  1. Don't take this the wrong way bufcomments, but didn't you boast back in June about how you bought all the games on eBay "for cheap"? Did you end up paying more money than you got for the games?
  2. Wait so a guy that is lecturing about morality is now telling us how proud he is squeezing pennies out of cheap labor from Foxconn. Do tell more...
  3. I think his answer to "What's the coolest thing that's happened to you since being in the NFL?" says it all: "I get to play football, and that's all I get to do; just focus on playing football and nothing else." Not sure how anything this kid says is painful or tough to watch. He's everything you want in a football player; he's grounded and humble, and he's not flashy or me first and doesn't give anything away to an opponent. I think that's pretty remarkable for a rookie. What I find amazing is that he's actually getting consistent airplay. This interview wasn't really much different than the one he gave Jim Rome (ie kiko twitter hashtag is "ridiculous"). We all know the media loves to give attention to guys that are the complete opposite to everything I covered in the sentence above. I think that's a testament to his impact on the field this year. We got a good one here. Hopefully we pony up when its time.
  4. "Lamonica continued, “There were no agents back then. I got to talk to both Ralph Wilson Junior and Senior the night before I was traded. Mr. Wilson Sr. said, ‘You will be our starting quarterback coming back this year.’" I never knew Ralph's father was involved with the Bills. You learn something new everyday.
  5. So because he doesn't shout out to his work friends on twitter, we can jump to the conclusion that he has no friends? What I saw was a guy that was very vocal with his teammates and vocal (but respectful) with the referees. This blew me away, because watching at the stadium and hearing him in interviews, I (wrongly) assumed he was a quite guy on and off the field that would like to let his play do the talking for him. Who knows, you may be right that he has no work friends (off of a small sample that is twitter), but why do bills fans always have to jump to negative conclusions?
  6. God, Peter King is the absolute worst. Refer to KSK Fun with Peter King if you're baffled by the comment.
  7. Sounds like he was speaking with an intensity that shows right after playing balls to the wall for 60 minutes. Sullivan mentioned that he was shy in his post game, a complete 180 from how he plays. You know Grumblelord would surely let us know if he thought Kiko was talking down to the our wise local media types.
  8. I'll try and answer. I seem to remember Jason Giambi seemed to have a weird injury on the Yanks in 2007 (maybe?) that commentators were speculating might have been attributed to steroids. I can't recall what the specific injury was and google hasn't been much help. I'd say a lot of these "dangers" we heard associated with steroids in the past could probably be more attributed (in my humble completely uneducated opinion) to guys self medicating, rather than the drugs themselves. Anything that you're putting in your body that could be considered a controlled substance is prescribed by medical professionals for a reason. The fact that most of the "cheaters" these days are now using "designer" steroids prescribed by doctors in what you might term controlled environments makes me wonder if this stuff is pretty safe these days. It's obviously safer, but who knows how much?
  9. Are you serious with this title??! EDIT: I hate the PC police myself, but I'm a little suprised the mods haven't done something about this.
  10. This is probably overblown because of the NY media. I think he meant "I don't need to study the guy because I'm not throwing to him, period." Maybe he was tired, maybe he was annoyed with the line of questioning, I dont know, I havent seen the transcript or tape. Does anyone actually think he didn't study Revis at all? He obviously picked a very poor choice of words to use here because (A) the media went nuts with it (B) this will be huge bulletin board material for Tampa and © if/when Revis gets a pick on Sunday this is all everyone is going to talk about in the post game presser. The kid is a rookie and New York is a lot different than Morgantown. He'll have to learn real quick this garbage can't come out of his mouth or he's gone. Compounded with the fact (right or wrong) he's had this "bad attitude" it doesn't look good. I think we can all agree the real person to blame is Jay-Z. Where's the PR prep Hov???!!
  11. I've been meaning to mention this and it looks like a good enough place if there is one. The NFL will be broadcasting gamepass in the Netherlands for free this year, provided they don't change their policies before the season. Apparently they've done this in a few European countries the past few years that dont have a big NFL following yet to get interest up before finding a distributer to charge big bucks. I have watched a few preseason games this way this year and I don't have any complaints yet. Probably watch a few more during the regular season when I'm too lazy to head out to the bar. EDIT: Let me add, there are always perfectly legal ways to get an IP address from the NL (or any other country for that matter)... VPN and such
  12. You guys realize Easterbrook is a Buffalo native and unabashed Bills fan right? The article may be off base and skewed to prove his point that Buddy was a "bumbler" but this wasn't a ESPN drive by Buffalo piece.
