Hall of Fame Finalists Announced Wednesday...

I think Thurman gets in, but Reed waits a long time...I don't think it is fair, at all. However, Andre Reed seems to be the most overlooked player on those great teams, even amongst Bills fans. I think they both belong, first ballot!

The list of 25 semifinalists will be reduced by mail ballot to 15 modern-era candidates. That list, announced in mid-January, will increase to 17 finalist nominees with the inclusion of the two recommended candidates of the Hall of Fame's Seniors Committee. The Seniors Committee nominees, who were announced in August, are former Cleveland Browns guard Gene Hickerson and Detroit Lions tight end Charlie Sanders.

The Class of 2007 will be determined at the Selection Committee's annual meeting on Saturday, February 3, 2007, in Miami, Florida, the day before Super Bowl XLI.

I think they only elect a max. of 6 total per year.

I hope Thurman gets in this year. I think he got screwed by not being a first ballot entry last year. I think Andre Reed definately gets in well before his nomination gets to a "veteran's committee" but I also don't think he will make it this year.

Of the non players, it comes down to George Young and Paul Tagliabue. My guess is George Young will get the nod this year and Tags next year.

One guy I hope makes it in this year:

Art Monk. There has never been a player more screwed over in this process. Ever. I don't get why he hasn't been voted in.

One guy I hope never makes it in:

Bob Duche-n-berg. This guy is a loser.

Who I think gets in this year:

George Young

Thurman Thomas

Russ Grimm

Charles Haley

Bruce Mathews

And one of those "Veteran Committe" guys. Charlie Sanders or Gene Hickerson. :wallbash:

I believe this is the year they both get in.

I don't know if Reed can get in ahead of Art Monk and Michael Irvin.

Irvin played great in the big games, though he does not have the stats in the regular season.

Art Monk had the great stats but did not make game changing big plays.....

Reed is somewhere in between those guys....neither here nor there....

Someone please explain why Tagliabue gets in the HOF. The guy was the biggest douchbag commissioner also known as Mr. Politically Correct and servant of Jerry Jones.

When is Bruuuuuce eligible? Next year?

Rest assured his will be a first-ballot election.

Not until 2009, I believe -- 2003 was his final year in Washington, so he won't be eligible until fall 2008.

Reed / Thurm both made the finalists list, of course.
