As pre-draft visits continue, some agents are realizing that the best way to get the word out to the various teams about their guys is to share it with us.

And, of course, I’ve just guaranteed receiving at least an extra 100 e-mails per day through late April.

For today, we’ve been advised by the folks at Goal Line Football Management that Wake Forest safety Chip Vaughn will be meeting with the Bills on Wednesday and Thursday at the team’s facility.

Each NFL franchise is permitted to host up to 30 players before the draft, excluding players who went to college or grew up in the immediate vicinity of the team.

In trying to find out more information about Vaughn, we found this highlight video. It would be wise for more agents to put these on YouTube, frankly.

Scouts Inc. Player Evaluations

Overall Rank: 77 (3rd Round)

Position Rank: 5

Overall Football Traits

Production 2 Wake Forest red-shirted Vaughn and moved him from receiver to safety in 2004. He started two of the 11 games he played in during the 2005 season finishing with 25 total tackles, 16 unassisted tackles, .5 tackles-for-loss and one forced fumble. Vaughn started one of the 14 games he played in during the 2006 season finishing with 41 total tackles, 33 unassisted tackles, one tackle-for-loss, two pass breakups and one blocked kick. He also returned one kickoff for nine yards that year. Vaughn played in all 13 games in 2007 finishing with 105 total tackles, 62 unassisted tackles, 4.5 tackles-for-loss, one interception, 14 pass breakups and two fumble recoveries.

Height-Weight-Speed 3 Vaughn has just adequate range but his height and weight are prototypical for the safety position.

Durability 2 Durability doesn't appear to be a concern at this point.

Character 0 N/A

Defensive Safety specific Traits

Recognition Skills/Toughness 2 Aggressive and can jump underneath routes. Very physical and flashes a violent punch. Sells out and makes ball carriers pay for trying to tightrope the sideline. Can lose track of receiver trying to read the quarterback's eyes and can get caught out of position.

Closing Burst 3 Shows average to above-average closing speed coming out of backpedal but isn't as explosive coming out of cuts.

Fluidity 3 Does an adequate job of opening hips when asked to cover the deep half of the field but lacks prototypical hip fluidity and is going to struggle if asked to turn and run with slot receivers

Ball Skills 3 Tries to rip the ball out of the ball carrier's hands when teammates stand up the ball carrier. Shows just adequate ball skills and isn't much of a playmaker in coverage

Run Support 2 Fills hard when he reads run and flashes the ability to shed fullbacks/tight ends/receivers. Plays a little too high and can get engulfed by offensive linemen. Relentless and prevented a touchdown-run because of effort in the third quarter of the 2007 Nebraska game. Shows above-average body control in space and reliable open field tackler that wraps up
