  1. Im not really sure what you mean by that. How did his pro day go? Did he struggle or do well? Did the injury hurt him? How was it indicative of his career? And while these guys do have past injuries, that doesn’t make the injury prone. Bowers played most of the season on a bum knee. That’s a plus to me not a minus. Besides a Meniscus is pretty minor. Once its healed (which is prob mid May at the latest) its good as new. That wasn’t true 10 years ago but it is today. Besides, anybody could tear their ACL on any play or walking to their car in the morning. Marcus McNeil is a good example. He has a spine condition but hasn’t suffered from any spinal injuries, yet many other players have had spinal injuries. Bowers knee shouldn’t be any more of a deterrent than anyone else’s knee. The only guys teams should avoid are guys that are made of glass - Like Chad Pennington. One injury doesnt ruin a guy anymore, the only ones that can these days seem to be concussions. I can’t think of any players in this draft I would avoid because of injury concerns.
  2. Marcus McNeil (spinal stenosis). I would count Crabtree too, although he ahsnt made the all pro team yet. But with medical procedures these days the injuries are a lot less severe. Drew Brees should was torn to sheet and he came back fine. Wes Welker came back from an ACL in 8 months – and was in All Pro form too. I say drafting injured players is the way to go. Target them. If you can draft a 1st round talent in the 2nd or 3rd because he tore his ACL or broke his ankle then take him. In 3 years he will have healed and be doing just fine.
  3. I still dont see what the deal is. Didnt the Supreme Court make a ruling on the MLB back in the 20's that essentailly exempts pro sports from anti trust laws? Ruling that pro sports could not co-exist with anti trust laws and are thus not bound by them? Courts ruled agaisnt the USFL in their lawsuit in the 80s. The NFL could also either postpone the draft, or end the lockout and not be bound by a cba. They could then decide to institute a rookie wage scale and schedule 2 more games for next season if they wanted.
  4. What was the percentage before the game split? My guess is 14.7% Big Whoop. To this day I have not met a Canadian fan at a Bills game that prefers the games in Toronto. Every one of them says they stink and no one cares or goes. They seem hate it more than we do.
  5. I hope you are joking, but I can never tell with you.
  6. yea that should absolutely count.
  7. hockey is played on ice - thats pretty unique. I dont think figure skating counts as a sport. I accept its very difficult and physically demanding, but if the winner/loser is decided by a panel of judges then its really more like a competition or a talent show, not a sport. Curling is cool I always end up watching that in the Olypics thinking "Man I bet anyone can get on this US team - I should totally try out and brag about being an Olympic athlete for the rest of my life." Ice fishing is cool but you cant do that in a rink. I think various forms of ice racing would be the only other "sports" left that are played on Ice, like ice sailing or those jeep races with the spiked tires. Have I forgetten any other ice-sports?
  8. Fairley Dareus Watt *I left out Quinn and Cam Jordan because I really haven’t seen them play with my own two eyes, however I do firmly believe they should be considered on reputation alone.
  9. Ralph “Lets draft the player XXXXXX!” Buddy “Its not our pick yet Ralph, go get some prune juice and come back in 20 mins.” 20 minutes later…. Ralph “OK Buddy who is left for us to take” Buddy “We got our guy Ralph, just like you said too!” Ralph “Huh? I don’t remember saying to take that guy…? Buddy “You don’t, you were right here the whole time? We did just like you said. You are older than dirt you must not remember.” Ralph “I need more prune juice” - I don’t care if it happens that way on purpose or on accident, but I want Ralph out of all decision making please.
  10. The spread is designed to create large windows and get players in space (easier to complete). It also tends to incorporate short passes which are more likely completed than long bombs. Teams also uses many different types of screens as “running” plays. Depending on the team, the number of screens a team runs could easily exceed 30% of all the passes thrown (example Dan Lefevour at Central Michigan or Colt Brennan at Hawaii). Lets say a QB throws 100 passes over the course of 2 games and 30 of those passes are screens of some kind. I’d say 27 of those would be completed figuring 1 in 10 is dropped/batted down/an off target throw. Even if the QB completed only 50% of the remaining 70 throws, his completion percentage would be 62%. If the QB completed 60% of his non-screen throws, it would be 69% Just another example of how stats are misleading.
  11. No, it says the Bills arent willing to commit 8 to the box. That means they need to be able to stop the run with 7. Your logic is ssa sdrawkcab.
  12. This is correct.
  13. Thats awesome man, I would have loved to go to something like that. How did you hear about it? Do you coach for a HS team or something?
  14. By passer do you mean throwing motion? Outside of throwing motion, Id say Tebow is on par or exceeding Newton in all phases. He does have a year of NFL experience under his belt but still - thats what we are talking about. I'll eat my hat if Newton has a better career than Tebow.
  15. Awesome talk man - but why was he at UF showing clips of his games? Why were you there? Not trying to be a Jauron, just curious. Was it a coaching conference or something?
