Every NFL team has hope, but it's hard to believe in
billsfreak replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is that guy a Bills fan? He sure sounds like he is familiar with the situation here at OBD. In my opinion, he is pretty spot on with his article, and I don't do too much tequila anymore, so I am not believing the winning with no stars BS. -
What did everyone take out of the New Conference
billsfreak replied to billsfreak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. I didn't say there was anything wrong with defending the organization, I was just pointing out that he came out defensive before anyone even said anything. Normally these type of press conferences are announced with a sense of excitement and hope. 2. If you really believe that 15 qualified people called every day for 5 or 6 weeks and wanted interviews, yet everyone anyone ever heard of beside Gailey turned down the opportunity, you are quite gullible yourself. 3. When did the Bills ever flirt with the Playoffs while Jauron was here? You might be thinking about when he was in Chicago. 4. You call me unintelligent for referring to their accents, and if you would have read the post, I started that line with "On a lighter side" which for intelligent people means it is in a jokingly nature, so maybe I am not the one who is unintellegent? Got a mirror? I have never said people from down south aren't intelligent or don't know football, some of them are the most successful coaches in recent years. I am as much of a Bills fan as anyone on this board, having been so for nearly 40 years. Just because I look at things in the real world, and not in a fantasy that everything they do is the right thing because I am a fan, only means that after the last decade of disaster, that I am in the majority of fans. I want the Bills to win as much as anyone else, but I am not buying into a move like this until they give me a reason to buy into it. I have bought into too many terrible moves over the past decade, as have thousands of Bills fans, and we are all fed up with being taken for a ride and coming out empty handed. -

You have to start somewhere. Hiding will never stop the criticism. -
What did everyone take out of the New Conference
billsfreak replied to billsfreak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If they were there it might have sent the message that "We support this move and agree with it and are really trying to make this team a winner." Instead the message was "We know that nobody is going to like this signing, and we are scared of the criticism so we are going hide and avoid it." -

A few things that I noticed that were kinda strange from the news conference the other day announcing the hiring of Chan Gailey. 1. I noticed right away that Nix, as soon as he started speaking was in a defensive mode. He was defending himself and the organization before anyone even asked him any questions. 2. Where were Ralphie Boy and Brandon. My guess is they were afraid of the criticism of their inability to run an organization successfully, and their super ability to run an organization into being the joke of the league, that they were afraid to show up. 3. 15 phone calls a day wanting an interview? Please. And none of those rumors of people declining interview offerings were true. Does he really think Bills fans are as dumb as we look sometimes following this team? 4. Has Nix looked at the lack of success of this organization over the past decade? How can he call out any other NFL team (Raiders) in a negative way when he should know that it is going to be broadcast on ESPN and NFL Network at a minimum? 5. As I was watching it,, it appeared to me that they could broadcast it at 11:30 on NBC on saturday nights withouth editing, it might be the funniest skit on Saturday Night Live. 6. On a lighter note, is that the most rednecks ever assembled at One Bills Drive? Chan Gailey might be an offspring of Ralphie, the ears are quite similar.

Anyone Else Just Feeling Numb about this Hiring?
billsfreak replied to Beerstm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just more of the same BS. No shock, no surprise, just a sickening feeling in your stomach. Any realist new all along that no big name coach was going to pull the money or promises of spending money from Ralph's rusted shut wallet, but we continue to have hope, only to be slammed to the wall once again. -
Jim Kelly - thoughts on this hire
billsfreak replied to VABills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Big difference between Jim Kelly and John Riggins. Back to his rookie year, Riggins was never all there and has always walked to a beat of his own. For the sake of being a Kelly fan, don't compare these two HOFers when it comes to behavior or personality. -
Jim Kelly - thoughts on this hire
billsfreak replied to VABills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Kelly is drawing any type of paycheck from the Bills, expect him to back the babling, meddling tightwad owner on this disastrous hire. -
Its official Chan is the coach

It's official, things will never get better around here. -
Is Gailey a step down from Cowher
billsfreak replied to GrudginglyPessimistic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am not even a big Cowher fan, but Gailey is alot more than a step down from Cowher, he is about 12 floors down from Cowher, or Billick, or Shanahan and maybe even a step down from Jauron. -
Are you happy with Chan Gailey as our HC?
billsfreak replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea it makes alot of sense if you are Ralph and have screwed up the organization to the point that no coach with a chance of turning this mess around will even consider coming here. -
Not to mention the best GM in the business in Polian. No coach can win without the players to do it. Some coaches can make above average players/teams great, no coach can make a terrible team good.

