When would be the soonest we could do this? He is not going to be near 100% until at least November anyway the sooner we can open the roster spot the better.

He is ahead of schedule as far as rehab. Should return late preseason. Where is this Novemember crap coming from.

Whats the point of 'opening up a roster spot.' So we can keep a sixth safety or a fourth tight end or a second fullback?

This is the same thing I used to hear about Roscoe, we should trade him because he's "not worth a roster spot." A roster spot in itself has no value, and it can only be used to carry an extra bubble player (which usually means a special teamer).

Could you please show us a link to this November thing? If not, please stop posting!

Don't ya hate when that happens:

"Wide receiver James Hardy, coming off reconstructive ACL surgery that ended his rookie season, is optimistic he'll play and contribute in 2009. He said doctors feel he could be ready to practice a couple of weeks into summer training camp and possibly play in the final preseason game. "The rehab is coming along very well," Hardy said. "The doctor said I'm far ahead of schedule."

complete and utter lack of football IQ here...what good would it do to place Hardy, the future of this team, on IR? Is he gonna benefit more from playing with Lee, Josh, & T.O. while competeing with Steve Johnson, or sitting on the sidelines, taking notes on how to run better routes so next year, maybe, he'll be ready to play and go through the growing pains of, essentially, a second year player?

Lori,

Where is the filter for posts that are so obviously not well thought out...?

can't wait to see what the author of this post has to say for him/herself... :wallbash:

How do you know this?

ACL injuries ALWAYS TAKE A YEAR, no matter how ahead of schedule they tell you someone is. McGahee is a great example of this, but not the only one. I challange anyone to tell me one player that has returned to effective strength in any sport, following a major ACL tear, in less than one year.

ACLs just take a year, sorry, simple fact.
