Can people really be this stupid?
TheLynchTrain replied to The_Philster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eh, they're people who write in, and I don't think their opinions are any dumber than some of the comments on this board. The first one is an obvious stupid statement, no doubt. I think the second guy was trying to make a joke. Of course every city that doesn't have a NFL team would want to steal the bills. And of course if that happened most people would shun the future Bills organization. But you don't find it funny that somebody would say teams would refuse to take the Bills because it would bring our "supposedly sh-------" people along with the team, like parasites? C'mon, its funny. -
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the bills embarrassed themselves more here than the Mets did last month with their inaugural stadium patch aka "Dominoes patch." This looks like something they did in a graphic art 101 class, not from an ad agency. Wait a sec, I'm sure they wouldnt spend on outside contractors...Ralph's daughter probably had her hand in this too...

Bills are going after Fred Taylor

Does this mean we make up for the draft pick we gave away to Jacksonville for Rob Johnson? -
We all know that Greer is gonna get a lot of money. When Webster signed back in December, we knew the CB market was hitting the roof, once again. And I'm quite sure the Bills are going to let him go without any compensation, because that's how they roll. The thing is, can we really franchise and trade him? The tag (before any other signings this offseason) was 9.96 million. That's more money that Asante and Nnamdi...and Nnamdi's signing is probably going to make the number go higher. Obviously, if we do franchise and trade, any team isn't going to pay him 10 a year...they'll make it long term and with a less amount. But I don't think he's worth 10 mil a year, and his agent, once franchised, might demand that kind of money per year. Do you think that such a high number would scare teams off? That's what I wonder if the Bills franchised him. I'm hoping that if they do, they could get a third, possibly a second for him. I don;t know.

Bo Scaife to be Franchised

How much are people willing to bet on this board that the Bills won't sign a free agent TE, will draft a guy in the 4-5th round or later that is subpar and won't do much, and have Royal as the starter again? I'm almost certain that the Bills will do this once again. History shows such. -
Peppers Narrowed Suitors Down to Four.......
TheLynchTrain replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think you guys can compare these two guys stats. They are completely different offenses that they work out of. Both had great lines, check. But Carolina ran to set up the pass (which they didn't do very often and most of it was to Smith), and the Pats* passed on almost every down. Both QBs had their shortcomings. Delhomme couldn't be counted on to carry the team, as shown in the Champ game. But Cassell couldn't throw the ball more than 20 yards without being wildly inconsistent....and he had Randy Moss, arguably the games greatest deep threat! Still, Cassell can improve on that part of his game...Delhomme's time for improvement is done. Still, Carolina was pretty dumb to put the game on the shoulders of a guy who is run first/game manager... a job which he is one of the best in the game at. -

What's even more strange about this is the idea that he wants to be a 3-4 linebacker. Now, if he is franchised and traded before he signs, do you think that tag would go down to linebacker money if they intend to sign him as a linebacker? Does everyone remember last year, when Suggs was tagged and he wanted defensive end money instead of linebacker money...about a half a million dollar difference? NFL said no way. And last year the gap was a lot more (about a million in a half), but since Dansby and Suggs were tagged last year, the LB franchise tag has gone up. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true I'm guessing that the tag will stay at DE money b/c he hasnt played a down for a new team, but I wonder if it would affect the long term contract. Would a team want to pay a 3-4 LB DE money? I don't know. -

Adding to that, he's 20 pounds larger than a typical NFC outside linebacker. Is he going to lose 15-20 pounds? What's that going to do to his strength? Yeah, he was fast as hell coming out of college, but does he still have that same youthful speed? Are his coverage skills going to be on par with a OLB? This whole situation is ridiculous. I can't imagine what TBD would be saying if we had a #1 overall pick from West Seneca play here for 8 years, always show enthusiasm and heart for the game, and then decide after one season that he's done with the area. It's all quite strange. -

good thing is he said he only wants to play for the four teams in the NFC. I'm crossing my fingers that this is true. But IMO I think he's gonna suck next year. He's been in the same scheme for 8 years, played in the comfortable confines of his home state....he's a homeboy. Now he's gonna move to across the country, to a totally different defense, with a fat contract to make him not care, and you're telling me he won't struggle? At least for the first year or two? This whole situation reminds me a lot of the Freak. -
i think it might work, IF he gets cut. He did play at 'Cuse, so maybe he wouldn't have issue with playing upstate. But if he does get cut, I think his best fit (first choice) would probably be with the Eagles. Hometown, better chance of playoffs, ect.

When is the Last Time the Bills Picked
TheLynchTrain replied to Kenwick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NC was an injury replacement...but he still did play lights out that year...I think it was 2005, the season that ended with that dreadful Pittsburgh game and Bledsoe's last year. -
Yes! I love the Pizza Man!

Kiper likes Cassell over Stafford and Sanchez
TheLynchTrain replied to Willis990's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pats are gonna trade cassell then turn one of those 1st rounders into a QB for the future. If they get rid of cassell and dont get a QB in the draft, they'll probably sign a vet backup and grow o'connell, who could really be something. -
Everyone on here got on Trent's case the other day for an ambiguous interview. Get over it. Reggie Bush says: "SDC: All right, I know you gotta get out of here soon, so we'll start wrapping it up. Has any part of the NFL experience surprised you, compared to what you went through at USC? RB: Umm, I think the biggest thing for me, that surprised me, was that going from USC to the New Orleans Saints, was how big of a difference there was going from a winning program, to a program, or organization that's historically known for losing. Just the difference in, I think, a lot of things that are handled. " http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_...?urn=nfl,140485 the boys on this board would disown marshawn lynch if something like this was said.

I think Belichick wouldn't trade cassell in the division simply because he wouldn't want to ruin the kids career. He would destroy cassell if he went to the jets. DESTROY HIM. He made the kid and he knows all his weaknesses. Sure Cassell had a pretty amazing year out of nowhere, but he still couldn't throw the deep ball and he had the deepest WR core in the league along with the best coaching. I think Belichick would feel bad (oh no feelings!) if he traded him in the division and he would believe the pro's wouldnt outweigh the cons. -
What young QB would rather have than Edwards?
TheLynchTrain replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you forgot to add the Pats* Kevin O'Connell from San Diego State to the list...the Pats* took him in the third round last year and before Cassell's breakout season he was supposedly the heir apparent to Brady. He's 6'5 230 lbs and supposedly had the best arm in the class last year. Now with Cassell's days likely over in NE* bc of economics (or at least after 2009 season), O'Connell will probably be the 2nd string in the future. Give him a few years in Bellichick's system and we might hear his name again after Tom Brady's days are over. But he might also just be a Belichick system QB, and his appeal right now is strictly because he's in the perfect situation -

Thank God The Bills Only Play 16 Games
TheLynchTrain replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as Lindy is a great coach, he has a track record the past few years of giving up on his backup goaltenders. And when they play, they are so rusty that they dont play again for 15 games. Its a vicious cycle. Miller played 72 games last year, partly because in the last 25 games, every point was do or die. If he plays at or near the same amount this year and we make the playoffs, we're gonna be bounced real quick.