Good Comparison By Tim Graham

You know what really pissses me off? That is so true, so funny and so sad at the same time. Great comparison. Help us Please! -
Now that the organization has direction & purpose again
billsfreak replied to RayFinkle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What gives you the fantasy that the Bills have direction & purpose again? It sure wouldn't be the hiring of Chan Gailey. They might have been better off hiring Jackie Chan. -
After 35 years of being a Bills fan

It isn't a start of futility, just a continuation of the proud tradition of futility at One Bills Drive. -
The Earliest Season Record Predictions
billsfreak replied to bills in va's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No team that he has been with anywhere as a head coach has improved under his guidance. The second year with Dallas he dropped the team to 8-8 and backed in to the playoffs because the NFC sucked that year. -
After 35 years of being a Bills fan
billsfreak replied to Rayzer32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well said dude. My feelings exactly. I didn't think it could get worse than it has been over the past decade, but it is rock bottom now. I like you and many thousands of other, decades long diehard Bills fans, are finding it very difficult to give a crap now. For all my adult life and the majority of my youth, the Bills have been a huge part of my life, my house is a shrine to Jim Kelly and the Buffalo Bills. I have made the trip from Virginia to New York every summer for over a decade just to attend training camp. I can't take this lack of effort to win, being a joke in the eyes of the rest of the NFL. I know you get posts from other people on the board who will say "Don't let the door hit you on the way out", but you know what, you clueless, prideless individuals who want to stay on that side of the door and give your hard earned money to Ralph, so he in no way whatsoever uses that money to put a winner on the field or a "Real Coach" on the sidelines, you go for it. -

3-13 and one step closer to moving out of Buffalo. 10-6, with what talent? what QB? What coaching staff? WTF? -
What will make you renew the NFL Sunday ticket next year
billsfreak replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because I am a relocated Western New Yorker in Virginia (military) I have had Sunday Ticket for about 7 or 8 seasons (even switched from cable to DirecTV just to get it). I have told myself that I am not getting it unless the Bills make some major moves and hiring Chan Gailey isn't one of those. The move of hiring him, confirms that I will not be renewing next season. Anything short of bringing in Peyton Manning, Brett Favre or a qualified NFL quarterback, since they are bringing in crap for a head coach, I will see the Bills if they are on national TV, which after this past season, and their reputation as the biggest joke in the NFL, won't be too often in the coming years. -
Help me find a new team
billsfreak replied to Formerly BF_in_Indiana's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There should be some clause against people inventing 3 strikes and your out rules unless you are a baseball umpire. This is a forum, where within rules people can discuss what they want to. Strike one against you for a retarded post. The guy that started this thread isn't the only one around here who is wondering if they want to continue to to give their heart and soul to an organization that can't get anything right and is the biggest joke in the entire NFL. -
Who will want to come here? Anyone who can't get a job somewhere else, kinda like Gailey. We are going to suck forever.

I can't friggin believe that after Ralphy talks the talk, then he walks the walk with more of the same crap with Chan Gailey? He has been more of a bust as a head coach in two different places than Dick Jauron could have ever been. This may finally be it, after almost 40 years of following the Bills, to get this crap from Ralph, I may just quit following the team, as much as it would break my heart. Ralph needs to go, I wish the other owners could force him to sell, otherwise nothing will ever change at OBD. This fricking sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ralph Sucks if Gailey is the HC. He does his HC shopping at the Dollar Store. God Help Us
