yea its awesome. i watched it last year. when there was only 7 episodes, i assumed it was canceled. can't wait til it comes back

I think it is quite obvious were going to let both of them go in the next two years, and then start our DB draft cycle once again in 2010. i wouldn't be surprised if teams will drop Cory Webster money on Greer, and backload it. The Bills will let him go. On McGee, I'm sure the bills will moan that his knees are too much and he's on the wrong side of 30, and that we conveniently have his replacements in Yobouty and McKelvin. So long the both of them, they ain't comin back, as long as Ralph and Dick are in charge.

Now I know this is a little old news, but I thought I'd put it up here, since most of you hate Morty. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...&id=3828530 When asked for a response to Trask's statement, Mortensen sent The Associated Press an e-mail, noting "The Raiders have lost the privilege with me of running stories past them for comment. This stems from their history of denials to most stories I have reported -- as well as others in the media -- when those stories have eventually proven to be true." Know it goes on to say that he denies saying such and he made a mistake, but that is some serious arrogance by old Morty. And we thought he had a grudge against the bills? Basically, he sucks and doesnt do any work anymore.

TMQ: London Fletcher unwanted player of the year

haha that was an awesome way to put someone in their place. its also good to know that bethea was the 24th safety taken in the 2006 draft, when whitner was #2. Watched the kid when he was at Howard...he was nasty. -
What Scouts Inc says about the top 2 TEs
TheLynchTrain replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd like Pettigrew, but I understand what everyone thinks about the idea of a "reach pick." But what about Owen Daniels? We talked about this earlier, and how as a restricted, we would have to give up some picks. Dont you think it would be wiser to get a guy thats proven himself for a few years, puts up good numbers than a college guy, especially if were using a #1 on a college guy? He could contribute immediately. -

Um, lets see....Ferguson, Jake Long, Camarillo showed up, Devon Bess ,a new Ricky Williams, Joey Porter coming back into his own, Akin Ayodele....to name a few. Yeah, some of those guys were players that were there before and floundered, but guess what? New FO and new coaching staff turned them from marginal talents or over the hill stars into essential team players or superstars, respectively. What's that? Good coaching and talent evaluation. The Dolphins opening day roster had 35-40 new guys that were not there last opening day. Parcells ripped that team apart, brought in guys he knew would work in his system, and kept the ones he knew Sparano could mould. I'm sure him or any other top-flight talent evaluator/coach in the league could do the same to the Bills. Whitner would look like a superstar, we'd bring a stength and conditioning coach in to stop our players from getting hurt, ect. It's all about the FO talent.

Um, last time I checked Schobel has been playing the last 3-4 years between 238 and 243. And Jason Taylor's been playing that weight for quite some time. Personally, I think him being undersized has contributed to his injuries in the past. But even before that, Schobel was never any bigger than 255-260, and early in his career he was a damn good sack specialist (obviously some on here will disagree, say his sacks were in bunches, ect). But there are plenty of DE that are considered "undersized" that are beasts. I think that label is coming off now because of the success of the speedy smaller guys. Remember Dwight Freeney being called a reach and undersized? He was 265 pounds!

Bills add to FO disciples

They've had some amazing drafts and others that were alright. But even with some so so years in the draft, we all know their team is downright stocked with talent. Look at the drafts since he was there (* means Pro Bowl player): 2001: LT*, Brees* 2002: Jammer (eh, serviceable but not worth top 5 pick), 2003:So so draft, but picked up Antonio Gates* undrafted and Kris Dielman (starting LG) undrafted and Stephen Cooper (starting LB) undrafted...rediculous! 2004: Phillip Rivers*, Igor Olshansky, Nick Hardwick*, Shaun Phillips, Michael Turner, and Nate Kaeding* (used from Manning trade). Remember they also got Wes Welker as undrafted (and subsequently released). 2005: Shawne Merriman*, Luis Castillo*, Vincent Jackson, Darren Sproles, Scott Mruczkowski (good versatile C and G) 2006: Antonio Cromartie*, Marcus McNeill*, Jeromey Clary (starting RT), Tim Dobbins (starting LB) 2007: Craig Davis (injured, on his way to being a bust), Eric Weddle, Jyles Tucker (starting LB) undrafted 2008 (I believe his last draft and then he stepped down): Antoine Cason (hasn't shown anything yet), Hester (good pick, probably too high for a FB but he can play RB too), nothing else of note here so far. I'm sure there are some players I've missed here. But another thing: take a look at their depth charts...almost every starter has been drafted by the Chargers...absolutely amazing. Off hand, the only guy that it looks like they brought in is Chris Chambers. Amazing. All homegrown talent. Now the fact that half their players are on roids or dropped in value during the draft because of steriods issues is besides the point... It will be interesting to see how involved he is in the drafts as a bills "national scout." From my understanding, that means scouting the league rather than college players? I'm sure they'll bring his input. But bringing ANYONE in is a step, and to bring a guy from the Chargers, who draft better than almost anyone in his tenure, is awesome. -
I think we should go for a DE in the first, either with the 11th or trade down. But I also think we should get Lawrence Sidbury (Richmond Spiders) in a later round. I keep hearing scouts say he is a beast and he's only getting drafted later because he isnt a FBS player, ie might take a while to develop. In fact, I wouldnt mind if we spent all our draft picks on o or d lineman. One of them has to work out, right? But hey, I digress. Check him out, he's playing at the senior bowl

