No matter who we draft this weekend one thing is certain: Dick Jauron, Russ Brandon, and Chris Brown will tell us the Bills had a tremendous draft. We will hear we filled major holes, became more "athletic", added more speed and toughness, and are a young team on the rise. Same crap we've heard for nearly the past decade in our eternal rebuilding efforts.

I couldn't help but notice your avatar- a 1984 Topps Don Mattingly card. You bet card collecting was fun at that time and he was my favorite baseball player. Red flags were raised for me at training camp. As you may recall pre-injury Jonas Jennings was a pretty good RT. Mike Williams was drafted to be our LT. Remember he played RT at Texas but protected Chris Simms' blindside. Well low and behold, he started at LT in camp and was quickly moved to RT. This had flop written all over it from early in training camp. Modrak and Co. should have been fired for such a huge mistake that set the franchise back years. We had no reward for our 3-13 season.

Ellison has been forced into the starting lineup the past 2 years due to injuries to Poz and Crowell. Give the guy a break...he's doing the best he can. He's just too undersized to be a starting LB in the NFL.

Jim Jeffcoat as a reference to the good ole days??? Wow!!!!He was awful and should have retired before coming to Buffalo. Bryce Paup was a tremendous pick-up from Green Bay. He was a QB sacking machine for 2+ years.

Henry Jones was a great player but I wouldn't call him a ballhawk. He had one great year intercepting passes to my recollection. He was great shutting down the opponents TE. I remember when he replaced Leonard Smith in the superbowl due to injury and did well from that point on.

But is he an avid chess player like Marvin Fowler? Having intellect clearly means he's a good center. And explains why there are plenty of MIT nerds playing in the NFL.

JP Losman is a horrible QB. But the guy tried his best and never quit. And for that I respect him. He just doesn't have the mental capacity and feel for the game that cannot be taught or learned. The real blame falls on Modrak and Donahoe for trading back into the first round to draft him when everyone had JP projected as a 3rd rounder. They just had to show they were so much smarter than the rest of the NFL. And the rest is a bust QB who set the franchise back four years.

I'd take him over Ryan Fitzpatrick which tells you just how bad our reserve qb situation is.

I heard that too. The bottom line is money. The majority of players go to the highest bidder. It's just business.

Maybe I've become pessimistic thru our recent free agent signings, but the signing of Hamgartner has John Guy's name all over it. And that is not good. Hamgartner started at center for the Panthers in 2006 and was so effective he was replaced. Heck, the guy had spot duty last year at several positions. Now he's going to be our starting center. Wonderful. I know Jeff Saturday resigned with the Colts but why not offer something to Matt Birk? The guy has been to the Pro-bowl. This signing has Larry Tripplett, Robert Royal, Craig Nall, Matt Bowen, Touton Reyes, and Marvin Fowler written all over it. And Ryan Fitzpatrick...please. I am so passionate about the Bills but damn, we don't have a chance to win.

I'm getting flashbacks to Craig Nall. But hey, I'm sure he's a Jauron "character" type player.

I'd rather resign JP Losman and he's flat out horrible.
