I know there was some worry about him protecting the blind side, but the man looked like a stud, both as pass protecting Fitz against Hali and helping Spiller run. Did you see that block he laid out on CJ's second touchdown? Priceless. Gilmore is looking better, but Glenn has looked like a beast against some very good pass rushers.

I would agree that it doesn't hurt to look. Look, whether or not you like Fitz (which I happen to do) I have to ask one simple question: do you see Ryan Fitzpatrick as a franchise quarterback, the guy that we speak of with the same tone as Jim Kelley? I think Fitz is our best option this season. There were/are so many problems to fix that trading up crazy high to get RGIII wasn't an option. I wan't Fitz running this offense this year. Next year too. The year after that...I'm open to suggestions.

Every week should be a must win game. But seriously, the Chiefs were 7-9 last year. They don't have gimmicky quarterback to distract the Bills preparation. They are an average team, coming into a home opener where the players will hopefully be fired up and determined after last week. If we CAN'T put up a good showing here, I don't see much reason to expect to go to the playoffs.

Look, I'm a big Fred Jackson fan too. I think he has a great story, and last year he was one of the best backs in the league. But last year, Spiller did a bang up job as his replacement. And against one of the great defenses of the league Spiller put up enough yards to lead the lead the league in rushing and put up over 200 yards. Week one sucked, I'm not going to stop being a Bills fan because of it.

What? With our dynamic and large receiver corps? We're full up.

Spiller indeed made a critical mistake with that fumble, but you could tell that he was trying to make an incredible catch and was hit a second later. Jackson is out for at least a month so we might as well make the best of Spiller. If he could run like that against the Jets, I can't wait to see him for the next three games!!!

Now, God forbid that something bad has happened to Freddy. I really wish him the best. But really, if worst comes to worst, from what I've seen Spiller looks like he can more than hold his own. Discuss.

It has to be a shot at the Bills. but it can't be too bad. Maybe a shot at how much Fitz makes as a Harvard grad compared to how much we paid Mario.

That's good enough for me too. Even if he's at 90%, it will force the Jets to stick Revis on him and we can beat Cromartie and their 3rd cornerback.

I'm not singing The Doom Song yet, but the Giants play should ground our expectations. Just having an impressive front four does not guarantee success against a quarterback.Romo looked very good, even with the constant pressure all night, and just beat the Giant's secondary. Fortunately, we aren't playing many elite QB's until the Pats, which hopefully will give time for our secondary to get up to speed, and we play a weak O-line and average to bad QB's this week.

No first game of the season is a must win. We play 16 of them after all. That said, I think it's a real test to see how far along we are. The Jets had a better record than us, are favored to win in a road, division game. Losing is a setback. Winning gives us momentum going into two very winnable games against KC and Cleveland before the next big test against the Patriots.

Apparently after trying to hide the Wildcat all summer, preventing any cameras and barring the media from practices, the suddenly we have the shocking news about Tebow running the Wildcat. Smoke and mirrors from Rex.

I've thought about this two, and now that we have only 4 WR I think this may be one of the formations we're running a lot of. We can always but one of the RB into motion, especially when you considerSpiller got practice on WR routes last season. Since both can run, and with different styles I could see this being a big headache for the Jets.

Man, I would love for this to happen. I personally don't think it will, but that would be a great start. To me, it comes to a few matchups: Jets O-line vs Bills D-Line I think the Bills have the edge here. What matters, is exactly how much they do. Since the O-line is essential to the run game and any passes longer than a quick dump or screen. The Jets have not had a lot of success there this preseason. They've made some personnel adjustments in the final weeks, so I can't say for sure, but from Weeks 1-3, I can see them getting eaten alive by Mario, Dareus, Kyle and Anderson. Shonn Greene is a good running back, but not an elite one IMHO. If we shut down the line, his usefulness to the run game will be minimal In the passing game if the Bills can generate pressure on Sanchez/Tebow with just four guys, this opens up a lot of opportunities. After that, they'll need to watch for TE's, which would match against our nickel LB Scott and CB McKelvin. The two typical ways to counteract a pass rush are Max Protect schemes and the spread offense. Max Protection means maybe three recievers, matched up against potentially 7 defenders. Big Ben could beat it, with an elite arm and high powered receivers. Sanchez has neither. Tebow is a worse passer. If they have solid tight ends, they may try the spread but again, it doesn't play to their QB's strengths. Bills TE's and WR against Jet's Secondary There is no denying that the Jets Secondary is strong. They have an elite CB in Revis, a very good one in Cromartie, and a very strong safety combo with Landry and Bell. While Stevie Johnson has historically had success against Revis if he does well the Jets will double team him if there is no other threat. I am willing to bet that the Bills will play many 4 WR sets, or maybe some 2 TE if they use Dickerson that way. I honestly don't expect Donald Jones to win many matchups, so I will be looking more at how Nelson, Graham, Chandler and Dickerson do. If they can open up the Jets, the Bills offense can give a reason not to have 8 men in the box.

As I think I've mentioned, I just moved to Philadelphia for grad school. Now, I have a Bills bar some distance away, and NFL rewind in case I don't make it. However, this week the Eagles game is on Fox, while the Bills playing the Jets on CBS. The Steelers are playing SNF, the Ravens on Monday night and the Giants are playing SNF. Since the Jets are the biggest market that is being aired at that slot I think there's a chance they'll show the game. Problem is, I can't seem to confirm it. Does anyone know when the broadcast choices are finalized?