  13. I was just going to post this. He did run to the back of the end zone and faced the fans when he spun the ball. Unless it was a really poor angle, I didn't see any defenders around, thank god. However, he did start "pointing" at the ball, which the NFL could stupidly construe as "shooting" the ball. We all know the NFL's borderline fascist no-tolerance for gun-like celebrations (ie see Stevie at the NE game a few years back with the the Minutemen as well as the Plax celebration stunt). Considering Marrone had no issues dressing down Da'Rick earlier in the offseason for "taunting," its quite possible Marrone and Co. did not take Da'Rick's celebration lightly. It's too bad they didn't pan to the sideline after the play. I could be wrong but I did not see him play another down after that - he certainly didn't get any looks, which is interesting considering how bad-ass the TD was. I personally didn't have any problem with either part of his celebration and I don't recall Marrone discussing his thoughts on celebrations yet in his tenure. We're all just fans (so what the hell do we know?!) but I'd be interested to see if the media looks into this the next couple days. Here's the (awesome) TD and subsequent celebration. Decide for yourself.
  14. On Gus Bradley: But hey, you might as well give him time. It's not like you northern Floridians have anything to do for the next 17 years anyway. Just go out, do some meth, get caught trying to bang your neighbor's ferret, go to prison, and come back in a couple years to see if Bradley's made any progress. At the very least, Gabbert will have been euthanized by then. Gotta love Drew!
  15. I think a lot of you probably read the story on the Atlantic a few years back, but if not I encourage you to do so. It was an eye opener to me. The first executive director of the NCAA coined the phrase "student athlete" for the sole purpose of avoiding workman's comp cases. Not for the idea of academics over athletics, or the glory of amateurism. Nope. Worker's compensation cases. He was also the first to coin the phrase "Plantation" when referring to big-time college athletics. The fact that this same executive director wrote a book later in life called "Unsportsmanlike Conduct" railing on the system put he helped put in place should really raise eyebrows. http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2011/10/the-shame-of-college-sports/308643/?single_page=true
  16. Peter King is such a blowhard. LOOK, I'M NOT COMPARING HIM TO RYAN LEAF, BUT HE'S RYAN LEAF! I'm sick of this fat hump and his squishy, hedging, half-truth statements. And who the hell gets a four week vacation anyways? Suck it PK.
  17. Something tells me this whole situation wasn't worth 785K
  18. Is it just me, or does Robert Woods (6'0") look more than 2 inches shorter than Matt Barkley (6'2")? Maybe its just the camera angle. EDIT: When he's standing next to EJ (6'5"), he looks a hell of a lot taller than 6'0'. I'll shut up now.
  19. Is that a demotion for him as well? I linked the Bills Front Office Chart, it looks like he's keeping his title. I wonder if it was a mutual decision like Buddy "I'm old, taking a step back" type of thing or if it was a demand. While both of them were hired by Buddy, they reported directly to Whaley, so I'd imagine he had a say in their hiring. It'll be interesting to see if him and Cook leave the organization soon. http://www.buffalobills.com/about-us/front-office.html

  21. Mrags, thanks for the inside info. This was an interesting tidbit, especially the news that Brandon is pushing the NFL for more primetime, while the NFL pushes back. I really always thought conventional wisdom was Ralph hated night games because of the travel/work the next day burden on folks from Rochester and beyond. Regarding stadium arrests/buffoonery, I'd speculate the Ralph to be close to the top, if not the chief offender on any list. Thats probably a given. All the other stadiums combined? It's possible, but I'd speculate off the top of my head that may be an exaggeration. Still appreciate the inside scoop though. You mentioned there's other stories that for whatever reason you wouldn't want to share. Since this one collected four pages, I'd imagine I'm not the only one interested. Keep em coming.
  22. Not sure how that was a complaint or a rant, but thanks for the over-reaction. I know context is hard over the computer screen but I was mostly joking, and admitted I over-exaggerated. All I was attempting to say was I'm happy the Bills seem to finally have somebody pushing primetime. The more exposure the better, even if we might crap the bed during the game. Thanks.
  23. You're correct, I over-exaggerated. I just still can't get those nightmare Browns and Pats* games out of my head from a few years back. At the very least, (if I recall correctly) the Pats* game was in NE not the Ralph, so we didn't choke at home.
  24. That's funny. At least someone with the Bills is pushing to get more primetime though. As an out of town fan, I hate the fact that there's usually only one game a year that I can sit home and relax instead of dropping a 100 bucks at a DC bar. And even though we choke miserably on national television every freaking year, at least get some exposure for a couple hours. Its embarrassing how many times I run into people that are in disbelief that Buffalo has (or still has) a team - seriously.
