  1. You are incorrect. It had nothing to do with a bad feed and there were not a "few random fans" calling. It was week two and CBS 6 was going to show the Minn/Indy game. Numerous calls and e-mails flooded the station and they switched to the Bills/Jax game. The change was made on either Thursday or Friday. GM from CBS-6 even acknowledged that he had made a mistake. This was quoted in the Gazette and Times Union and was even acknowledged on the CBS-6 website and on several of their newscasts. I will admit that it will be tougher to get the Syracuse station to switch to the Bills/SF game from Giants/Skins. GO BILLS!!!
  2. I disagree. It does work as evidenced by CBS 6 (Capital District market) earlier in the season. Numerous calls and e-mails flooded the station and they realized the error of their ways and switched the game to the Bills. If it doesn't work, see my last post. GO BILLS!
  3. I watched the Bills vs. KC last week on Justin.tv. The only problem was that the link was lost in the 4th quarter and I could not get it back. I am going to take the old fashion route this week and go to my favorite watering hole, which has all of the games on.
  4. You are correct with the exception of the first game against Seattle in which we had 5 sacks (Schoebel = 1). Remaining four games he played, team had a total of.....you guessed it 5 SACKS (Schoebel = 0). No question that the pass rush (with and without Schobel) is a major issue and needs to be addressed through free agency and draft. GO BILLS!
  5. I'm surprised they didn't have to call the paramedics after she had a coronary. If her husband had any b@!!$, he would have told her to sit down and shut her big fat yapper. Looking forward to seeing that picture. If it were me, I would use it for my avatar...... GO BILLS!
  6. I love how numerous posters were calling McKelvin a bust midway through the first season. Some a-holes were even calling him a punk, hood, and a word I personally hate, a retard. He will continue to develop and certainly will have highs and lows but for heaven's sake, give the guy a chance. He's a ROOKIE. And please, enough of the name calling. Thanks for bringing this post back up. GO BILLS!!!!
  7. I agree. All teams scout their opponents and set their game plans accordingly. They also throw in different formations, stunts, coverages and coverage shells to confuse their opponents. Trent's lips are not as loose as you might think.
  8. There were a few other receivers that I would have preferred over Hardy but hindsight is 20-20. I will say however, that I was not excited about picking him up in the draft. He has all of the physical intangibles to be an above average WR as a pro. What he appears to lack is HEART and PASSION. I agree with the other posters that it is far too early to render a verdict on this guy and hopefully with time, he develops. Many of us had the same opinions about Josh Reed who has been a pleasant surprise as of late.
  9. All of you folks ROCK!!! Makes me proud to be a Bills fan, especially when you hear about people driving many, many hours to see our team....regardless of record and past performance. Enjoy the game and have a shot for me with Kenny! GO BILLS!!!!
  10. Every dog has it's day....Bills 31 - Patsies 24 As they said in the movie Casino...."cheaters justice". Cassell goes out with a broken arm. You gotta Billeve..... GO BILLS!
  11. You have great seats! I usually sit in 107 in the third or fourth row. Have also sat in 108 and 109 in the first and second row. You are right next to all of the action and the players and people on the sidelines will not block your view. It is also a great place to give the players from the opposing team allot of ! Have fun and enjoy the game! GO BILLS!!!!
  12. NON-game balls go to: McGee (Playing 10-15 yds off Ginn just does not work). If he's hurt, keep him on the bench and play McKelvin. Coaching Staff - I would have went for the TD on 4th and goal in the 1st quarter. Also defensive play calling was terrible. The "wildcat" was effective and a marginal Miami offense rolled in the 3rd and 4th quarter. Jason Peters - He is still a piece of @&%$ IMO. I have not seen him play to the level he was at last year. Defense- Limited pressure on Pennington and pathetic tackling. Last but certainly not least, Robert Royal - this guy is a liability and should be riding the bench. Play Fine and Schouman.
  13. It is not that they love bad tight ends, they just do not prioritize the position in the draft or in FA. Royal should be riding the bench as he was one of the primary reasons why we lost this game. Now that Fine is healthy, you will see him and Schouman getting more playing time.
  14. Bring the NOISE!!!!! I was at the Oakland game sitting in section 107. The folks in the Rockpile were definitely up for the game. Great job!!!
  15. I believe that the Bills fan base in this area is extremely loyal to their team, regardless of record. You still saw people wearing Bills hats, shirts, etc. supporting their team even during the lean years. Same goes for Giants fans. However, Jets fans are a very different breed. When their team is playing well, you see more of them wearing their colors and at the bars supporting their teams, all the while shooting their mouths off. However, if they are playing poorly, you never see or hear from them so it can be hard to calculate their numbers. I still believe, although I do not have any factual data to back it up, that Bills and Jets fans are closer in number than many believe. Good discussion just the same. GO BILLS!
