The 20 Worst Lyrics Ever:

Dude, how about 'Starship'?

Starship

Chorus:

We built this city, we built this city on rock an' roll

Built this city, we built this city on rock an' roll

Say you don't know me, or recognize my face

Say you don't care who goes to that kind of place

Knee deep in the hoopla, sinking in your fight

Too many runaways eating up the night

Marconi plays the mamba, listen to the radio, don't you remember

We built this city, we built this city on rock an' roll

Chorus:

We built this city, we built this city on rock an' roll

Built this city, we built this city on rock an' roll

Someone's always playing corporation games

Who cares they're always changing corporation names

We just want to dance here, someone stole the stage

They call us irresponsible, write us off the page

Marconi plays the mamba, listen to the radio, don't you remember

We built this city, we built this city on rock an' roll

Chorus:

We built this city, we built this city on rock an' roll

Built this city, we built this city on rock an' roll

It's just another Sunday, in a tired old street

police have got the chokehold, and we just lost the beat!

Who counts the money underneath the bar

Who rides the wreaking ball into our guitars

Don't tell us you need us, 'cos we're just simple fools

Looking for America, coming through your schools

(I'm looking out over that Golden Gate bridge

on another gorgeous sunny Saturday and I'm seeing bumper to bumper traffic.

Don't you remember (remember)

(Here's your favorite radio station, in your favorite radio city

The city by the bay, the city that rocks, the city that never sleeps)

Marconi plays the mamba, listen to the radio, don't you remember

We built this city, we built this city on rock an' roll

Chorus:

We built this city, we built this city on rock an' roll

Built this city, we built this city on rock an' roll

Chorus:

We built this city, we built this city on rock an' roll

Built this city, we built this city on rock an' roll

Uh-ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

[Nelly]

I'ma sucka for corn rows and manicured toes (hey)

Fendi capri pants and Parasuco's (alright)

Passadity ?? city, with one or two throws

I'm droppin 'em outta high school straight into the pros

Who knows? I know!

And I love it when you make your knees touch your elbows

And break it down low to the flo', and there you go

Now throw it on me slow

And everytime I +Busta Rhyme+, baby "Gimme Some Mo'"

You say you like that, when I hit it from behind

And I'll be right back; yeah that's my very next line

I use it - time after time, when I'm speakin my mind

It's no matter if I'm shootin game to a pigeon or dime

I ask her, "Who dat is, talkin that sh-- about the 'tics?"

Somebody probably jealous cause they B word got hit

But ain't nobody else droppin sh-- like this

Should we apologize? Nah !@#$ 'em, just leave 'em pissed, HEY!

Chorus: repeat 2X

Andele andele mami, E.I. E.I.

Uh-ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh! What's happenin now?

Andele andele mami, E.I. E.I.

Uh-ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh! If the head right, Nelly there ery'night

[Nelly]

We can gamble to the break of dawn, nigga

Money long, nigga

Pass up the skirt to talk to the thong, nigga

Some say I'm wrong, but !@#$ it I'm grown, nigga

If you ain't bout money then best be gone, nigga

I'm fast (uh) double takes when you walk past me

Nasty, don't be scared boo, go 'head and ask me

I drive fastly, call me Jeff Gord-on

In the black SS with the naviga-tion

See the joint blaz-on, somethin smells amaz-on

I got a chick rollin up, half black and asi-an

Another one pag-in, tellin me to come home

Her husband on vacation and left her home alone

I used the V-12, powers; weight loss, powers

From +Phat Farm+ to +Iceberg Slim+ in one shower

Get a room in Trump Towers just to hit the P hours

Kicked the B word up out the room cause she used the word ours, HEY!

Chorus

[Nelly]

Aiyyo I smash-mouth a whole ounce, of that sticky

Wash my hands under a gold spout, when feelin icky

Let go off in a ho's mouth, I ain't picky

Start frontin when the shows out - whatchu mean?!

Twenty inches when they roll ouuuuuuut - come and get me

Big faces when they fold ouuuuuuut - is you wit me?

Don't make me pull that fo'-fo' ouuuuuuut

I keep it closer when the dough ouuuuuuut

Then I slide up in the Escalade

Me and E gettin solid like the Ice Capades

And me and Heezy - frosty, project mo' wrapped up than Bugsy

You understand me, wrapped wrists like mummies

If you compare me to your local grocery

Then you'll see I got more carrots/karats than "Aisle D"

More bread than "Aisle G", then bag and scan me

+Sure+ like +Al B.+, meet the 'tics in Maui, HEY!

Chorus

[Nelly]

St. Louis y'all, uh, uh

Uh-ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Uh, can you feel that?

