  1. To be honest, I don't think his performance last night will be enough to make the team. That said, if he is placed on the practice squad he finally has a chance to keep working during the season. Considering that rate at which we went through receivers last year keeping him around may not be a bad idea.
  2. You know, if Brad Smith has gone down and we're finally abandoning this Wildcat experiment maybe Pigpen lives to be at the bottom of the depth chart another day.
  3. Well, I would nitpick about one game or the other but any way to slice it up so that we get a 10-6 record, I'll take
  4. If Thigpen looks great today, I will keeping an eye out for four guys running past my house on horseback, accompanied by a lot of screaming.
  5. You know, I probably wouldn't even have noticed if had snuck one replacement in at a time. But we've kept seeing questionable calls/noncalls. That's not unusual, but the sheer number reported around the league is scary. The NFL is going to lose leverage is the replacements go for more than a week.
  6. I do think that it's going to be a battle in the trenches. When the Jets have the Ball The Jets have been notably awful this preseason. When they were at their best, they had L.T. and were running the ground and pound. Shonn Greene is decent, but I would not say that he is a huge threat Three games in, their offense has no touchdowns. They may have a wrinkle or two with the wildcat, but their O-line has been abysmal and will be lining up against a very talented front four. Unlike Big Ben, I doubt either Sanchez or Tebow will be able to keep making plays out of the Max Protect scheme. The Bills secondary, while not there yet, will be against Santonio Holmnes just back from injury and...Angelo Cromartie? I'm not afraid. When the Bills have the Ball Rex Ryan will be stupid to not put 8 men in the box. He will be daring Fitz to throw. The only bright spot I can think of is that Stevie utterly torched Revis the last time they played. Whether or not the Bills will be effective will rely entirely upon whether Fitz gets his chemistry with his recievers back. Special Teams Moorman has been on, which looks like a good thing considering the number of punts that will be coming. Overall, the Bills edge it out. In the end, the Bills have a barely competent offense against an incompetent offense. Barring some dramatic shift, the Bills edge it out in a close one.
  7. Lol. Figures that would be what it takes. But all in all, if the league is filling to pay for it, think of the injuries it may prevent. Maybe they should use it as a bargaining chip.
  8. I think our weak link is going to be our linebackers. They really haven't looked so good in pass protection.
  9. Ouch...yeah, I have a feeling that McGee is going to get cut.
  10. How good Wilson is does not affect whether Graham was a reach or not. If he pans out as a starter, that makes Wilson a steal for the Seahawks. No one was expecting him to go so high, or to play as well as he's played. You have to look at each player for their own merits in relation to when they were picked. McKelvin is a disappointment for a first rounder, even though it looks like he's found a home as an entirely capable nickel corner. Now, I was one of the people who was not a fan of the pick, and it's still early but there's no denying that he can stretch the field and is learning his routes at least well enough to pull off that 64 yard grab. He's definitely not completely there yet, but none of our rookies are. I would not be surprised if he makes a play for #2 WR sometime this season.
  11. I know I was one of the people who joined in the collective "WHO?!?" when we drafted him, but from how he's looked in training camp I think he has a shot to be our #2
  12. They're coming in right now. Who, if anyone, would you try to grab?
  13. Well, we really have to ask the question of "who do we have after Chandler"? Considering how thin we are on receiving options, and Fitz's generally preferred range being short having a TE would be a nice addition. But of course...RALPH IS CHEAP, FITZ CAN'T THROW, NO WAY WE'LL GET HIM!
  14. I'll be completely honest with you: the exact same thing happened to me a few months ago. We kept it going for a year afterwards, but it sounds like we had the same problem: moving on out after school, going to different cities and barely seeing each other. It sucks. It completely sucks. But you tried, and if you loved her there was no way you were simply going to give up without doing that much.
  15. Seventh round? I think that's entirely fair for a backup, and sixth is ok if we actually need to use him.
  16. Just looked at the video. Ouch. I feel bad for him, especially now that it looks like it may be career ending. Again, I don't wish for injuries but man if that doesn't make me feel better about our chances against the Jets in two weeks.
  17. Well, as much as the past decade has done its best to make me pessimistic, I'm still excited. I think it still deserves mentioning that the Steelers are a very good defensive team and our starters did a good job keeping it even. That said, I think our LB's and CB's still obviously need work and Fitz is still out of synch. 13 days to get it right...
  18. Anyone think that we could have a shot at Welker in 2013?
  19. I will not do the "asking karma for trouble" thing and say that I'm happy DeCastro is injured. I'm not. I don't wish injuries on players. (other than Tom Brady, who has clearly made some deal with the devil) What I will say, is that I'm excited to see a D-line that can shove a guy five yards back to take that injury. I'm excited to see how other offenses view that, and maybe make their O-lines piss themselves a little.
  20. Apparently we're getting TJ cheaper than we expected. Though we now need initials that won't confuse people with our WR...
  21. I'm honestly surprised. My only guess is that VY cost more money than Thigpen, and any team which is relying on their third-stringer is screwed.
  22. I checked the Seattle boards, and they feel pretty happy with things. They would be happy with a 5th round pick, and they think that TJ, while a decent player, would be a lockerroom cancer with Flynn and their new rookie.
  23. Jackson's play style fits with what we need far more than Tebow.
  24. One fewer blocker for their O-line.
