  1. Keep in mind, we'll surely be a player around the June 1st cuts.
  2. Only two qbs go in the first round. Johnny football and Carr.
  3. Great thinking. Thanks for spending time on this post. Sometimes these things are a back door for this type of information. That said, I don't think anything obtained during this proceeding would be up to date or accurate as it pertains to the Bills. While some structure may be gleaned, I'm not sure that it's going to provide much insight. But, like Reading Rainbow, don't take my word for it.
  4. Even if we get Watkins or Evans, I think Stevie stays this year. Next year we would have to make a decision to keep Stevie or Williams- unlikely that we pay both at/around 8 million. This year Williams is cheap and would allow is to keep the stable, including SJ13. If EJ can't take his game to the next level with the current group and one of the top two from this draft class, he isn't the future. Then we draft qb next year and drop him into a lineup ready to win.
  5. You think we have holes; Whaley and Marrone don't. I agree. We have serviceable players and depth at all of these positions. Are 3rd, 4th and 5th rounders going to come in and be upgrades or are we simply going to bring in more guys like the ones we have? Positions on the o-line can surely be upgraded and even if we trade up, RT probably will be drafted. We don't need to address RB this year. We can, but can wait, if needed. CJ isn't a scat back. L'michael James is a scat; CJ isn't. How many 3-5 round safeties do we need? We already have 3 and Graham is likely going to compete there as well. There isn't an upgrade to be had here early on. People would scream bloody murder if we went safety. OLB and DE are interchangeable based on personnel. We have Lawson and Hughes who can play both. Again, no value here at 9 either. The strategy of plugging holes with picks 8-10 has gotten us exactly nowhere in the last 14 years. The time to be bold is now. Be it clowney or Sammy, make a move and see if we can get over the hump. I agree with others that, if possible, we need to avoid trading next years one in order to do so.
  6. I would argue that we don't have many holes- at least leadership doesn't think so. They think they are close and want elite talent to take the next step, not just starters and depth guys.
  7. Just saw that and literally lol'd. JeeZ
  8. Don't fret, we have chris Hairston and tank carder.
  9. Don't stay near stadium. Few bars, but not a great scene by any stretch. No permit parking. I'd recommend hammers lot. It's private, opens early and isn't cracking down on debauchery like the stadium lots have in recent years.
  10. Great minds, my friend. I live in California and have been to buffalo around 15 times in the past 7 years. This is always my exact dance card! Although I'm more Allen town than chip these days.
  11. Being around your age, from out of town, I make the trip at least twice a year. I fully recommend this approach. Do yourself a favor and go to the sundowner in Niagara.
  12. The home opener is always the best. Period. Hopes are still high
  13. Let me be the first to welcome Mr. Samuel Watkins to Buffalo. Reports cropping up that he'll be in town tomorrow. Fingers crossed we find a way to land him come May.
  14. Remember...Byrd was drafted as a CB. Just sayin'
  15. I just don't see a dance partner. Unless someone covets a CB and wants to jump ahead of Detroit. Not like someone is going to jump them for a qb.
  16. Stupid mock aside, this does raise an interesting question: Would Brandon and Whaley do something bold like trade next years 1st to move up knowing that their jobs basically hang on the outcome of this year? In other words would they mortgage the future to win now to ensure that they "the guys" when new ownership takes over?
  17. The fact that we are debating Bon Jovi v. Donald Trump just blows my mind. Seriously, sit back and think about that and how ludicrous it is for a minute. Really laughable. I sincerely hope something else breaks or someone else steps up soon. I'm not sure I can take anymore of my uninformed friends and family asking me about the prospective ownership of these two.
  18. * non transferable to Toronto or Los Angeles
  19. Not sure about KB; Watkins is.
  20. I agree with you, but the lay fan doesn't find OT sexy- hence the word elite. They didn't call Ebron elite when he visited.
  21. Let us not forget, they are all but guranteed to pick-up some vets post draft/June 1st cuts. They do it every year and will surely fill remaining holes, including possibly back-up QB at this time.
  22. I find it funny/interesting that the Bills editorial team put the word "elite" in front of Jake Matthews in their website write-up/Facebook post. Like they need to do everything they can to sell us on the idea of drafting a RT at 9.
  23. Seeing some tweets saying he's in town. Depth signing perhaps.
