"Kingpin" starring Woody Harrelson. "Repo Man" with Emilio Estevez.

PTR

Kingpin was excellent---but dark and a bit gross and disturbing.-The opening scene where he had hair and was the bowling rock star--the way he smiled and moved--was one of the funniest things Ive ever seen.

Just thought of another but not sure if it fits in either the underrated or comedy categories but had some very funny lines...

Fargo

Fargo won Oscars for screenplay and supporting actress, and was nominated for best picture. I think that takes it out of the "underrated" category. Good flick, though.

Bowfinger is my choice.

Definitely underrated! Critics loved it, but flopped at the box office, IIRC.

It was just ahead of its time with the Scientology joke. No one outside of Hollywood knew what Scientology was when it came out ...

Now, if it were to have been released today, everyone would get the joke and it would do so much better at the Box Office (just my opinion).

Of course, Inside Hollywood movies seldom do well at the box office ... so who knows.

But Bowfinger is simply brilliant. Just a top notch comedy and so well written. One of the lesser known bits about the script was that Martin (who wrote it) originally had KIT as a white guy ala Arnold. But then Eddie wanted to do it, so Eddie and Martin rewrote the script together in one weekend and added the black action star. Hilarious.

Just odd that Eddie didn't get a credit on the flick. But oh well.

That's interesting...I didn't even think about the Scientology connection until you just mentioned it. I totally agree with you about the brilliance of it. I love movies that have humor on several different levels, you know? There was a tremendous amt of wit, but the physical comedy was also there in spades. My brother got this DVD for me last year...I need to get it out for a re-watch

Team America World Police (!@#$ Yeah)

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (Johnny Depp is hysterical in this)

and to whoever said Mom and Dad Save the World, it is such a crappy movie, but funnier than hell

Real Men. With James Belushi and John Ritter.

Classic.

Speaking of John Ritter, how about "Skin Deep"? Just an okay movie, but had one of the funniest scenes of all time...the infamous condom/light saber scene....hilarious!

I know it's only partially a comedy.....but Trainspotting is one of my all time favorite movies.

Anyone remember this scene?:

Renton: Brilliant gold taps, virginal white marble, a seat carved from ebony, a cistern full of chanel number five, and a flunky handing me pieces of raw silk toilet roll. But under the circumstances I'll settle for anywhere.

Oh my... that scene! First time I saw it, I was ready to yakque... second time I died laughing :(

... do you shee the beasht mish moneypenny... do you have him in your shights?

I'll add:

Paint Your Wagon - c'mon, Lee Marvin & Clint Eastwood singing duets. Now that's comedy. and it was good, too!

Pirates- polanski... I know, I know... Matthau was awesome, & what a friggin' ship