Dolphins new owner seeks government aid
TheLynchTrain replied to RLflutie7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Being from Washington, I laugh at this notion. There is no such thing as a residential "neighborhood" around the White House, it is all government buildings, parks and commercial businesses. Any residents that lives in the "neighborhood" would live in high end condos, which are few and far between in the Farragut/McPherson/Metro Center area. If by "neighborhood," you mean Washington DC area disadvantaged residents, most of who live across the river, then I'd understand what you mean. But there are no poor White house "neighborhood" folks, save for the bums that bum around the Metro stations. -

Yeah they'll put the tag on him, but that doesn't mean they will have to sign him right away. They'll probably tag him and wait to see how Brady's working out. -
Because Fewell doesnt cut it. Meeks at least has experience at the position and probably a better understanding of the defense we run. I dont think there'd be any drop off. Meeks is also a very well respected by his players and around the league, and deservedly so. He gets the most of out his players. I dont think you can say the same about Fewell. I think the tampa 2 is retarded, but if were gonna do it, i think we should at least do it adequately.
-
7 year coordinator for Dungy in Indy resigned today. Yeah, we hear everybodys coming back, blah blah, but if they were smart they'd fire our Fewell and go after Meeks. He had some years that were subpar, but hes a good coach. And continuity? The guy runs the Tampa 2! From the guy that started (or had a large part) of the system. Obviously, we wont. And Fewell hasn't been half bad. But he hasnt been that great either. But it would be a start to placate these fans. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/index

http://www.centsports.com/?opcode=373262 Got it from a friend, and its pretty cool so I thought I would pass it along. I've never bet on anything before, but this is a site where they give you 10 cents to bet on (paid for by advertisers). If you get a resonable sum after a while they let you cash out. I've been playing for about a week and its pretty fun...but I can see why I would never make it in the gambling world with real money. Enjoy!

Why NE is gonna franchise Cassel - read this

More to the fact, how the heck would Matt Cassell's mom know? FA doesn't start for few months, and it is illegal under NFL rules to talk to anybody under contract. Another laughable post by alphadog. Who would drive a car like that and call themselves "Alphadog" anyways. ahah -
Kawika Mitchell - Good FA pick up or not?
TheLynchTrain replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When we signed him, Giants fans told me he was a great pickup. And we got him for what...3 mil a year? I also figured that he didn't have to be any better than our third best LB (Poz and Crowell). I think the absence of Crow hurt him, and obviously the rest of the D. He also seems to be a hot/cold player. When he's hot (KC, Denver, Jax), yeah he was unstoppable. But he did have some terrible games, terrible quarters, and terrible plays where he over committed, missed his assignment, or just had a poor tackle. I think he'll be a better player with another year in the system, Poz having another year, and hopefully an upgrade in our LB corps so that he can go back to his original role of being the third best LB. -
Ashton Youboty was a damn good player in the first month of the season before he got hurt. A lot of people will say that he was the best player on the field for defense in our first five games. I don't agree, but he was damn well close. Playing nickel, he was solid...made great tackles and looked like he was ready to emerge. But he got hurt...and I think a lot of people forgot about his contributions. Hopefully he'll rebound next year, stay healthy, and make the loss of greer not hurt too much.

I agree 100%. Jenkins was a monster through the first 8-9 games. IMO, he was the AFC MVP, at least defensive MVP. Remember the first bills game? He was in the backfield every other play. But around game 10, he fell flat. Probably conditioning, maybe ill suited to the scheme. Whatever it was, he was downright terrible in the second half of the season. It was night and day between the first and second Jets-Bills games for him. For all the blame that was heaped on Brett Favre for the meltdown (deservedly so), I think Jenkins should have bore as much or more blame than Favre. We will see if he can rebound or not. Good thing about the Stroud/Jenkins comparisons: yeah they both came with the same trade value, but remember Jenkins got a 5 year 31 mil contract before he even came on board with the Jets. Stroud did not.
