What Chargers and Chiefs will be Bills next year?
billsfreak replied to Nanker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think they will franchise Merriman, he was all but invisible this year, especially in the playoffs. He hasn't been the same since his injury, and maybe since being forced to get off the juice. With that said, we still couldn't get him for Lynch, who won't get us crap. He is a backup running back, who is declining already, and is one more Lynch like off season screw up from being suspended for an entire season. One Charger who will be available and I think it would be great to bring him in behind Jackson is LT. No way they bring him back to S.D. -

Tired of all the negativity.....
billsfreak replied to xsoldier54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For your information, I can read and very well, your post was as much whining as any other post that anyone else has posted on here. I too served my country in the Navy for almost 21 years, whatever that has to do with it, I wasn't questioning your character, unwillingness to serve your country, although it appears that you are still in the military mode telling people on this board what to do, when you have no authority over any of them. I don't even complain about everything, much less whine, if the Bills do something I agree with, I will be the first person on the board to say that I agree with the move whatever it might be. It is only a passion for the team that makes so many people upset about the way the team has been owned, run, managed, coached and played for over a decade. It is the American way to voice your opinion, and if I must, because of people like yourself and myself, along with hundreds of thousands of other Americans who have proudly served this great country we live in, we have the right to speak our mind-it is a free country. -
Bills Hire Curtis Modkins as Offensive Coordinator
billsfreak replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, I know they said Gailey is prone to hiring unknowns, but is he the only one who has heard of this guy? Hope Jackie Chan Gailey knows more than anyone else does. But hey, I forgot Chan Gailey was alive too until a few days ago. -
Tired of all the negativity.....

1. I don't believe any Bills fans on this board "Hates the organization" but they/we do hate the way it has been run over the past decade and the lack of effort to make it a winning team once again, like the fans in Western New York and all across this great country deserve. 2. I unlike you haven't been around since the early 1960's but I have been around since the early 1970's, so I feel I have earned the freedom to express my disgust and disappointment with the way the team that I have loved since my childhood has been turned into the NFL's biggest joke, a team that so many don't want anything to do with. 3. You tell people to find another team, why don't you find another board to read? People are free to post what they want to on here as long as they stay within the board moderators guidelines (no profanity, etc.) 4. Have you ever heard the saying "The Squeaky Wheel gets the Oil"? Kinda true with this team too. If the fans don't express their lack of satisfaction or disgust with the current situation, things will never change (they still might not but it helps). If it wasn't for the fanbase and media being so vocal, I believe Jauron would have been around to the end of the season, and probably around headed into the 2010 season. Do you really think Ralph would have fired him all on his own and took on an additional salary? DJ is still getting paid by Ralphie (unless he tries to get out of it like he did with Wade Phillips). 5. Tell the Patriots, Cowboys, Eagles, Steelers, Ravens, etc. etc., fanbases that going 10 years without making the playoffs, hiring 5 coaches in 10 years, having one less home game than any other team in the NFL because your tightwad senile owner sold one to the country north of you to put some more milliions in his pocket that he won't spend on making the team better, and being a joke around the country is just to quote you "all part of living and breathing with your team" and see if they sit back and say all is great and smile and enjoy being angry after 9 out of every 10 games that you watch of the team you give your heart and soul for, not to mention a good portion of your bank account to on tickets, memorabilia, clothes etc. 6. So I guess what I am saying anyone who wants to come on this board and vent their frustrations has all the right to do that as you do in coming on here and saying that you love the way things are being run and don' t like people talking negative about the Bills. -
Bruce Smith & Andre Reed comment on Gailey, franchise
billsfreak replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One of Andre Reed'a quotes from that article make him sound like 95% of us fans that never played for them. "I was very surprised by the hiring, I'm not going to lie to you,” said former Bills receiver Andre Reed, who is playing in the Bob Hope Classic this week. “His record isn't great, but it isn't bad as a head coach in the league. Let's face it, Buffalo is in disarray all the way from the top to the bottom.” -
McNabb might not be what he was a few years ago, but if he came to Buffalo for next season, he would be without a sliver of a doubt, the best QB the Bills have had since Jim Kelly retired after the 1996 season-that is 13 seasons if my math is correct. The Bills are the joke of the league right now, just read the national media, and if they wasted a pick on Tebow, unless it was the 5th or 6th round, they would be an even bigger joke. Tebow isn't even going to be a quarterback in the NFL, if he plays at all in the league it will be as a running back or receiver, or most likely as a special teams player. If the Bills use thier top pick on a QB, it needs to be one who will actually be able to play QB in the league, prefereable Clausen, but even Bradford if he is available.

