Josh Reed doesn't put up the big numbers, but he isn't given the chances either. He is however, over the last few years, the most clutch reciever the Bills have had, making more key first down receptions than anyone. Last years most overrated player in is Philly now, and this years hasn't played the last two games because he stubbed his toe.

Is the Offensive Line Weak? That might be the understatement of the century.

Is it time to think about looking for a new QB
billsfreak replied to flomoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have come to the conclusion that his organization is about as good as it is ever going to be. They haven't drafted a successful quarterback since Before Bill Polian was here. They have wasted several draft picks trading for the QB of the Future, with no luck at all. We haven't had a competent Head Coach since Wade Phillips was here. We have drafted several running backs high in the draft, none of them have stayed here more than 3 or 4 years. The only thing we have excelled at over the last decade is Special Teams, those are about the only player we can draft right are the lower rounders that perform on ST's. Everyone is paying so much attention to how good Trent Edwards is playing this preseason, he hasn't been great, but he has been running for his life everytime he gets the ball. Our O-Line is going to get him killed, another area this organization has failed to pay attention to. I am a life long Bills fan, and as you can tell by this post, frustrated as all get out. I look at it this way, GM's change, Coaches Change, players change, and no change in results-what is the only thing that hasn't changed? Our HOF Owner, maybe he has lost touch with todays game. -
Um, how about starting Fitzpatrick?
billsfreak replied to SuperBills12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You would be correct if we had anything resembling a competent backup, but we don't. Edwards has been dissappointing for the most part, but even at his worst he is better than Fitzpatrick at his best, and Hamden will never be anything but a #3 at best. They really need someone mobile, because with the terrible O-Line have, we will go through a whole string of QBs this year. -
Um, how about starting Fitzpatrick?
billsfreak replied to SuperBills12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Starting Fitzpatrick would be like playing for a top draft pick next April, he is no starter. It really doesn't matter who starts the season anyway, our offensive line is so bad, it is only a matter of time before Edwards is hurt again and Noodle Arm gets a chance to play. Like myself and many others have been saying for 6 plus months we are in the bottom 2 or 3 in the entire NFL with our Offensive Line and not much higher, if at all, with our QB depth, both are pathetic. If this weekends game in Green Bay is any indicator at all, we are in for another long, dissapointing season at OBD, but then again, we should be used to it. Our first teams all around looked terrible, especially the O-Line, they were being pushed back from the opening whistle until they left the field. -
Who will be the Bill's starting QB in 2010?
billsfreak replied to trock12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who will be the Bill's starting QB in 2010? Nobody on the face of this earth can answer that, 2009 hasn't even started yet-or are you just skipping past 2009 and giving up already? Another nomination for useless thread. Now if you said who thinks TE will make it through all 16 games, that would be one thing, and he probably won't. If he doesn't we are done, Noodle Arm Fitzpatrick is going to be the Bills nail in their coffin, he is terrible. -
Chris Ellis Working Hard For A Roster Spot.
billsfreak replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So what has Ellis done or not done to make you think he sucks? I am like others, I am tired of watching Kelsay and even more so Denney and their below mediocre play every year. Who know what we will get from Schobel as he gets older and tries to recover from injury. From everything I have read, Ellis has had a pretty good camp. If he is a fraction of the last guy we drafted out of Virginia Tech, he will do pretty good. Just can't understand someone hating someone or saying they suck when they have nothing at all to base it on. -
I don't mind some celebration that is performed unplanned and with the attitude that we as a team did something positive, or what I did just put my team in the position to score, etc. But, what OCHO STINKO does is so sickening, his antics are all for the purpose of "Look at Me, I don't care if we are losing by 4 scores, Just Look at Me!". If there is the equivalent of a terminal illness in the NFL, it is OHCO SUCKO. That A*shole plans pranks and does them despite his owner, his coaches and the NFL telling him not too, as if he doesn't have to listen to anyone, despite them paying him millions of dollars. He is the biggest example of what is wrong with the NFL. But as far as celebrating, within reason, the Bills could use some excitement, since over the last decade or so, exciting moments have been too far and few between.

Any organization would trade a #2 and someone like Parrish, but it is going to cost way more than that to get him, and the price is too much for a player who is on the borderline of a long suspension, with one more screw up. The Cowboys gave up a #1, #3 and #6 for Roy Williams and the word is it is going to cost that much and maybe more to get Marshall out of Denver. Therefore, a useless post.

