  1. Listened to him this morning on local radio here in Atlanta. He just finished getting his MBA from Emory University. A very prestigious school. Dunn is a very good humble guy.
  2. SJF, you are about the most level headed person on here. Does it not seem odd how this was handled? How it is being handled? I use the word odd because why not just come out and say this was the plan all along? Or why not name Whaley GM as Nix is stepping down? Call a presser and do it all at once. This would make things more unified and give a better appearance to everyone, no? And i will go a step further and say why not do this back in January? I have no problem with Whaley as GM but the way it is being handled puts him in a bit of a strange spot. It appears almost as if Brandon or Ralph did not feel he was competent to run the draft yet.
  3. I like the Big Ben comparison and have been using it myself since i watched more of EJ's work. Lets just hope he can out it all together and become the QB we have been waiting for.
  4. The oddest thing about this entire process is the 'transition' from Buddy to Whaley. IF you believe Whaley is your GM then promote him to GM, why do you need a transition period? To me that does not sound good for Whaley. Over thinking on my part? Maybe. Can anyone tell me the last time they can remember a situation like this?
  5. I did not see anyone else mention this but from some reports (sorry no link) Rogers did not really 'push' himself at Tenn Tech. Another reason he slipped to UDFA. He had solid numbers but those where more based on his God given talent. I bring this up because Rogers was also probably not pushing himself at practice either. So now he comes to the NFL where he is the boy among men and he has to learn some fundamentals. I hope this is what ultimately decides if he stays or goes and not something else. I hope he can learn the routes and nuances of playing WR in the NFL. Rogers has the physical make up to play in the NFL: size, speed and hands. Question still remains, does he have the mental make up?? But no, you should not be concerned after 2 days of Rookie camp. He will need some time to develope. As long as he shows progress i think he will be on this team opening day.
  6. Look at it this way, the Bills are not going to the Super Bowl this year. They will maybe have a shot in 2-3 years if the young guys pan out and the ones they sign over the next draft or two. The only way you find that out is by playing them.
  7. I think you are correct. And i believe Rogers will get the nod ahead of Smith and Easley because the Bills know he will get picked off the practice squad. The only way Rogers does not make the team is because he gets in some type of trouble, which i hope not!.
  8. Most, not all, guys i have met that where shirts like that are dbags!!! arrogant s.o.b's.
  9. You are probably joking, but i will bite... IF Kolb has a 'great' year this team will win more then 7 games. Think about it, a 'great' year for Kolb would be 4000 yds(250 yds a game avg) 30 T.D. and 12 Int. They won 6 last year with arguably the worst coaching in football on D, and a back up QB. The D will be better with a competent Cord coaching and calling the game. Who really knows but if you have great QB play you will win...
  10. So sad... What so many of us would give to have the god given talent and ability he has. You can not help but feel bad for someone like this. Think about it, if he was in a healthy mental state there is no way he would act this way. You have to hope he gets help before he seriously injuries himself or someone else. Forget about football, he is a young man with hopefully his entire life ahead of him. Wasted potential is one of life's greatest tragedies...
  11. I remember watching that game with a gf. I got so pissed at the call i kicked a table across the room...such b.s. Beginning of the N.E home cooking era!!!
  12. Yep! I think he is the most intriguing guy in this weekend. Boom or bust type of guy. Word is that 14 teams wanted him and he choose Buffalo, lets hope it was a good choice for both parties! Hope all the guys stay healthy and we get to see them with pads on in a couple months...
  13. Ok, so now this is two Prince occurrences for me in one day. I am not a fan nor do i hate him or his music. First i walk back into the bedroom this morning and my gf(for lack of better term, family board), had Purple Rain on the TV, horrible movie. Now this? Weird.
  14. I also do not see a 'fragile psyche' guy being the type of QB Marrone would have wanted. Marrone seems like a no b.s. type of guy. I am sure in the vetting process of EJ they found out if he was tough.
  15. This is your opinion obviously. I will agree to disagree. I also will wait to see stats and impact after the season. See what Woods does compared to Patterson. IF Rogers stays focused and works hard he has more talent then Patterson. Up to Rogers to reach his potential.
  16. The taxes that will be used to help fund the stadium is a hotel and entertainment tax. Oh, and for those of you taking shots at Blank, please, i would love him as the owner of The Bills. He wants a winner and demands it and does everything he can to help his F.O achieve that. Can we say the same about Ralph Wilson? And i am not bashing R.W. i am just saying i would take Blank any day!!!
  17. This is not the NFL of old. how many players from the Bills SB would have been suspended? Now i get what some of you are saying. But the only guy the Bills took who i would put in the 'questionable character' class is Rogers, and he is an UDFA. So to me he has learned a very important leason about making bad decisions. He went from a millionaire to a guy having to fight for his life to make a team. If that does not motivate him then nothing will and he will not be in the league for long. I hope he does get it. he is a young person who is growing up. Maturity does not happen like it use too. Not saying it is right but people today take longer to grow up. At some point we all get it, just depends on what makes us get there. Hopefully whatever it is that makes us get there did not hurt ourselves or more importantly someone else.
  18. That is pretty funny. But it is on eof the reasons i did not want Te'o. I do not think he has the mental toughness to overcome that. i will hopefully be proven wrong since i do not know him at all. Just from listening to interviews and such i wonder if he will ever be able to overcome it all and move past it.
  19. BB your love for QB from the midwest turned me off awhile ago. Now you are asking for Nassib in the fourth when his own coach was part of the draft? It seems like your trying to be the guy that if EJ does not pan out you can say 'i told you so'. When in fact you should be rooting hard for him. All 32 other teams passed on Nassib 3 times before he got picked. With out hesitation i can say EJ would not have been there after mid 2nd, at worse case. What does that say??? Patterson is a nice player. But i will take Woods and Rogers over him any day.
  20. Totally agree on Choice. Watched him at GT and never thought he was great, reliable yes, but not great. That was in college. in the pros his greatest attribute is his mouth or leadership abilities. However, when you are not very relevant on the field that quality is negated somewhat, i believe.
  21. Marrone is a OL man and coached them along the way. I wonder if he thinks he can coach up some of the guys? I do not see him as the same type of personality as Chan. Oline is so much about technique. I see Marrone as being very hands on with the guys. I also wonder if they do not want to rock the boat to much by bringing in a vet? Continuity is very important on Oline. Guys have to have trust and faith in one another. Who knows they may sign Moore tomorrow, but for now from everything i have seen they have a plan and ar enot afraid to execute it. Starting with the cuts, a few FA pick ups so far, the draft, UDFA, and now the trade of Sheppard. It is hard to argue with the fact the Bill are making moves and trying to shake the 13+ playoff drought.
  22. I also like the fact he has a guy on his team in Stevie to look too. Stevie was a 7th rounder who is quickly becoming a house hold name due to his play and the way he conducts himself. yes Stevie likes to have a bit too much fun during some games at times, but he is a good guy. IF Stevie can mentor Rogers on being a Pro then this very well could be the steal of the draft...since he was not even drafted!
  23. Kolb EJ Tuel. TJax gets cut/asks for his release. Corp cut. Kolb plays well behind the Bills line and with the running game he has in Buffalo. Bills make the playoffs Kolb is starter next season till he gets injuried. EJ comes in and takes the Bills to the SB. The Bills win the SB over the Pack! Ha
  24. Or these where safe picks or need picks Why do you assume the other teams know more then the Bills?
