  1. Fitz is the first Bills QB to have 3 TD passes in back to back games since Kelly did it in 1990--- big surprise (initially at least) that it's been that long.
  2. Yeah, and according to numerous reporters covering Bills training and mini camps (Paul Hamilton, Mark Gaughan, Tim Graham, a few others) Fitz looked pretty bad in the spring and over the summer. Some guys are practice heroes and some are gamers.
  3. Only because the Bills are giving up 30 points/game... more opportunities. I'm in favor of the Spiller pick, but still.
  4. I'll put it this way: the only reason anyone noticed Howard on the field was because Cornell Green wasn't getting blown up or taking numerous penalties. (In other words, he was very good)
  5. Was the defense that different last year? Couldn't rush the passer consistently, stop the run or cover tight ends. The only difference so far has been takeaways. Plus, Fewell's personnel in NY is obviously superior to Buffalo.
  6. Fitz was great... I think one thing we definitely know about him is that a loss like this won't break his spirit. A lot of guys in that Bills lockerroom are going to feel broke, but if he's worth his salt he can lead them past it. If that makes any sense.
  7. And... done! Just kidding, we'll see.
  8. I was down on Fitz's accuracy, in terms of handing him the reins permanently (despite loving his toughness and guts)... he's made a believer out of me here today. At least for now--- I reserve the right to schizophrenically change my opinion when he next throws a terrible pass!
  9. Peace wasn't there, but he did swear by Cowturd---- it was dayman. He had a few reasonable points on the subject when he finally got around to it, and I'm not going to rag on him. But he was, you know... completely wrong.
  10. Boy, pretty objective, huh? The NFL bubble does seem like it's about to burst, though.
  11. That's what I told the dude in the shout box, but he wasn't having it. Whether it's the Giants or the Phils, it should be a good Series.
  12. Waitaminute... I thought I heard here in the shoutbox the other day that MLB is a "regional league" and will disappear within a few years... but the NBA is growing exponentially at startling rates? Oh well.
  13. I wish the 'Spos had come to Buffalo rather than DC. Then again, I wish the Miami franchise had been awarded to B-lo as it should have been back in '92 or whatever. Bunch of bull ****. Braves in '76, all the way.
  14. I'm so disappointed in the Sabres management this past offseason: bull **** tearful postseason press conference gushing about how badly they want a championship for the City of Buffalo and how dedicated they are to making the right changes to ensure it... and then absolutely nothing. Bunch of jerkoffs. To watch that same soft team cuddle and wilt game after game makes me sick. Wouldn't it be a kick in the teeth if the Bills only "home" win in 2010 was at Toronto?
  15. An "Upset City" is certainly an accurate term to describe Buffalo's mood regarding the 2010 Bills.
  16. There was actually a 3rd but it was deleted. The man is prolific with his vitriolic minimalist observations. He's like the Charles Bukowski of The Stadium Wall, only without poetic merit of any kind.
  17. Keeping Kelsay at OLB and Stroud at DE in the 4-3 alignment is probably a sign that they're still serious about transitioning to the 3-4 fulltime; but also an acknowledgment that they don't have the right personnel to be successful with it at the moment.
  18. So does Belichick--- listening to him on media day during Bills-Pats week you'd think the Bills were the team that won 3 Super Bowls this past decade. Isn't it fairly common amongst coaches?
  19. Mallett was arrested for, I think, a public intoxication charge or somesuch sometime earlier this year. That doesn't scare me off considering Jim Kelly was practically bragging in his autobiography Armed & Dangerous about drunk driving (which I'd consider much worse): he had an old VW bug when he was a Hurricane that had a rusted out hole in the floor on the driver side. Whenever he would get pulled over he'd simply lift the floor mat and place the open beer bottles on the ground beneath the car. Not exactly bright but they're college kids, after all. They're going to do dumb things and gain a bit of a reputation for an attitude. Of course, Kelly was also a douche for a long time after that. It might've helped him deal with being given "the business" from time to time on the field, and if Mallett has that same quality, we'd be lucky as all hell.
  20. Unfortunately, Mallett also has another year of eligibility left. If there's a lockout, what are the chances he elects to come out in 2011? I hate to be fatalistic, but I can't deny having the thought of "typical Buffalo bad luck": the year the Bills desperately need to draft a franchise QB and they also possess the #1 pick... yet the potential franchise QBs opt out of declaring, due to NFL labor issues.
  21. Sigh. I wouldn't be crazy about Kelsay covering Condoleezza Rice. It's going to be a long Sunday.
  22. From what I understand, Jauron needed a safety to run his vaunted Tampa 2, and felt that Whitner was the best fit. Ironic that Whitner's struggles in his first few years have been blamed on his inability to properly operate in a 2 Deep zone---- although he's struggling in coverage this year, as well.
  23. That's a shame. I always like Kelso, and persistent migraines can be totally crippling, made all the worse because they can be virtually incurable.
