"Mr. Todaro started the famous La Nova pizzeria in North Tonawanda, New York in 1957, moving the business to its present location at 371 West Ferry St. on Buffalo's West Side in 1969. By the 1990s, Joseph Todaro Sr. and his family which include his son, Joseph Jr., his wife Cookie, and their children, Joseph III and Carla have turned La Nova Pizza and Wing Company into the #1 independent pizzeria in North America with annual sales that have been recorded at $25,000,000."

"According to local and national law enforcement agencies including the United States Department of Justice [1], Joseph Todaro Sr. is known on the streets of Buffalo and throughout the underworld as "Lead Pipe Joe", a high level member of the North American Cosa Nostra or mafia. Todaro Sr. has allegedly been a top figure in the Buffalo crime family or "The Arm" as it is referred to in western New York since the 1960s "

I have never eaten there, and never will. I'm really surprised that the majority of people don't know about its seedy connections.

I love La Nova...I go there at least two or three times, every time I go back home...mmmmm

I even had two pies delivered to me, in Texas, for the Super Bowl a few years back...it was awesome...got some wings too, (not so good delivered cross country, but some of the best, in person!) ...but the pizza? Spectacular!

Viva La Nova!!!!

A majority of people from Buffalo are well aware of this. Did your parents ever let you out of the burbs growing up?

 to Fingon,

who must not realize what a great combination LaNova Pizza and Wings are with Buffalo Bills games.

If the mob eats there, they have good food.

"Why, if you eat that slice....it's as good as throwing a child down a flight of stairs."

The world was a much safer place when we didn't have to rely on the government and big business to take care of us. On the negative side we have a city that has looked the same since 1972 because the pork from projects is sucked dry by the unions. On the positive side, Hookers, Booze and Gambling is the only thing that keeps us sane. One of the reasons Buffalo is still the city of good neighbors is because of the neighborhood breakdowns 50...60..70 years ago. There was so much pride, and groups did their own things, yet respected each other enough to make it all work. We still run off the fumes of those times while many other places are cookie cutter, or site "progress" for the sake of calling it progress.

The NFL is only as popular as it is because of gambling. So, really, if you support the Bills, you support organized crime. Now how much crime is there in taking the Bengals and 6 and a half?
