Unless Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Seattle and a few others are right behind us, you can't blame it on the weather. People on this board try to blame everything negative about the Bills on the weather, no coach wants to come here because of the weather, no free agents want to come here because of the weather. Come on Please, in the NFL two things matter to players for the most part, Money and Winning and they can't get much of either here-that is why players don't want to come here.

Not surprising, look at the past decade. Now have them interview coaching candidates and we might even beat the Raiders for the worst place to coach after going thru the past two months.

Cortez as QB coach, possibility of Garcia as QB?
billsfreak replied to Red's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was only on the Eagles roster for the first couple weeks of the season until Vick suspension was over. After that he was out of football. -

I think people will be disappointed when Brohm doesn't make the squad. -
That is because, just like Cowboys fans, alot of them couldn't tell you what state that team is from, much less be from that area or having ever visited there. Bandwagon fans are some of the most obnoxious, but then again when you haven't went through the hard times with a team, and just jumped onboard when they are winning, it is easy to be obnoxious buttholes.

Who is the GREATEST Bill of All-Time ??
billsfreak replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Emmitt Smith might have the most yards ever, but no way is he higher on a list then O.J., Walter Payton or Jim Brown. Me personally, I would probably give the nod to Walter Payton slightly over O.J. as the best back ever. Outside of 1985, which was at the end of Walter's career, he pretty much played on mediocre at best teams, with no passing game and he still tore up defenses like O.J. did. Without looking it up, can anyone name a QB that Payton had before McMahon? I didn't think so. Joe Fergy was better than anything Payton ever had, as was Bobby Chandler, Jerry Butler, Frank Lewis were probably all better than any receiver the Bears had until the very end of Payton's career, and maybe even then. -
Julius Peppers.....about to become an UFA
billsfreak replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I doubt Raphie would pay what it is going to take to sign Peppers, especially since the more glaring needs are on offense, but it would be awesome to have him in Buffalo. Him on one side and Schobel on the other side. If I am not mistaken, because 2010 will be an uncapped year, there is no cap hit against them. -
If Chan Gailey wants Vick, my guess is they won't have to give up any pick. Philly isn't going to pick up the multi-million dollar option on him, so he will be a free agent. If they trade for him, they would have to pick up that option I am assuming, so waiting and signing him as a free agent might even be a little cheaper.

Who is the GREATEST Bill of All-Time ??

If anyone would have had more sacks back then when they didn't keep track of them it would have been Deacon Jones, the man who created the phrase "sack." -

Did you have to throw that in? The lowest point of his great career if I am not mistaken, he only played in that amount of games because of a drug suspension. I might be wrong and I am sure if I am I will be corrected on this board. -
Who is the GREATEST Bill of All-Time ??

Although I do think O.J. was slightly better than Barry Sanders, I never even referred to Sanders, this post was just a reply to the fact that everyone knew O.J. was getting the ball pretty much every play and they still couldn't stop him. This post was about the best Bills players ever, not players period. But, while you mention it, if I recall and my memory isn't perfect, I believe Herman Moore had a couple huge seasons receiving, something the O.J. Bills never had. -

I agree, Fergie only attempted a little more than 100 pass attempts the whole season, O.J. was the whole offense, the defense knew it, and he still had the best season any running back has ever had, and probably ever will have. -
I hate the Cowboys as much as a pimple on my butt that won't go away, but I will trade our senile tight wad owner for the scumbag owner any day of the week.

The most obvious one is Moorman, best punter in Bills history. Others in my opinion, and there wouldn't be many who would start would be: Lee Evans (would be a perennial Pro Bowler with Jim Kelly throwing and Kent Hull and Company blocking). The Terrence McGee of 3 or 4 years ago could have been a better Kick Off returner than they had back then. I guess the more that I think of it, I can't think of anymore that would even have a chance to start-guess it corresponds with the winning records of nowadays compared to the early 90's.

If that was the case, this proud franchise ended years ago.

The only way that would work is if they turn the Bills offense into the West Coast offense. The only time he played with a normal offense it was a terrible failure in Cleveland. Plus, with a year off and at his age, probably would be a disaster waiting to happen. -

1. O. J. Simpson-gained 2003 yards when everyone in the stadium knew he was getting the ball. 2. Jim Kelly-Combined talent, leadership and toughness that has rarely been seen in this league. 3. Bruce Smith-Top 3 all time at his position. 4. Thurman Thomas-One of the top all around backs ever 5. Kent Hull-quarterbacked the O-Line during Super Bowl run. 6. Steve Tasker-best Special Teams player in NFL history 7. Andre Reed-Top 10 receiver all time-clutch player and tough over the middle 8. Darryl Talley-Heart and soul of the defense during Super Bowl years-most underrated Bill ever! 9. Phil Hanson-second most underrated player ever-Bruce got attention and benefitted from Hansen being on other end 10. Fred Smerlas-best Nose Tackle of the 80's. I am sure there were some great players in the 1960's but I am not old enough to remember them, only based on video and what I have read. -
Anybody consider Kellen Clemens?
billsfreak replied to muddy waters's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No! There is a reason why the Jets moved up to draft another quarterback when they had him on their roster. He has pretty much sucked the majority of the time that he has played. -
Anyone know what we are paying Chan?
billsfreak replied to 95altima12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So Ralph isn't cheap because he is paying $6 million on coaches this year? Not cheap, but stupid, who was the genius that extended DJ when everyone else knew it wasn't going to work out. It is his fault and nobody else's that he is paying two coaches at the same time. Beside, selling out one of our home games to Toronto, and giving us a disadvantage that no other NFL team has, gives him the money to pay for both coaches and he gets change back, just like McDonald's. -
Gregg Williams talking like the idiot he is
billsfreak replied to Rayzer32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The couple that were even close were flagged. It is called football-a contact sport. Live with it. If it was the Bills pounding Favre all day like that and taking advantage of their avalanche of mistakes, it would be just fine with you I am sure. -

billsfreak replied to 95altima12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No where near as much as one of the coaches desired by the majority of the fanbase, which is why he is here. It is all about Ralph's wallet. He tries to blow smoke up our butts with "it's all about winning" crap, but any sober person with common sense knows the real truth. This organization is doomed until Ralph is no longer around. -
I don't see why someone like Scott Player (who ever that was) even wore one, it was below his chin and served no purpose other than to meet league rules of wearing one. My guess is Owen Wilson wore one in high school, maybe that is why his nose looks like it has been broken a dozen times.