Lunatics y'all, uh, uh

Uh-ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Uh, uh, Uncle Phil up above y'all, uh, uh

Uh-ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Yell it universal y'all, uh, uh

Uh-ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Uh, uh, chillin chillin chillin with the crew y'all

So I pull out my keyboard and I pull out my glock,

And I dismount your girl and I mount /proc

You're outside your scope, son, close them curly brackets,

'Cause I drop punk-ass bitches like a modem drops packets.

KILL DASH NINE,

No more CPU time.

I run KILL DASH NINE,

And your process is mine.

I run KILL DASH NINE,

'Cause it's MY time to shine

So don't step outta line or else it's

KILL DASH NINE!

I love rap, but apparently none of you have radios because the very worst lyrical "song" was just released about a month ago:

MIMS - This is why I'm hot

This is why I'm hot (hot)

This is why I'm hot (hot)

This is why This is why This is why I'm hot (hot)

This is why I'm hot (hot)

This is why I'm hot (hot)

This is why This is why This is why I'm hot (hot)

I'm hot cause I'm fly

You ain't cause you not

This is why This is why This is why I'm hot (hot)

I wouldn't listen to a station that played something like that.

Fair enough...I just figured that song had pushed it's way onto every genre radio station in existence. It's everywhere.

Also (not being a wise ass) but for someone who doesn't listen to rap stations, how did you know about Ma$e and G-Unit?

Surprised no one listed this awful little ditty from 1972:

On the first part of the journey

I was looking at all the life

There were plants and birds and rocks and things

There was sand and hills and rings

The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz

And the sky with no clouds

The heat was hot and the ground was dry

But the air was full of sound

I've been through the desert on a horse with no name

It felt good to be out of the rain

In the desert you can remember your name

'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain

La, la ...

After two days in the desert sun

My skin began to turn red

After three days in the desert fun

I was looking at a river bed

And the story it told of a river that flowed

Made me sad to think it was dead

You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name

It felt good to be out of the rain

In the desert you can remember your name

'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain

La, la ...

After nine days I let the horse run free

'Cause the desert had turned to sea

There were plants and birds and rocks and things

there was sand and hills and rings

The ocean is a desert with it's life underground

And a perfect disguise above

Under the cities lies a heart made of ground

But the humans will give no love

You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name

It felt good to be out of the rain

In the desert you can remember your name

'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain

La, la ...

Also (not being a wise ass) but for someone who doesn't listen to rap stations, how did you know about Ma$e and G-Unit?

Fitty was about where I started to veer away from mainstream hip hop. The last couple of years have really been a blur. I couldn't tell you the difference between three-six mafia and dem franchise boyz or whoever the yout's is listening to now.

I was really into Biggie, Snoop, Dre, and Jay-Z. I still listen to The Chronic, Life After Death and The Black Album.

It's getting hard to identify with rap especially being a 35 year old step-dad trying to teach good values. I actually have to listen to hip hop in secret. I can't exactly rap along to The Chronic with my step-son in the back seat:

You never know she could be earnin' her man,

And learnin' her man, and at the same time burnin' her man

Now you know I ain't wit that sh--, Lieutenant

Ain't no kitty good enough to get burnt while I'm up in it

(yeah) Now that's realer than real-deal Holyfield

And now all you hookas and ho's know how I feel

Well if it's good enough to get broke off a proper chunk

I'll take a small piece of some of that funky stuff.

The Chili Peppers are one of my favorite bands ever. But Keidis doesn't say a lot of non-sense. Example A from the song "This is the Place"

Can I smell your gasoline

Can I pet your wolverine

On the day my best friend died

I could not get my copper clean

It sounds good though.

"There were plants and birds and rocks and things" was mentioned in the original link. Though honestly, I always thought "Under the cities lies a heart made of ground But the humans will give no love" was the real low point of the song.

A drunk guy from a place far, far away

Long, long ago...

As DC Crayons notes, part of this song was already mentioned earlier in the thread (I believe the "alligator lizards" segment).

What I always wondered when listening to the song was, this:

If he had all that time in the desert to, ummm, "think" these , ummm, interesting things, why didn't he think of a name for the fuc#ing horse, for Christ's sake?

This is BY FAR the worst song I have ever heard:

"Bicycle Race" by Queen. The lyrics are bad enough, but there is also a solo featuring a handlebar bike bell. Absolutely terrible song.

Pink Floyd's got a song about a Bike that's just as craptacular.

I always thought "Does Anyybody Really Know What Time It Is" from Chicago sounded like they were making it up as they went along.

Not unlike Paul McCartney's unlikely hit " Let Him In ".... Four minutes of made up names (sister Suzie, Auntie Gin ect.) bracketed by "somebody's knockin' at the door, somebody's ringin' the bell".

Whenever I hear that piece of crap on the radio I yell, "Let the motherfuc#er in, for Christ's sake!"...and then change the station.

Whenever I hear "Who Let the Dogs Out", I yell, "I did. OK? Blame me and shut the fuc# up about it!"...and then change the station

...you get the picture...
