I'm willing to keep an open mind and not totally dismiss the possibility that my preconceived assumptions are incorrect, but I tend to agree. At least in my experience, I've seen that term used far, far more often by those on the left to describe conservatives. I'm not saying it hasn't happened, but I don't recall ever seeing it used in another context with reference to modern politics.

Most "liberals" don't believe in the one issue you want to target. As much as you want that to be the case. Most republicans don't believe in removing access to abortions. Yet here were are withe parties representing things we don't believe in as a nation. The president has been a walking caricature of grandiose statements from day one. It's literally who he is. I thought you said free speech was a foundational principle. I see that does not include speech you do not like. Subjective punishment of speech is not standing up for a foundational principle.
