Centro-matic -- Starfighter #1479

**********

When I woke up this morning, things were lookin' bad

Seem like total silence was the only friend I had

Bowl of oatmeal tried to stare me down... and won

And it was twelve o'clock before I realized

That I was havin' ... no fun

But fortunately ...I have the key... to escape reality

And you may see me tonight with an illegal smile

It don't cost very much, but it lasts a long while

Won't you please tell the man I didn't kill anyone

No I'm just tryin' to have me some fun

:)

A heart that's full up like a landfill,

a job that slowly kills you,

bruises that won't heal.

You look so tired-unhappy,

bring down the government,

they don't, they don't speak for us.

I'll take a quiet life,

a handshake of carbon monoxide,

with no alarms and no surprises,

no alarms and no surprises,

no alarms and no surprises,

Silent silence.

Well I won't back down

No I won't back down

You can stand me up at the gates of hell

But I won't back down

No I'll stand my ground, won't be turned around

And I'll keep this world from draggin me down

gonna stand my ground

... and I won't back down

Mania B word.

"A pensive man am I, of philosophical joys,

who likes to meditate, contemplate,

far for humanities mad inhuman noise,

Quiet living man....

But, let a woman in your life, and your sabbatical is through,

in a line that never ends comes an army of her friends,

come to jabber and to chatter

and to tell her what the matter is with YOU!,

she'll have a booming boisterous family,

who will descend on you en mass,

she'll have a large wagnarian mother,

with a voice that shatters glass, "

As much as I like "Born under a bad sign", and I can't recall if I've ever even seen My Fair Lady, but I googled the lyrics, and it comes closer to describing me than anything else I've seen here. Nice choice, Pickering.

There is a man

a certain man

and for the poor you may be sure

that he'll do all he can

who is this one?

who's favourite son?

just by his action has the traction

magnets on the run

who likes to smoke

enjoys a joke

and wouldn't get a bit

upset if he were really broke

with wealth and fame

he's still the same

I'll bet you five you're not alive

If you don't know his name

This one's just for /dev/null...get your cowbell ready. :)

All our times have come

Here but now they're gone

Seasons don't fear the reaper

Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain...

We can be like they are

Come on baby... don't fear the reaper

Baby take my hand... don't fear the reaper

We'll be able to fly... don't fear the reaper

Baby I'm your man...

Romeo and Juliet

Are together in eternity...

Romeo and Juliet

Forty thousand men and women everyday...

Like Romeo and Juliet

Forty thousand men and women everyday...

Redefine happiness

Another forty thousand coming everyday...

We can be like they are

Come on baby...don't fear the reaper

Baby take my hand... don't fear the reaper

We'll be able to fly... don't fear the reaper

Baby I'm your man...

Love of two is one

Here but now they're gone

Came the last night of sadness

And it was clear she couldn't go on

Then the door was open and the wind appeared

The candles blew then disappeared

The curtains flew then he appeared...

saying don't be afraid

Come on baby...and she had no fear

And she ran to him...then they started to fly

They looked backward and said goodbye...

she had become like they are

She had taken his hand...

she had become like they are

Come on baby...don't fear the reaper

In all seriousness, here's the song I had in mind. It's called "Hope to Carry On", and it was co-written by Rich Mullins, whom you see in my sig line. I can only remember how the first verse and chorus go.

The song was recorded by a Christian band named Caedmon's Call. And if the lyrics are offensive to you, please note that I am not here to offend. This song means a lot to me personally.

I can see Jesus hanging on the Cross (repeat 2x)

He came looking for the lost, and

Love has come

Love has come

Love has come

And it's given me hope to carry on...

GREAT song by a band far too many people aren't aware of.

Grace, Too

Tragically Hip

Ghost town on a tuesday night

That ok I'm feelin' alright

It's easier to grab a beer

Without a thousand people here

I wonder where I'll be in a year

Probably be sittin right here

But if you know the answer

Don't tell me anyone

I don't wanna know

You wanna talk about a great band (for one album at least) that NOBODY seems to know? I give you... The Refreshments.

There are three topics to the songs on that album:

1. Drinking

2. Mexico

3. Drinking in Mexico

Looking back on the memory of

The dance we shared beneath the stars above

For a moment all the world was right

How could I have known you'd ever say goodbye

And now I'm glad I didn't know

The way it all would end the way it all would go

Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain

But I'd of had to miss the dance

Holding you I held everything

For a moment wasn't I the king

But if I'd only known how the king would fall

Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all

And now I'm glad I didn't know

The way it all would end the way it all would go

Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain

But I'd of had to miss the dance

Yes my life is better left to chance

I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance
