I understand what you are saying. But Jim Kelly is much better than Jalen Hurts could ever dream of being. Jim Kelly was a top echelon player in the NFL his entire career. That being said Josh Allen would have beaten the Giants and the Cowboys in the 4th Super Bowl. The Redskins and Cowboys 1st Super Bowl would have also been closer. Dan Marino threw a football better than any human being that has ever lived. But he didn’t win a Super Bowl. it’s a team game. Josh Allen is amazing. Hopefully w some studs on defense we will achieve our destiny this year. But please don’t compare Kelly to Hurts. I am not a Hurts fan. So that Hurts. Lol

I kinda noticed that too. But they still look good !

Minnesota lawmaker assassinated another shot.

Wonder why ? This may sound crazy but the police got there too soon, and there happens to be survivors. His manifesto included names like Walz, Ellison, and Omar and I'm thinking it was intended to be a false flag event that would then be blamed on MAGA IF the shooter really IS Vance Boelter, he is part of Praetorian Guard Security Services in Minnesota. He has ties to the Gaza Strip, suggesting a motive. https://www.pguards.net/leadership-team https://hotair.com/tree-hugging-sister/2025/06/14/breaking-two-mn-state-officials-shot-in-the-homes-by-gunman-dressed-as-law-enforcement-n3803803 -
I can't really comment on Kelly but I think Josh's understanding pre-snap has really come on under Brady (because the offense requires it more of him). However there is no way right now I'd let Josh Allen call the entire game. He gets too amped up at times as it is and I think he'd call his own number every play because he thinks he is the best player on the field. And he is right. But you can't win in the NFL that way. I understand by way of anecdote that maybe Kelly was guilty of that in SBXXV too. But I think generally he must have been pretty good at it.

Don't have it on your birthday and I would agree with you.

Stop w the Dion Dawkins nonsense. He is a good not quite very good O lineman. John Fina level. Conner McGovern is more talented. Dion Dawkins is a legend in his own mind. He should not be in the same sentence as Kent Hull. where is Terrance McGhee on your list?

And yet there were games almost a full 12 months later where Dorian Williams still resembled a spinning top, despite playing a ton of football in Milano's absence in the meantime. The very same Chiefs abused him in week 11 and the Ravens embarrassed him twice last season. His best game as a Bill, by far, was Jacksonville in week 3 and far from that being a catalyst for improvement it now looks like a swallow that didn't sniff a summer. I think we are close to the point where we have to admit his play recognition skills are not where they need to be and his understanding of the defense is a problem (and I liked Dorian coming out).

Enjoying the hell out of this parade, but damn as a former Army guy, their marching abilities pale in comparison to the Marines.

So Trent Dilfer is better than Allen? Jalen Hurts? Brad Johnson? Nick Foles? Jeff Hostetler? Those guys must be better than Kelly too because they WON Super Bowls. That’s the dumbest argument ever made. Someone said throw the deep ball earlier and that’s fair. Kelly was also elite calling the game. We haven’t seen that from Allen. When I compare players, I compare them vs. their contemporaries to avoid the “game was different argument.” Josh Allen is the MVP of the league. He’s been a top 3 QB and top 10 player for 5 straight years. Jim Kelly wasn’t that in his era. He was, and people hate this, a lot like Hurts is now. He was in the next tier of QBs and had the best roster in football there. He was the right guy for them. If Josh Allen quarterbacked those early 90’s team they have AT LEAST 2 Super Bowls. If Jim Kelly quarterbacked these Bills teams they would look a lot like Bucs do now.

It is closer than you make it out to be KJ. Playing QB in the 80’s and 90’s was a whole different game. Have you forgotten how violent the NFL used to be?! Go watch the hit Jim Burt put on Joe Montana in the 1986 Divisional playoff game in the Meadowlands. It will refresh your memory. And how about the hit Bruce put on Boomer Esiason that knocked him out on the Rich Stadium frozen turf when he was with the Jets. Josh Allen is a better athlete. But Jim Kelly was an awesome gunslinger.

I don't think Tre is a lock for the roster. If Hairston looks good and wins the job and Tre is struggling I think them deciding they want to keep and invest in the young guys as depth is a possibility and Tre would be potentially available later in the year. That is what we have seen happen across the NFL with the new practice squad rules. But if Hairston struggles and they are not sure about throwing him out there I am 95% sure it will be Tre, even if pre-season is rough, because they know what Tre White on a football field in this defense looks like. Probably 5% it would be Dane. I think Strong and Ingram are pretty much 0% shots to start week 1 in the absence, of course, of injuries ahead of them. I am not putting a huge amount of stock on him running with the 1s in June or his June performances. I am putting stock in what the Bills want and believe in from their corners. And the Benford situation is not analogous. Benford was competing with a fellow rookie - Elam. There was no vet alternative. In the end I think they both played week 1 from memory because Dane was out and then Dane came in week 2 and they went to a job share (slanted initially in Benford's favour) at CB2. Favours the vet over the rookie IF ALL ELSE IS EQUAL. Just to be absolutely clear. If a rookie is better he plays. They have started a ton of rookies early. The ones they haven't have generally not been good. Cook and Bernard the two exceptions and Bernard was not better as a rookie than Edmunds so that kinda made sense.

Yeah and that mindset is why we once trotted AJ Klein onto the field in the divisional round instead of playing a rookie Dorian Williams. Klein knew the defense better but that doesn't help when your movement skills resemble the Tin Man. There is a part of me that worries the same thing will happen with Tre White and Hairston. Hopefully not though. McDermott said earlier this week the plan is to play a lot of young players on defense and reports from OTAs/minicamp said Hairston was being coached hard and getting better week over week. So I hope that they are expecting him to win the job, and that even if he is still making some mental mistakes McDermott will give him his runway early in the season to acclimate to the NFL and the team will be better for it in January.

I’m not sure I get this logic. Dont you want your second round picks to be players who are good and valuable enough to command massive extensions? This logic would suggest that James Cook, if he walks after this year, was a better draft pick than DK Metcalf.

Totally agreed - always struck me as insecure coaching.

Joe B was being respectful of Tre White. I think it’s pretty clear what he means from watching mini camp.
