I dont think so. Honestly. What does Byrd have to make a claim he deserves top money? His Int's? Ok well teams can go look at each one of those(18 in four years) and frankly i see Byrd as an opportunist type of FS. He usually benefited from a poor throw then being a play maker. He is nothing special in the run game. And i highly doubt teams scheme around Byrd like they did Reed. Byrd is solid, do not get me wrong. But i think this past FA period we started to see a change. Besides the Dolphins, many teams did not over spend. teams are getting wiser. My opinion. IF(and i have no clue it is true) Byrd wants out of Buffalo, why? because he wants to go to a contender probably? Well both Super Bowl teams just let their safeties walk.

Maybe i am just an angry Bills fan, but i highly doubt Byrd gets number one saftey money from any team. I believe this could back fire on Parker in the end. Parker is human and think he just did what all of us do, messed up.

Good story and i think it is the right approach for both Byrd and the Bills. Just under $7mil is not crazy money for this year. See how he plays and fits in the system. IF he stands out and has a great year, i bet the Bills would pay 5 years $40mil for him. IF the coaches decide that Byrd was not a big impact after the season, let him walk and spend money in another pressing area.

With out pressure on a NFL QB, DB's get eaten alive. They just do. You as a Bills fan should know that better then anyone. I think you are more upset that Byrd seems destined to be another good Bills player that leaves, and thus are being arguementative. Sorry, but with out a pass rush you could have an all pro secondary and the offense would still be able to move the ball through the air.

Ah yes LeBeau. I keep wishing the Bills had some how kept him here. I know he wanted to return to Pitt. But gosh he is a genius. I like Zimmer, but really like Nolan with the falcons more. Nolan did more with less then i think anyone did last year. the Falcons D has very few play makers on it. Heck i would say the Bills have way more. Funny how a great QB can make almost any D player expendable?

Kind of weird McCain brings this subject up. Attendance to games has been on a decline for a few years now. Due large in part to the HD experience and being able to watch games in your home vs a stadium with a bunch of obnoxious (d)ucktards! If anything i think the NFL is going to be looking for ways to bring fans back to the stadium. Hopefully it is positive means, ticket prices, overall experience heightened, etc...

I hope Whaley does handle it this way. Parker and Byrd have zero leverage. Stop acting like they do. Play or don't. You lose money now and maybe in the long run. Make some of these agents realize they do not have the ultimate power the teams do. If FA is any indication teams are working with or watching more closely what other teams are doing.

Exactly. IF Pettine and Marrone turn this team around and get them to the playoffs for a couple seasons straight then other teams will look to pick off a guy or two from the Bills' staff. If the Defense plays a huge role in why the Bills make the playoffs after 13 seasons, Pettine will start to become a name many look at. If Pettine does become a HC somewhere else we as Bills fans will be sad to see him go, but it will also most likely mean we have ended our long suffering playoff drought.

2 years to prove he is legit 3 years he is a viable HC option. The other thing we must remember there is great Cords on a bunch of other teams. The Falcons and SF O cords come to mind.

I like the underneath routes in space, but echo the sentiments of Goodwin and Graham need to get open and catch the ball on deep fly patterns. This will do so much to help open up Stevie, Chandler, and Woods. CJ average yard per carry last year was astonishing when you factor in that teams did not really need to respect the deep ball.

Besides Brady and maybe Amendola who else would you want from NE offense? Seriously, if/when Brady retires watch BB go right along with him. Save the Matt Cassel talk, since Cassel the front office has been striped away, and the talent on the field is showing it.

I went 7-9 wins. I think the D will actually show up this year. I look for Dareus to have a rebound year, and Mario to have a 12+ sack year. I think the offense will also improve under this new staff. Gailey trying to be head coach and o/c was just silly. The entire team suffered because of Gailey spending to much time on O scheming and not enough time on building a team. 8 to 9 wins and 2014 playoffs.

Exactly my thought. The Bills will have to hit a couple 30+ passes early on in the year to keep teams honest. They have the guys now to get behind the DB's, lets hope Manuel or Kolb can make the throw on the money.

While i understand you saying that i also have to wonder how much of Kolbs production or lack there of came from his surroundings in Arizona? He played behind arguably the worst Oline in the last few years. Arizona had no running back. Yes they have an elite WR, but if he is the only play maker on the field, teams can shut down a WR. Is Kolb the next great Bills QB? Doubtful. I do think he will make the coaches have a tough decision by the end of preseason as to who starts.

No doubt, the big fella with provide a nice big target for whoever is qb. With the speedsters the Bills now have i would look for Chandlers numbers to increase some.

I was fortunate enough to go to the Bills vs Cowboys SB in Pasadena in 93. I took a piss next to Howie Long. I did not say anything well because i was taking a piss. ha I also attended the first ever Jim Kelly football camp back in the day. I remeber my flag football team sucked. So one night Jim came over and offered to QB for a play. i was the center and snapped to Jim. Jim proceeded to get picked off by a 12 y.o. I turned around and grinned at him and he told me to shut up(while he was laughing).

So Hockey and basketball just finished, and it is the dog days of baseball. The guys over at ESPN are trying to get something going, i get it. If anything it is a nice tip of the hat to Bradham. He showed some improvement last year. Lets hope Pettine can turn him into a good to great lb. Bradham has the physical talent i think, he just needs to learn to be where he needs to be.

The fact that the game is played at home and that the Ravens are the SB champ i think gives the Bills a chance. The Bills are going to want to beat the Ravens a little bit extra i think. The fourth week is enough time for the guys to have played together some. if the coaching is right this game should be when we start to see what this team can do. I give it a 50/50 shot. Just like pretty much every game in the NFL.

I remember last off season we said this. it just did not happen. I want and hope it will this season. i hope the D comes together under Pettine and performs how they should. If so this D has a chance to be extremely good maybe even great. That said yes, i would love to see Brady rattled by a couple of early sacks. Personally that is Brady's one weakness, his ability to get rattled by a big hit. If Brady stays clean he will beat you, period!

I have thought this as well. It is all hinged on EJ=Jimbo. Or at least his production. By 87 Jimbo had 3 years of pro ball under his belt. Times have changed and rookie QB's are developing faster than ever before. Here is hoping EJ can lead this team back to a constistently good team.

as someone who is a large man. 6'3 and my weight has gone from 360 down to 255(yes i said down ha). I can tell you how easy it is for a guy at Dareus size and age to shed weight if he is motivated. I say easy because of his age and the fact he has some of the worlds best nutritionists and trainers at his disposal. Dareus has all the size and talent and during his ROOKIE season i saw a guy starting to become a leader near the end of the season. Last year he was obviously distracted with what happened to his brother, we all would be. I honestly hope and being a Bills fan believe he will build on his 2011 performance and put 2012 behind him. This new staff will by nature push him to be more aggressive which should bring out the best in the big man!
