I thought that I should post a few videos for those of you who are interested.

I see some of that leadership that the previous link was talking about.

I guess that I don't really have a good idea what kind of player he is but in this video I have a real good idea of what kind of man he is. Check out Maybin Speecch (second video down in the left column).

Good stuff, Tippy.

As I said, I have mixed feelings about Maybin, but these make me feel a little bit better about him, if that's the direction the Bills decide to go. He is a pretty impressive young man, for a football player.

Thank you...there is absolutely no way you can compare this guy to Freeney, more like E. Flowers. But listening to comments from DC Fewel stating that a situational player for the defense is more likely the case, has me leaning toward a player like M. Johnson (Ga. Tech). He can plays the SAM , then move to the DE in pass situation. Its the same as he did at Ga. Tech. The link show the versatility of this guy IMO, with a creative approach late in the 2008 season, Ga. Tech DC dropped him in coverage just to show more sides of this athletic phenom. If we're looking for a situation pass rusher, he definitely has to be in the discussion.

Watched the Youtube Michael Johnson stuff...all nine minutes.

He looks like he always knows where the ball is...some combination of instinct, vision, and understanding of what the offense is trying to do.

Very good against the run. Doesn't fall for misdirection and can string out plays to the sidelines.

Great leaping ability. These are the positives I saw.

He doesn't seem to have good snap anticipation or the all-important explosive first step (although he looks like he has a nice finishing burst).

Doesn't seem like he has the change of direction needed to play as a linebacker.

Finally, he seems more effective at left defensive end, which would be good if he took Kelsay's job.

All in all, looks like a reach at #11 but pretty sweet at #42.

That's a really low blow. You should apologize to him.

Emphasis on young. He isn't even old enough to drink yet.

Who the hell cares about his speeches and locker room leadership?? Go get the friggin' quarterback! Chris Kelsay is great in the locker room, but he's terrible on the football field. You lead by example!

Now that TO is in the fold and outside of one more OL piece the offense appears to be all set. I just believe that to make this defense (Cover 2) work, we have to have consistent pressure on the opposing QB. It's time to utilize this secondary that we have heavily invested into. I'm expecting us to be taking DE Aaron Maybin at the #11 spot.

It seems that Modrak and the rest of the Bills' scouts were paying a lot of attention to Maybin. Check out the Aaron Maybin news part from 2/27/09.

The Bills rarely draft guys who they pay a lot of attention to at the Combine.

Like I posted in another thread:

I hope the bills don't take Maybin expecting him to be anything but an OLB, the guy was 234 in collage and went up to 249 for the combine and stunk it up at a 15 LB heavier weight, the guy ran a 4.89. Mayock stating the heavier weight really hurt him and may drop him out of the first round,he was horrid in the 3 cone drill. Watch path to the draft on NFL network

According to this link that Tipster provided, his time is a 4.78. His best was 4.64 and his worst was a 4.91. Where does that 4.89 number come from?

Thanks for the article. I wonder if Philly would be interested in trading up. We could grab their two picks (we'd have to throw in our third rounder too, according to the chart (Draft Pick Value Chart), grab this Johnson guy (who sounds pretty good, honestly), probably grab the TE of our choosing, and still have our 2nd round pick for LG or depth. There are concerns, though: DE Johnson’s ‘consistency’ questioned at combined. He's also kind of skinny for being 6'7" (Ryan Denney is 276 lbs. at the same height; he's Dwight Freeney's weight but four inches taller). Mel Kiper says:

"The enigma at defensive end is Georgia Tech's Michael Johnson. He's blessed with a ton of ability and pass-rush potential but didn't come through with anything close to the dominating senior season I expected of him. As you noticed if you followed the big board every week all season, he slid down gradually the entire way until he was no longer in the top 25 at all. If he steps up his intensity and plays a more physical brand of football, you could be looking at one heck of a player in the NFL. He's a roll of the dice, though, because he could be a major disappointment. "

I'd still take Johnson over Tyson Jackson who is the #3 rated DE by Mel, for some reason. His stats certainly don't warrant it. (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=161147) Neither Jackson nor Robert Ayers impress me at all. A guy I would like to see Buffalo take on the second day (no earlier than the fourth round) would be Richmond's Lawrence Sidbury, Jr (http://www.talkbuffalosports.com/showthread.php?t=5473). Look him up.

Great post...he definitely brings alot to the table. I'm very high on this guy, even at 11.

Don't reach on a workout warrior! Remember Matt Jones?? People need to realize how to work the draft better. Don't draft a guy at #11 if you can get him at #20. You pay him less, you acquire more draft picks, and you put less pressure on the player to perform immediately.

DE's have a hard time impacting the first year or two-LB's play at a much higher level. I'd say trade down if we can and take Cushing or another OLB or Maulaluga, Laurinitis if Poz can play outside. 2nd round Ayers or a sleeper pick in Connor Barwin-both bigger men than Maybin. Also if we get an extra second with the trade down take on of the Centers, Hangartner can play Guard or Center-Wood or Mack if available.

Julius Peppers had 12 sacks his rookie year. Gaines Adams had six. Anthony Spencer had three in six starts. LaMarr Woodley had four in zero starts and 11½ the next year. We don't need an overhaul of the LB position. A player like Keiaho or June eliminates that position as one of need with the exception of depth (which, IMO, we should sign a vet for). We NEED to overhaul the DE position. If Brown and Orakpo are gone and we think we can get Johnson later, then trade down and get him later. Poz makes a good MLB in the Tampa 2. No need to move him to the outside.

I would also suggest everyone stop moving Hangartner. He obviously wants to play center and feels more comfortable there. Is it that difficult getting a guard? Sign a Kendall Simmons (or someone comparable) and draft an interior lineman in the third round, give or take (unless we stockpile picks - then you can pick him up earlier) and let him compete.