  16. What makes you say that? Just curious.
  17. I would say Washington and Minnesota, but I read an article the other day where Chan Gailey was asked if they had identified their top 3 players for this draft and he responded something like "Its not that simple. You cant just look at three guys, you have to look at more. If someone at 9 calls you up and gives you a great deal to trade back then you better have 9 guys you like" Considering Nix and Gailey are pretty simple and straight forward, I suspect they have had conversations with Dallas to move back to 9. My guess is Dallas wants Peterson Bad. I am going to go Nostradamus right now and predict we trade back with Dallas and they take Peterson at 3.
  18. Thanks for proving my point, which is - just because we have the almighty Wang and Rhinehart at G, its 's still a position that needs a significant upgrade if we ever want to make the playoffs.
  19. Here is a list of assumptions Bills fans seem to make about our team way too often: - Lee Evans just needs a legit #2 WR to be good - Fitz just needs a better OL and a TE - Spiller needs time to develop – he is going to be special - Urbik is going to develop into a starting RG - DBell just needs to stay healthy and go through a full season of weight training and he will be great - Mansfield Wrotto can develop into our starting RT - Troup is going to be our answer at NG - Carrington is going to develop into a great DE - Poz just needs a better DL in front of him - Whitner would be an all pro Safety if the front 7 was better - McKelvin will be a great lock down CB once we get a pass rush - Maybin just needs better coaching - Maybin just needs to put more effort into improving – he has all the talent just needs to put forth the effort - Merriman is going to be playing at one OLB spot - Batten is going to be at one ILB spot. I’m not saying I agree or disagree with any other these points, but I’m sure everyone reading this post has read someone else’s post that contained one of these assumptions. Does anyone else find this insane? I listed 2/3rds of the team – and every one has some excuse as to why they aren’t producing. Since when is a young player developing a sure thing? Most rookies don’t pan out – yet most assume that Troup, Spiller, Carrington and Moats are going to be our savior at their respective positions? People still have hope for Maybin? People don’t want us to draft Fairley or Dareus because we took Carrington and Troup last year??? I just read in one thread that someone didn’t want to draft Miller because we have moats and merriman already at OLB….Really? They aren’t sure things, not for this season or next or the one after, and even with them we are still weak at the position. At some point we have to stop making excuses for the players – we need to get better. We are drafting 3rd overall, that makes us the 30th best team in the league last year (out of 32 for those who cant count). 30th best – we need upgrades everywhere. We shouldn’t rely on Troup being our answer at NG because he didn’t show that he WAS the answer. We cannot let him be the reason we avoid another potentially great player. We cant expect Urbik to play like a playoff caliber G – if there is a great G prospect there at 34 we should nab him. We shouldn’t assume Whitner would be an all pro safety – because he isn’t an all pro safety. Hoping and praying that guys we already have are magically going to get better isn’t the way to build a Super Bowl Champion. Going out and getting players who get it done is. The guys on the team got us to 4-12, clearly they didn’t get it done. If we aren’t willing to replace players like Whitner and Evans and arent willing to invest more picks at weak positions like NG (Troup) and DE (Carrington) and LB(Poz/Merriman/Moats) then we are never going to get better. I got on a ramble but you get my point, we need better players everywhere, that means drafting at position where we recently added another guy and replacing average at best veterans with better players.
  20. I agree with your guy – Pouncy is a bad center, he simply cannot snap the ball. He makes a better G and honestly him and his bro were amazing next to each other. I think he will be a PB G moving forward and honestly I am not sold on Urbik only because the Steelers (much better eye for talent than us) cut him when they had one of the weakest OLs they have fielded in their history. He didn’t see much action with us before injury either. Don’t get me wrong I love Brooks Reed. He is a nasty effort guy and I hope he is on our team. But he is short (6’2’’ I think) and has short arms (which will hurt him as a pass rusher). He is also a short-strider and very stiff. I think that will hurt him in the draft process and cause teams to drop him. If I am a team I make him a late 2nd/early 3rd which puts him in concideration for our 3rd rounder. When did Wisconsin play Clemson? I”m sure I would have caught that game and I cant check youtube here at work). But Carimi is a big strong monster who can move. He can get his weight over his toes a bit and get off balance but I think that’s correctable and its been something he has been able to overcome in college. He played great against some very good DE in the Big 10(12) – Claybonre, Heyward, C. Wooten from last year. He also played very well vrs some of the speed guys from TCU and in the Sr bowl practices (injured for game). I think he is going to be the measure of the NFL RT for the next 10 years. He is maybe the only player in the draft I would trade up for.
  21. I've always thought that Jones was better than Green honestly. I may be the only one that thinks that but whatever, I'd still be pissed if we drafted either of them. Not cause they are bad but because we have half a DL, half an OL, no LB core, and no TE.
  22. No one will ever be able to buy it for that amount. If it sold for list price, the property taxes would be between 50-60k a year after it was reassessed. thats nuts even for NFL players.
