  1. Come on now. Perhaps he's being used sparingly as they try to develop him into an all around player, and he so far hasn't accrued much in the way of statistics, but there's no way that is literally true. The Bills offense overall is in a much worse way than each of those other teams, even Detroit.
  2. Does anyone remember when Chris Spielman was recovering from a neck injury after the 1997 season? He sat out all of 1998, and he later acknowledged that the Bills continued to pay him when they did not have to do so while he took extra personal time to care for his wife as she was dealing with cancer. Ralph also paid Troy Vincent more than the necessary injury settlement in 2006 when he was upset the front office released him. These examples fly in the face of the "Ralph is cheap" mantra. Though there may be several divisive figures in the front office dating back to Polian's era (not Polian himself, though he could be difficult), Ralph Wilson himself is certainly not a cruel man.
  3. Removing the facemask is pretty crazy and totally illogical--- but JoePa has a point in the sense that the BodyArmored gladiators of today's football are fearless due to that protection; and the combination of those same protective pads and the fearlessness that comes with suiting up in them are creating human projectiles. I'm not sure how a scaling down of the body armor could be done but it's definitely part of the problem. It's certainly a big part of the problem in hockey.
  4. The technology in regular helmets improved over the years, plus the styrofoam attachment apparently never satisfactorily achieved the expected results in decreased concussion rates. Steve Wallace of the 49ers used it until 1997 and then I think it disappeared.
  5. I think that was the 2nd greatest postseason comeback game with the Giants at San Fran (49ers 39-38 after trailing 38-14)---- it was the Giants long snapper, a pretty good one, too, named Trey Junkin. Oddly enough, he was originally a Buffalo Bill.
  6. What if I'm just one or the other?
  7. It's not about this thread, you've argued Trent in multiple threads as well as the shout box. The point is, nobody gives a **** if you love Trent. Nobody wants you to change your opinion about him or anything else. Just stop carrying the torch and taking on anyone who disagrees with you. You're making yourself out to be a martyr for a worthless cause. I've said it repeatedly: love him to the utmost your ability, just STFU already.
  8. Considering he has had that exact performance every week and it doesn't dissuade those that believe he's a nothing more than a backup, why would another week of it change their minds? Clearer now?
  9. I did notice, but it's also 100% true. So what? I was trying to be civil to you by apologizing the other day and wishing you and your daughter (and even Trent) well, but you're obviously not a classy individual. Try not being so high strung about an ex-Bill and don't worry about whether or not anyone agrees with you. We don't care if you ball wash Trent, but please don't try to convince anyone that he's even an average QB. A good guy maybe, but not a NFL caliber starter. By holding a torch for him you're just pissing people off. Why do you care if anyone agrees? Just let it go. No, it was the "endgame" that completes it.
  10. You didn't take offense because I didn't intend to degrade you, you took offense for someone telling you to STFU, period. Speaking of period, it sounds like your own yours right now. AlphaDawg also conceded "to each his own" and you should have taken it at that, but instead you decided to be a poor loser. Give it up, Trent sucks, you're absolutely being hypocritical, you're an embarrassment, and you have no class. Also, STFU... for real this time. You lose, endgame.
  11. So, he'll basically have the same game he's had every week?
  12. Wow, nice hypocritical attitude. You're embarrassing yourself at this point.
  13. Schopp and the Bulldog can be entertaining at times... but when they start relentlessly harping on a particular point and refuse to hear any dissent and the insults upon the callers begins is when they "jump the shark" into being completely unlistenable: and right now is a perfect example. Chan Gailey's comments (in reference to the potential suspensions for hits to the head) about not wanting the NFL to "turn into a two hand touch league" were only intended to be cautious against the possibility of another "in the grasp" type system being put in place. Where a witch hunt will ensue and the league will go so far in the opposite direction that defensive players will be unsure of what is legal and both penalties and suspensions will not be called in a consistent manner. Players never led with their helmets until now? Dick Butkus was just a hard tackler and didn't put his head down and launch himself at ballcarriers? Give me a !@#$ing break. There are any number of highlight videos on youtube that show old time players tackling in the same fashion. Maybe it's worse now; regardless, it should definitely be corrected to protect players, but it's absolutely ridiculous to pretend that A) this is only a recent issue and B) somehow Gailey is using macho posturing. He clearly said it's a serious issue that needs to be fixed and only tempered it with hope that the league would use the proper restraint. These comments are not worth 3 hours of "B word and moan" radio programming but that's exactly what it'll be followed by a hack "editorial" posted to the wgr website. This is when I want to reach across the radio waves and smack the microphone away from their faces.
  14. Did you happen to notice that there wasn't a single trade in the entire NFL at the deadline? It may be justifiably more crucial for the Bills to make moves than other teams but there still need to be willing trade partners. It appears likely there were none.
  15. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume the banning wasn't due simply to a dissenting opinion. You don't come across as exceptionally tactful and it's easy to see where threads on the subject would turn heated. It's not surprising there were many that held out wishing to see JP develop into the player he was drafted to be: hope based denial is part and parcel to sports fandom. I was never optimistic about JP, but I hoped a magic bullet would hit him between the eyes and he'd suddenly transform into a different QB. It wasn't realistic of course and I knew it wasn't going to happen, but fandom is irrational. If you were tarred and feathered as you suggest... then sorry to hear. This board is much more civil than a lot of forums I've been a part of, but witch hunting gets hot and heavy when it happens to rear it's ugly head.
  16. You don't appear to possess much of an intellect. If you were as obnoxious with your previous account as you are now then it's not really surprising that it was suspended. OMG, you thought JP wasn't going to be very good? I can't imagine that anyone else had that same opinion?!!! What other pearls of incredible wisdom can you offer us, oh great sage? Is grass still green??? If you need to toot your horn it's because no one else is willing to do it for you.
  17. Look me! Me am beat own chest, toot own horn! BLZFAN4LIFE strongest one there is! (pst...nobody cares)
  18. Isn't it quieter due to the bye week? It's not as bad as sabrespace which more or less has 8 or 9 posters actively posting in shifts.
  19. Can we get a hint? As in, what years he played for the Bills, for instance?
  20. I don't get why he seems to be blaming Barry Sanders Jr. for a few message board posters here complimenting a youtube video. Then again, he has "seen some high school highlight videos" in his day so he clearly knows what's up.
  21. I realize he was a RFA, but forcing players to stay where they don't want to be isn't really a good idea. He was already not particularly well thought of in the lockerroom amongst some.
  22. Sounds like a Jauron kind of guy! I guess it's no longer worth discussing if he's really a cream puff. This team needs to rid itself of all the softies and remold into a hard nosed tough group. No need to bring more softies in, if that's the case with Carpernter.
  23. Thanks--- although I really liked him in the Alabama game, despite the hiccup in the end. It was as big of an NFL like pressure situation a young QB can face in college in front of 70,000+ and he handled it well. The last pick near the sideline is something I think he can learn from--- obviously he was trying to get it out of bounds, which was smart, but he didn't make sure it got there. He's only "Bledsoe" in that he's a big dude with a cannon, but Bledsoe was immobile and Mallett can move.
  24. Accuracy is affected by the defensive personnel on the field as well as the defensive scheme being run, so although he had a very good game, what the Colts were putting on the field had an effect for sure. But I absolutely love the idea of Fitz being that bridge to either Mallett or Luck. The Bills are going to need some time make sure the QB they select is ready to make the jump. JP sat most of his rookie year, but remember when they first put him in? A Sunday Night game at New England where the Bills were losing big. They threw Losman to the wolves and asked him to roll out to his right and attempt a pass--- which was picked off by Tully Banta-Cain. Definitely not ideal circumstances for a rookie to get his feet wet, and also damaging to Bledsoe as well I would imagine. Just terrible football management all around.