Have you watched an NFL game over the past decade or more? Almost everytime someone makes a tackle, gets a sack, catches a ball, etc. they act like they just won the Super Bowl. It is the age of the "Me" millionaire athletes who put team second for the most part, who want to get themselves noticed, first and foremost. I don't like it but I have become immune to it, because it isn't going to change.

Does anyone else think we're thin at backup G/C?
billsfreak replied to ans4e64's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When you have one of the worst two or three Offensive Lines in the NFL, of course you are thin at backup? -
cold dose of reality re the Bills O-line
billsfreak replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you must make a ranking at this point, than I can't do anything but agree with their rankings. We don't have a single Offensive Lineman in the same position as last year and that is a big risk no matter how you look at it. -
The Broncos didn't "Get" hosed, if anything they Hosed themselves. They were the ones that decided to trade their franchise quarterback because he whined and bitched. They set a precedence and now they are dealing with Brandon Marshall who is trying to do the same thing. They only have themselves to blame for replacing one of the top 6 or 7 QBs in the NFL with one of the worst ever.

How will Billicheck stop the no huddle?
billsfreak replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
By pass rushing and blitzing on one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL. It doesn't matter how good Edwards is, or how good his receivers are, if Edwards is face down on the turf, the No Huddle won't go far. -
Do you have a clue? Receivers of his height and potential don't come along everyday. You might not see much of him this season, but Owens will be gone after this year and that position will most likely be his. I give a vote myself that it might be the worst post of the year.
-
Not only did he win a Superbowl, the only reason he wasn't the MVP was because his QB's name was Peyton Manning, he clearly was the best player in that game.

Myself and a few others, who have been jumped on continously for saying so, have been stating how bad the Bill's QB depth is for months. Having watched the HOF game, it is even more clear how terrible Noodle Arm Fitz is, and Hamden is a nice #3 maybe, but nothing more. That will turn out to be one of the biggest mistakes for this young talented team is not addressing the QB depth more than giving Fitz all that money and signing him minutes into free agency.

Kawika Mitchell comments on...
billsfreak replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
These spoiled millionaires probably only think that training camp food sucks because once the season starts they get fed like kings, food that most of us could imagine eating everyday. Feed me steak everyday for 6 months than start feeding me slop and I might tweet about it too. I wonder if the cooks get the $2500 dollars that he was fined? I guess it must have hurt their feelings. -
My prediction is that Burress will never play in the NFL again. After he sits out this year, then sits in jail for anywhere from 2-who knows how many seasons, he will have been out of the league for at least half a decade, and he will be an afterthought.

I am down in Virginia and planning on making a trip up to Buffalo next week. The availability of tickets for the 11 August night practice just listed today on Buffalobills.com, now they are sold out already. Does anyone have any extra tickets? I (or my sister who still lives up there) would be willing to drive to pick them up. I can't overstate how important and appreciated this would be. I have been in Virginia since I retired from the Navy and make the trek up home every summer for camp, but it seems the last year or two the process of getting tickets hasn't quite been as easy as it used to be-my guess is with the change in sponsors. If anyone can help, you would be my new hero! Thanks.

They have been talking alot about Burress down here in Virginia Beach where he is from, and you are absolutely correct, it was Burress himself that didn't want the two year deal, not his lawyer. They said Burress was terrified about going to prison at all, so I guess he better be really scared now. As far as the title of this post, you are correct, Burress is screwed, but by himself and nobody else. He has been a flippin idiot since high school, through college and the pros, which is why Pittsburgh wanted nothing else to do with him, despite his obvious talent.

In my experience both in working with Bruce Smith here in Virginia Beach at his Charity Golf Classic as well as going to both Marv Levy's and Jim Kelly's inductions, your best bet with Bruce is to pay for the package and get all of the new inductees. You might catch him at the hotel (there is only one in town) if he is in the right mood, which is seldom with him. We hung out at the hotel and got several Hall of Famers autos, but some completely avoided you too. If they still have it, the NFL Experience that is set up next to the Hall of Fame had free signings scheduled each day, during Kelly's they had Andre, Thurman, Tasker, Beebe, Hull, Chris Mohr, and a bunch of other Bills as well as players from the other inductees teams. They do sell auto packages where Hall of Famers sign in groups, and one of them is always the new class of inductees. Just keep you eyes open and you will see former Bills all over the place that weekend. We were just hanging out in the grass next to the stadium and turned around and Metzelaars was standing right next to us. Billy Shaw is always there too-and always in a great mood, what a classy guy.
