I have to say, that was a classy move by Lindell. The logical part of me is happy to have a young guy who costs less and has a bigger leg, But I remember him being one constant though the last era while a lot of things were rather awful.

1) That's good to hear. From what has been said, he may very well be ready to go Week 1 if Kolb flakes during the next preseason games. 2) Agreed. This isn't just a game against New England. It's going to be a game against New England, played at home, without the Pats having any video on our full offense, and with Gronkowski likely out, that means that they will not be fielding any of their top five receiving targets from last year against a revitalized (we hope) Bills defense. This is suddenly looking like a winnable game, and if you take even one on the pats it's worth doing.

To be honest, my first thought was: "Well, what does that tell you about the draft?" But really, that's a pretty impressive assemblage of talent, much of which has underperformed or remains untapped or untried. To me, this is the big question. I think that, without a doubt, there are a great deal of talented players here. Unlike last preseason, they actually seem to be effective against other offenses. But the real question seems to be whether or not Pettine can bring everyone together. Even if we have a few disappointments, if the scheme works, this defense could be really nasty.

Something like that. As much as I hate to say it, McKelvin really is the second best option for an outside corner that we have. We took no one for the position during the draft, two of our brighter prospects (Brooks and Robey) seem ideally suited to be used in nickel and dime packages. We are dangerously thin at the position.

I'm going to miss these once camp closes. After the preseason game this weekend we're back to idle speculation.

Huh...you know, before camp I would have said no. But with Rodgers, McKelvin and Butler all being big question marks and Robey and Brooks looking exclusively like slot players I think the Bills should give him a call.

I came on to remind people that we did the exact same thing last year with Wanny's defense. That it is utterly premature to lionize this group before they prove themselves. And then I saw this: That is just too perfect.

I hope you're right about that. I'm also overwhelmed at the number of times the word "Minor" was used, and the coaching staff clearly doesn't seem pressured to start him in any more preseason. While I think we really ought to see how Kolb handles things this week, unless he really redeems himself after struggling with the Viking's defense, I don't see him winning the starting job outright. He might look good enough to handle things week 1, and if so I wouldn't be worried if Manuel really does need an extra week or two in order to be safe, but I do think that based on the first two PS games and what we've seen in practice, EJ is our guy.

I learned my lesson from last time. No more hoping for Pats* to be injured Week 1. That said, I don't know his absence would be as devastating as we were predicting back when he first heard word about Hernandez. After the way our own rookies are looking, I'm not ruling on anything quite yet,

You know, I didn't see much, but what I did, I would have to agree with you. I came in late (last quarter) and Barkley and whoever the 4th stringer was looked like they were barely moving. I would love to see the total snap count, because even Tuel was running it quicker, and without any delay of game penalties. Chip Kelly is being praised for putting up 36 points in two games, while the Bills offense put up 30 in one, not counting the special teams play. I still would hold off to see if this gets repeated, but I seriously think that the Bills are running a faster offense.

Living In Philly right now. everyone makes a big deal about the new chip kelly offense, but while fast, I think the Bills are faster.

Is it me, or does that sound nigh impossible to defend if you have a QB who has the arm to deliver it? TJ is best as a pure edge burner, and if you can let Goodwin cut up inside, where do you put the safeties? Both can outspeed most CB's and can you imagine Marquise working on a nickel corner?

Seriously. I'm starting to wonder if he might have been a better pick than Woods. I remember immediately post draft that people (myself included) were questioning the pick because we already had Graham. Goodwin can be used so many ways, and I can already imagining special teams coordinators reaching for a bottle of Jack after seeing those kickoff returns. They better kick it out the back of the end zone every time.

Strange, I didn't see one of those on the Bills record to denote "Ryan Fitzpatrick got flattened, broke multiple ribs, was in agony and lost all his confidence" back in 2011 Because injuries are part of the game. If Brady doesn't play week one, the game will be won and lost by the players on the field, not the guy riding pine. Seriously Cat, it's like we're running the same playbook on this one.

I'm not cheering for injuries. And I don't think I'll cheer about the injury itself. I'm just delighted by the possible ramifications.and paradigm shift of Brady being out Week 1...or possibly the season...or possibly ever.
