  1. My point was that ordinarily when a poster infuses some political reference into a statement regarding the Bills on this board it's for no other reason than to incite a riot of some kind. Obama and Bush and even Franklin Pierce have nothing to do with football (although Gerald Ford was an All-American at Michigan)
  2. Hold on a sec--- only a select few posters are allowed to insult and dismiss other posters opinions out of hand with sarcasm and faux witicisms! I hope you're on the list!
  3. I thought that was you?
  4. Those comments were made when he first went in--- initially, he looked like 2008 Trent, but the Titans were playing bend but don't break. When there's no pressure he's adequate, but as soon as Tennessee started pressing he wilted and reverted to form. I don't think it's that difficult to recognize.
  5. The way the Jags are essentially surrendering by repeatedly handing off rather than hurrying up tells me Trent has found the perfect team for his personality.
  6. Wow, he looks decisive for the first time in awhile. Then again, the Titans aren't really pressuring him much.
  7. Nothing changes, indeed.
  8. I think The Senator is right--- the rumor appears to have originated as a speculative post on a blog at bleacherreport.com. The premise is flawed from the get go, but even the Browns' blogger's reasoning makes no sense for the Bills. Hopefully it's just gibberish.
  9. Pretty simple: A) People in Buffalo are hungry for Bills and Sabres related sports talk, B) WGR is the only game in town. Nick Mendola and Brad Riter both do afternoon shows on WECK 1230 but it's not limited to sports, plus during baseball season Mendola is replaced by Yankees broadcasts. It's kind of like how in a small town even the ugly girls can get dates. Supply and demand.
  10. Also, you're literally a moron. Stop posting garbage. If only the Bills had given up on their no. 1 draft pick in 1969 that started out primarily returning kicks...
  11. You literally said the Bills "drafted a kick returner instead" of Trent Williams. "woulda shoulda coulda". Whatever BS trip you're laying out now is trying to save face. By bringing up Williams you were saying the Bills "woulda shoulda coulda" drafted him rather than Spiller. He obviously wasn't available. Also, CJ Spiller is more than a kick returner. Also, Trent Williams is good but didn't have a particularly good game yesterday. Also, the Bills preferred to draft him but he was long gone. Also, everyone in this thread disagrees with you about the value of the Bills drafting Spiller. Also, Demarcus Ware does not play for the Colts. Basically, your entire post is wrong and you need to step back, now.
  12. Dude, he's not laughing with you...
  13. A disproportionate number of Fitz's stats have come against prevent defenses in garbage time. Kelly usually sat out those portions of games and never had a chance to pad his stats in the same way. Additionally, every QB passing against the Jags D has looked like a fantasy superstar--- and the Pats defense has done opposing QBs similar favors. I like Fitz too (a lot, really), but some perspective is necessary when judging his statistics. I'd be ok with him as the starter in 2011 if A) the Bills draft and "groom" a young QB behind Fitz until he is ready or B) there is no franchise QB available in the 1st round that the Bills feel comfortable with---- either, he's no more than a stopgap solution as a starter.
  14. He's already playing QB for the Pats*. Does this mean trigger thinks Tom Brady has a "hot, red ass"?
  15. Was he really criticized? I thought an informal NFL GM's poll of the time showed that there wasn't really much of a debate regarding Manning v. Leaf---- something like only 3 GMs said they would draft Leaf, one of the few to publicly state it being John Butler.
  16. Seriously? If I print out this thread will you sign it for me?
  17. "Fuzzy Math" = George W. Bush... Remember?
  18. What does it have to with Obama? It sounds more like "fuzzy math".
  19. Thanks, dude--- just doing some quick math, Deacon Jones would very possibly be the unofficial all-time sack leader if he played in an era of 16 game schedules. Though, it would've been extremely close (maybe fewer than 10 ahead of Bruce at best--- not to mention, Bruce might've hung on for another year just to break it). An 18 game schedule would really obliterate the stat books. Stats are already artificially inflated for various reasons, and even if more situational players are utilized to keep starters fresh and lengthen their careers, sooner rather than later, the 4,000 yard passer will be the norm and 1,000 yard rushers will mean virtually nothing.
  20. Oh brother... Do we need to wait until Ralph passes on to learn if you're cryptic comments will come to fruition? Or can you just debunk it now and never mention it again?
  21. If anyone would know it'd be his biggest fan! I kid, I kid! Mallett's alright, but the opinions on him are so extreme.
  22. I actually prefer Funeral, but both Neon Bible and The Suburbs worked like a slow burn on me and they're now indispensable pieces of my "record collection". Levi Brown mentioned a love for them as well, which was a big reason I hoped for him to succeed. That, and he's also a Zep fan. Seems like a cool dude with excellent taste.
  23. I think I read on the internet somewhere that Mallett was really good? Or maybe it said he sucks balls, I can't remember. One or the other. Or possibly both.
  24. Dude, you like the Arcade Fire? Neon Bible was a great album.
  25. I don't know which post is funnier: this or the OP. For completely different reasons, of course! BRAVO K-9! (to be fair, Bulaga could eventually develop into a serviceable LT, but it doesn't appear he's well suited for the left side, and certainly not anytime soon) Nix from the Buffalo News: That philosophy dictated Nix's decision with the ninth pick in April's draft, when Buffalo took running back C.J. Spiller. "We felt like we needed to upgrade our offensive line," Nix said of the assessment after he was hired. "We started out looking for that. That was our main emphasis going into the draft. But by the time we got through doing our work, there was one or two guys we felt really strongly about coming in and helping us. And neither one of them were there." Offensive tackles Russell Okung and Trent Williams were taken in the first six picks. "So do we take a guy that everybody thinks we ought to take, a tackle, no matter whether he can play or not?" Nix said. "You can't let that bother you." http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/article185104.ece