  16. Whoa, whoa, whoa Dean, I'm not complaining (read my first message). I do not mind going to watch the game at a bar, in fact I am looking forward to it. Having lived in the CD most of my life, I also have a pretty good handle on this area. I would agree that we are certainly located in the heart of Gints country. They have their summer camp at SUNY Albany and they are #1 in fan base in the CD. However, the Jests and Bills run a close #2 and #3. I am not just saying that because I am a Bills fan, I am basing that on my observations from living here for 30+ years. The Fox affiliate considers itself home to the Gints. However, I have never seen nor heard CBS-6 claim to be home of the Jests. In fact, in years past, they have typically carried the game of the team (Bills or Jests) who has the better record and during the Super Bowl years and several years after, carried all Bills games. I also think you are naive to compare the markets of Rochester with Albany which is like comparing apples to oranges. Rochester is not far from Buffalo and there are no other NFL teams that are even remotely close in proximity. CD has Buffalo 250 miles west, New England 165 miles east and New Jersey Gints and Jests 175 miles south. Just my humble opinion though. GO BILLS!
  17. The sign for the Patsies is on I-90 after crossing the NY/Mass line. Last saw it in August. Pretty good size sign that would look great mounted in one of the parking areas outside the Ralph....decorated with the appropriate asterisk of course. We have been lucky back this way. All of the Bills games have been televised with the exception of the Raider game but I got to see that one live. When they are not televised, I certainly do not mind going to our local tavern to watch the game with other Bills fans (including folks that have season tickets who we tailgate with). The atmosphere, though not quite the same experience as being at the Ralph live, is still allot of fun. I know there are also a decent number of Dolphin fans in the CD. Combine those people with Bills fans (who I agree probably rank #3 in popularity in this area) IMO outnumber Jest fans. Management at CBS-6 just does not get it. GO BILLS!!!
  18. Since CBS-6 in it's infinite wisdom is going to show the Jokers vs. Chefs game, a group of us are going to be heading to Peckham's Place in Scotia to watch the game. Even when Buffalo is televised, this place always draws a good contingent of Bills fans. GO BILLS - SQUISH THE F-ING FISH!!!
  19. Strike "Hopefully" out of the equation and just leave it "they'll win"..... Enjoy both games! Wanted to get up there myself to catch the Sabres and Bills, but it was not in the cards. Caps and Jets are going DOWN, DOWN, DOWN, DOWN!
  20. Way to go Sal, don't hold back. I was laughing my @ss off through most of the interview but the best part was when he just blurts out that "Troy Smith sucks". It definitely caught the other talking heads by surprise and there was just dead silence while Sal continued to ramble. Maybe they should require these guys to have a few hits of jungle juice before going on the air. Definitely makes for some interesting listening! GO BILLS - SQUISH THE F-ING FISH!!!!
  21. Definitely Kawika Mitchell on Defense Jon Corto on Special Teams and I would give two on offense...Trent Edwards (amazing performance) and "Fast" Freddy Jackson (made some solid running plays, was pushing linebackers and d-backs all over the field which culminated in the planting of Jammer on Lynch's TD run) GO 5-1 BILLS!!!
  22. I really could care less about the Wall St. Journal article and for that matter, the media as a whole. Most writers do little in the way of researching their subject and the jack that penned this story is no different. As many have said previously, I too have visited other stadiums. IMO, Oakland, Los Angeles (when Raiders played at the Coliseum) and New York (Jets) are far worse than Buffalo. There were several stabbings and one death at a Raiders/Green Bay game I attended in LA (GB fan got mouthy in the parking lot and got jacked and stabbed to death). Have never heard of any stabbings, shootings, muggings at the Ralph. A few fights now and then but overall, it is just people tailgating and having a good time. In the stadium, I have never had any issues with other Bills fans. It is usually the @$$ from fans visiting (especially when New England comes to town) where the issues occur. In the section where I sit, the season ticket holders around us sell most of their seats on e-bay, so you never know who is going to be sitting around you. On bringing kids, maybe to a pre-season game or seats in the family section.
  23. It sounds like TG did not want to play in another "small market" venue. I am speculating based upon what I have read but it appears that he was focused on the Giants. His input was a big part of getting the deal done and he was not meant to be a Buffalo Bill. His loss...now it's time to move on and focus on kicking some Charger !!! Forget an off-season trade for TG. Grab a solid prospect in the second round of the draft (Coffman, Beckum or Pettigrew). I would focus free agent money on a solid WR opposite Evans and maybe a second tier TE.
  24. Oh great, between all the other color commentators available, we get stuck with Dierdork.