Every NFL team has hope, but it's hard to believe in
billsfreak replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We could have gotten two of those games just by Leodis McFumble and Roscoe "Fair Catch" Parrish hanging on to the ball. Now, Gailey only has to find one more win. Playoffs here we come. -
qualified candidates to replace John Guy
billsfreak replied to RocBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What did he actually do that needs to be replaced? I say let Nix either succeed or fall on his sword and let him run the ship. Seems like the majority of successful teams have one person in charge not an entire army of people with important sounding titles, who know little about running a football team. -
I agree, alot in common. Two Hall of Fame owners, inducted based on what they did decades ago and now are the butt of constant jokes as are their respective organizations. Both owners should be forced into selling their teams to owners that still have a heartbeat and don't want to take every penny of their millions to the grave.

What did everyone take out of the New Conference
billsfreak replied to billsfreak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably calls from his kids, grandkids, Dick Jauron, Rich Kotite. -
Last season when season ticket sales were low, they brought in T.O. and it pretty much took care of that issue, and 2009 became one of the better ticket sales years ever. With the fanbase in such a disappointing position when it comes to the Bills now, it seems almost a must for Ralph and the boys in the FO to make some type of move to help sell tickets, as the recent coach hiring won't do it. I am not saying that it is what I want, but if I had to guess one big name that they will bring in this year to sell tickets, I would guess Michael Vick. Gailey has a history of working with athletic type quarterbacks, vice immobile pocket passers. Other possibilites might be Calvin Johnson (whom I believe Gailey recruited at Georgia Tech), Brandon Marshall, or maybe LT? What are some other guesses of who they might bring in to make a splash this off season?

I think that you are the moron, do you know what "On a lighter note" means? Means I was joking, but obviously being the moron that you are, you obviously wouldn't have known that. -

No offense, but I wasn't reading into anything, I was replying to another posters comments with regards to my original post. Maybe you aren't reading enough into things or the entire thread before you are posting. I would love to find something positive to post about, and I will as soon as something positive happens. -

billsfreak replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What have Gailey and Nix accomplished as Head Coach and GM respectively that makes you so sure it is a obvious upgrade, that everyone can see. When the Bills hired Jauron he was only a couple season removed from being names coach of the year for the entire NFL. Gailey is coming off being fired by the Chiefs in preseason, because they knew he was going to suck. Nix has never even been a GM, so he doesn't have a resume to compare anything to. Not saying it might not turn out to be an upgrade, but only time will tell, it isn't the everyone can see, obvious upgrade that you make it out to be. -
Not sure what other team would pick up that big contract that the Chiefs gave Cassel, especially now that we all know that it was the New England system that let him go 11-5 as a starter. He was on the cusp of getting benched for the majority of the second half of the 2009 season.

Notre Dame had a BCS quality offense without a doubt, but you are correct, their defense couldn't have stopped Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Bills dismal offense.
-
As of last weekend, I think he had him as the #3 overall, but a team that doesn't need a QB isn't going to take one. If this could actually develop and they get Clausen, the Bills Nation might have a reason to be optimistic down the road, for the first time since Moby Dick was Minnow.
