  1. What a great idea! It's not like we have talented young receivers that could use 9 more weeks of playing to develop, nor would it be at all inappropriate to add the biggest quitter in the NFL to a team who's only positive notoriety is in playing hard and not quitting despite being winless! We could certainly sell a few more shirts.
  2. He certainly made a fool of himself in the postgame press conference. If he isn't committed to the Vikings then there's no way they should keep him on their roster. I highly doubt the Patriots will put in a claim, no matter how much he misses them.
  3. Now hopefully they actually claim him! He's another "tweener" (he was a DE in college) but he's definitely an intriguing prospect. We'll know for sure by tomorrow at 4pm or so.
  4. Actually, there's a strange quirk in the waiver wire order rules: the previous years' standings are only used in determining proper waiver claim order prior to completion of the 3rd week of the current season. I recalled this Florio article about Trent Edwards' release where it was clarified by NFL spokesman Greg Aiello: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/09/28/clearing-the-air-on-the-waiver-order-for-trent-edwards/ So, at this point, it will be determined by the 2010 standings and the Bills will have first priority.
  5. Quick, is anyone going to rush out and calculate Fitz's passer rating dating back to Week 17 of 2009?
  6. Does Fitz have small hands? A lot of his bad throws appear to just slip out of his grip.
  7. Did Kelsay just get "Pennington'ed", Eddie Robinson style, by Cassell?
  8. It "must of" been.
  9. That's all true--- Aaron Maybin fit the exact description for quick, undersized D-linemen coveted by Dick Jauron's Tampa 2 defense.
  10. You're implying the Bills were considering it--- I would've fired him and I'm sure 99% of those at TSW would as well. But whatever was said on ESPN was speculation about what they should do and has no bearing on what the Bills were discussing behind the scenes.
  11. Amongst whom... fans? If you're privy to the backroom deliberations at One Bills Drive then you probably have access to other information, such as whether Jauron or Modrak are primarily responsible for drafting Maybin. Why start a poll, then? Maybin was a terrible draft pick. Nix and company have publicly stated they will not make draft picks of that inexperienced and overhyped ilk. Until they do, I'll go with other TSW posters with actuall knowledge of the process and believe Dick Jauron had the final say about taking Maybin.
  12. http://www.wgr550.com/Whitner-Outlines-Bills--Struggles-with-TE-s/8455908 "Both Jairus Byrd and Demetrius Bell returned to practice after missing on Wednesday."
  13. Kelly's Bills were a much much better team than Marino's Dolphins, it wasn't merely the Kelly vs. Marino matchup that decided those games (although I'd still take Kelly over Marino anyday). I'd wager that whether or not Jimbo was better than Dan was considered secondarily to the overall strength of the teams for which they played, not to mention the gaudy statistics Marino had. It's strange that both Jim Kelly & Thurman Thomas are left out of the Top 100---- Thomas was certainly a better RB and all-around NFL player than Tony Dorsett who has already appeared on the list.
  14. That's a pretty interesting bit of analysis--- also interesting to note that Trent Edwards arguably possessed only 2 of the traits in the top 2 lists: Accuracy, Ability to hit receivers in perfect stride.
  15. According to Jerry Sullivan, the -17 on the fumble initially credited to Roscoe was reduced (increased?) to a -9. So, Roscoe also gained 8 yards, I guess. http://blogs.buffalonews.com/sully_on_sports/2010/10/fitz-isnt-done-yet.html
  16. WOW, that sounds like an in-season review of his play the past 2 years, rather than a predraft scouting report... still so upset by Jauron being given control over the pick
  17. Yes, but to be fair, Gailey was a holdover from Herm Edwards staff and wasn't Haley's guy.
  18. If we send him down to Portland will he clear waivers? Oops, wrong board!
  19. Montana came back with the Chiefs in '95 and actually had a better year. His last game was a (I think WildCard) playoff game in Miami that season.
  20. Just a little good natured ribbing! The Chiefs being a perennial contender is nothing but good for the NFL. I've always rooted for the other original AFL teams secondarily, so good for you guys in hopefully turning it around.
  21. Whomever picked Maybin (likely Jauron) is "Scratch" in my book--- "Scratch being a traditional moniker for SATAN ! Only Satan himself would do that to the Bills organization.
  22. It's not Joe Montana's fault the Chiefs defense was steamrolled. Remember the 44-10 Bills-Chiefs divisional playoff game in 1991? That was pretty fun, too
  23. I'm not forgetting that, but who's to say that the Bills will continue the shift to the 3-4 considering they haven't really shifted all that far to it in 2010? They haven't really run it often this season and have already publicly declared they'll be primarily running a 4-3 base for now. Heyward is projected as a 4-3 DE, and although Clayborn is physically a match for a 3-4 DE his strong suit in college is as a pass rusher. His strength and weight room dedication are questionable, and if he doesn't improve in that regard he will struggle against NFL OTs in getting pushed off the ball. He could be a force as a 3-4 DE, but his strength isn't there yet to hold up as a run stopper. Like I said, I like them both, but they each have questions. Yes, but Bruce was an incredible rarity. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/121548-remember-sacks/page__st__40
  24. I've heard the same knock on both Clayborn and Heyward in various pre-draft analysis reports, which is that they don't seem to have pass rushing skills that will translate to NFL success. I don't know that I agree (and I do like them both but I prefer Heyward) but it seems to be a fairly common assessment--- and where there's smoke there's fire. But, like The Senatorial One, I really do like Gabe Carimi, and he absolutely handled both Clayborn and Heyward. It's possible there are more answers on the current roster for the offensive line than there are for the front seven, however, and both of these dudes are worth following. But damn, I forget Ironhead, Sr. had passed on... he was one of my favorite non-Bills
  25. I gotcha--- is that "Bubba" Braxton in your avatar?
