of that spells a rough 2024. ____ I wanted Ken Dorsey to step into the OC job when Daboll left. It made sense, the man who knew Josh Allen best in the building and who had been groomed for the job. It ain't working. It feels like the man is oversmarting himself at every turn. Yes, I know fans accused Daboll of that, but it has taken him a criminally long time to utilize some of the talents he has. I don't even mind the Allen turnovers so much as he very clearly is forcing it. Something is wrong with the coaching and scheme. I am not saying we roll out Chip Kelly. I have been skeptical of the "hire the guy who shook the hand of Sean McVeigh" approach. But Josh is best when he is gaming, and I feel there has to be something to utilize motion in a way we are not doing and setting things up for Allen to play off script. I doubt something happens midseason, but SOMETHING has to change. - We should not bid on Gabe Davis. That is all. I would have been against it to begin with, but that tip drill reminded me of his limitations. Shakir can be a #4 receiver, Davis can't be a #2. Someone will wildly overbid for him and good luck to them. It shouldn't be us. - I am giving James Cook a pass. I am sorry, but at least he had heart. He came to play when it looked like others are sleepwalking. - I would like to apologize to Leslie Frazier. It seems McDermott can't stop end of game drives either. And seriously, how many times are we going to get burned by "shovel pass to the RB while the QB is being tackled"

  5. No. This was the easy part of the schedule and we are 5-5. Are you going to tell me that the Bills are going to go out and win five out of: NY Jets (who haven't died and Allen has historically struggled against) @Phildelphia (9-1) @KC (8-2) Dallas Chargers Pats @Miami with Miami having something to play for And even if we manage to squeak in with 9 wins, this team isn't going on a run. Burn it down.
  6. Agreed. Those three players are my bright spots. I'm currently on a "burn it all down" mood for everything else.
  7. How many times does a Bills play grab that ball and it's not a catch?
  8. I'm just furious because of the sheer number of times the Bills get calls like that overturned
  9. If Buffalo is on offense, that's not a TD
  10. Sweet Jesus, did someone smear Vaseline on our WRs gloves?
  11. Especially for next year. "Unguaranteed base salary" effectively means that the Bills get first negotiating rights. There are so many ways to change that number: outright cuts, pay cuts, extension, conversion to void years
  12. Not a bad deal. Starting caliber player for an effective 4th. Almost no cap hit this year, and will be going into a contract year with 0 guarantees next year. If we like what we see, the Bills have a ton of leverage to get him on a new deal. If we don't we can cut bait with no strings.
  13. Just as a bit of perspective: Howie Roseman was absolutely reviled in Philadelphia in 2014 and 2015. You got articles like this: https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2015/12/31/10693256/eagles-howie-roseman-tom-donahoe-general-manager-jeffrey-lourie-chip-kelly-fired-power-structure
  14. There is little chance of White being good to go week 1. This could be more than a rental
  15. I think it's just instinct. That's what the off-season and training camp scouts noticed but he remains sure handed. It translates into consistent YAC
  16. I'll say Kincaid has absolutely shown reason to be funneled to. He has an 88% catch rate and always seems to pick up a few YAC. Right now he's a younger Beasley. I'm less enthusiastic about Shakir, but I think he can be what Gabe Davis was at his best: a hypercompetant #4
  17. Refs needed a backdoor cover for the oddsmakers
  18. I don't hate him, but #2 we get stupid amounts of money thrown at them. I would not get in a bidding war Precisely. He's a fantastic #4, and has been passable #2. We need an upgrade not break the bank to keep him
  19. Thank you autocorrect. Davis. I don't care if Davis leaves in free agency
  20. Well that certainly was a game. It is the one that I've enjoyed the most in a month, but even that couldn't be clean. There was so much that I had to rattle off first impressions The Good This was the gameplan that TBD members have been calling for. Josh was allowed to run in brief spots. They played with tempo. They had rhythm for the first time in a month. Wrinkles will be needed, but I think we have the general formula. 1st TD for Dalton Kincaid! Today was the coming out party and he's earned it. He looked every bit what we hoped for in the offseason. We've needed a safety valve, and I think he looks the part once the Bills allowed him to be. Sam Martin. While I didn't love all the times the Bills punted away, Martin made it a smart call. 3 punts within the 10, 2 punts within the 5, and the last one should have been at the 2. I prefer not having him be a player of interest, but he's doing good work. Shakir looks like a viable #4 WR these last few weeks. It's good to know, if the Bills get David walk. Terrel Bernard was all over the field. While losing Milano is devastating, I was legitimately calling MLB our defensive position of weakness before the season started and Bernard is playing at a Pro Bowl level right now. The Bad I need someone to run some analytics about out efficiency running out of shotgun. Because whenever I notice that we've done so, it's been a catastrophe. I'll give Dorsey flowers overall, but there was no reason not to tush push Josh at the goal line. If you worried about his health, hand it off to Harris, but don't make the distance longer. The Irritating Once again, the refs seems to be the MVP of a game. I saw something like 20 penalties called, and a bunch were backbreakers. To me, the second drive extending 4th down penalty is inexcusable. Phillps has Mayfield, a QB who has shown that he will throw the ball away in the process of being sacked and have magic happen, wrapped up. Mayfield is being driven backwards. Forward progress has stopped. The play isn't blown dead. Phillips can either smash a defenseless QB, let him make a play or do his best to wrap him up. He chose 3, and had incidental facemask contact making the tackle. It had no effect on the play. It certainly had no effect on reversing a 4th and long and turning it into a 1st and 10. Again. Tonight is the 1st night in many years when the refs lost a game. Our time management. Why are we calling timeouts at the worst spots? My stream resolution was... To compare it to a virus filled pirate stream is an insult to the pirates
